Hinjewadi: The National Sports Day (NSD) is celebrated across India on 29 August to commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. VIBGYOR HIGH – Hinjewadi celebrated the NSD and the students were enlightened about the achievements of Major Dhyan Chand, famously known as “The Wizard”. Major Dhyanchand had won three Olympic gold medals in Hockey in 1928, 1932, and 1936 and scored over 400 goals during his career. Prime Minister’s address to the nation on Fit India Campaign was also telecast in the school.
On the occasion, VIBGYOR High – Hinjewadi organised various sports activities at the school. The enthusiastic students across grades participated with great fervour and spirit of sportsmanship. The winning teams along with the First and the Second Runner-Up teams were bestowed with Gold, Silver & Bronze medals respectively.
