Pune: SeaFolks Network , a networking platform for maritime Industry has organized MariLeap 2016, a program on Career opportunities in Maritime Industry. MariLeap is going to be held on 22nd -24th Apr 2016 at Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagruha, Pune. Hon Minister for Shipping, Road transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari and Hon Member of Parliament from Pune Anil Shirole are going to be present during the event. The program is free for all and is specially designed for students .
The program will include a career guidance seminar on 22nd Apr 2016 from 10:30 am to 01:30 pm. Information about courses like Merchant Navy, Naval Architecture & Ship Building, Maritime Law, Marine Management, Maritime Logistics and Transportation will be delivered by panel of experts, during MariLeap seminar. MariLeap exhibition will have Maritime Institutes from different parts of India.
MariLeap expert panel who will guide students includes Capt Sudhir Subhedar – Past President of ICC Shipping Association, Capt Harish Khatri – Dy Nautical Advisor to the Govt of India MMD, Adv Ranjeet Sangle – LLM (Maritime Law) NUS, Singapore Advocate, Supreme court of India, Dr B K Saxena – Principal Tolani Maritime Institute, Pune and Past President of Institute of Marine Engineers (India), Capt Keshavkiran Apte – Master FG – Chairman of Company of Master Mariners of India, Pune Chapter and HOD at Maharashtra Academy of Naval Education & Training Pune, Capt Uday Palsule – MD Spear Logistics, Ex-visiting faculty at institutes like IIM-A and expert speaker respected forums like CII.
India’s Maritime infrastructure plays an important role in enabling and driving International trade. India’s marine Import Export trade accounts for ~95% of India’s trade by volume and largely contributes in the economic development of our country.
India has over 7500 km of coastline and 14000 km of inland waterways. There are about 240 government projects worth USD 60 billion under pipeline. It is estimated that government initiatives like Sagarmala and other allied private developments will create more than 1 crore potential jobs in next 5 years.
MariLeap will educate people about how to be part of this growing Maritime Industry.
