Mumbai: It’s a shocking news!
Out of ten people from Kerala, who are suspected to have joined the dreaded terror outfit Islamic State, five belong to one family.
This family is of Mumbai-based businessman Abdul Majeed’s son Ashfaque Ahmed.
Reportedly, Ashfaque Ahmed has taken his wife and child along to west Asia and moreover two of his cousins have also joined him, according to report in TOI.
Details of Ashfaque’s family members
26-year-old Ashfaque Ahmed, his wife, infant daughter and cousins Mohammed Siraj and Ejaz Rehman had left India in June 2016 to join the Islamic State.
Ashfaque Ahmed’s cousin Mohammed Siraj is 22 and a businessman by profession while the other cousin Ejaz Rehman is 30 and a medical practitioner by profession.
“I’ve had migrated to IS territory”
Reportedly, Ashfaque’s youngest brother had received a message in June.
“I’ve had migrated to IS territory and did not want to come back; ‘take care of mother and father,” read the message sent by Ashfaque to his brother on mobile.
Ashfaque’s father, Abdul Majeed, filed an FIR on August 6 naming Haneef, Abdur Rasheed, a Kerala school teacher who travelled to Syria with Ashfaque, Navi Mumbai resident Arshi Qureshi and Kalyan resident Rizwan Khan as the ones who allegedly instigated his son to join Islamic State.
Now, cops are questioning Islamic preacher Mohammed Haneef, who is under crime branch custody.
