Pune: Vishal Patel , Gulam Gaus , Oindrilla datta Roy , Pinky Gupta , five students from first year at MIT institute of Telecom( MITSOT ) merged victorious at the Lenovo Start off as a CEO contest held recently . The innovative e waste recyling plan presented by five first year students of MITSOT was selected amongst the top five entries from over 5000 aspirants for this contest. The students worked for over two months to come up with a concrete plan on e waste management . That included opportunities ,business concept , resources required , machinery , quotations , processes , industrial policies prevalent etc . Being a largely unorganized sector , their work was even challenging .
With over 5000 entries , they had to present their ideas in a form of a presentation. They were selected and then went through a mentorship program . Lenovo India also tweeted on this revolutionary concept of e waste recycling .
Dr Mlind Pande , Project Director MITSOT said that we have always encouraged our students on research based learning . Telecom and technology has opened up so many possibilities which allows students to do a lot of experiments. I am confident that this plan submitted by our students will get investors .
