Pune: Mydentist, India’s largest dental clinic chain,has recently tied-up with Bajaj FinServ and also two mobile wallets to further simplify and also make dental treatments more affordable. In less than 2 months of launching the tie-up, approximately 200 people have already used the Bajaj FinServ EMI facility.
Under the Bajaj FinServ scheme, any patient with a bill amount of more than 15,000 can avail of an interest free EMI scheme. The patient needs to make 33% of the treatment amount upfront and the rest of the payment can be divided in to 8 interest free EMIs.

Even though Mydentist uses only the best products for treatment from well-known brands like 3M, Nobel and Biocare, it is able to provide affordable pricing for all its treatment because of its central sourcing system. With 111 clinics across India it has significant economy of scale. The benefits of low cost procurement are passed on to the customers in the form of lower treatment costs.
However, there are many dental treatments that can cost more than 10-15 thousand rupees and sometimes a complete treatment can cost upward of a lakh or more. For e.g if a person loses teeth at an early age, it is important to replace the gaps with implants so that he/she can continue to have a healthy life. Many a times, braces are necessary for children with crooked teeth, which can otherwise lead to cavities and hence health issues. Many of these implants and orthodontic correction treatments can be costly.
In India, Dentistry related treatments are not covered under any health insurance. Oral health is not part of any health insurance plan and hence the patient has to rely on savings for any expense. Moreover, most hospitals and private clinics expect cash or the credit card payments come at an additional 2% charge.
Mydentist is taking multiple measures to help make payment processes easier. Along with BajajFinServ Mydentist has also tied-up with mobile wallets, like the Reliance Jio and Mobikwik. It gives the patients another convenient way of payment. They can also benefit from the reward points/cashback schemes that these wallets offer.
Mydentist also makes sure that a patient has absolute clarity on the cost of their treatment from the very start. All the treatment costs are listed on its site and are accessible by anyone. Also, there is no charge for a check-up. Anyone can walk in the clinics for a free-checkup, which may include a free x-ray as well. Post the treatment, the patient is given a printed estimate. The patient is free to come back anytime later for a treatment and does not need to commit anything after the check-up.
With a team of 500 dentists and an overall team strength of 1400 people, Mydentist is well poised for growth. It, on an average ,treats 25-30,000 patients a month and has treated more than 4,50,000 patients till date.
