Pune: Inspired by the idea that there is no age bar to learn, Shobhaa De said, “I am re-thinking of writing a book and searching for a concept in which I wish to believe in the most rather than my publishers. For the kind of readers we have today, I would like to explore a new way to communication with them as they fascinate me the most.” Shobhaa De was talking during the session titled, ‘Yours truly – Shobhaa De’ on 4th edition of the Pune International Literary Festival (PILF) 2016 held in Pune.
While talking about the practice she follows as an author, Shobhaa said, “I prefer writing at my natural pace. However it is vital to choose a subject and the idea first on which an author can begin the writing without missing a single emotion of his mind.” She also mentioned that as to have a control over words, one requires to write minimum 500 words every day.
Commenting on the changes that the country is currently going through Shobhaa mentioned that every generation has a churn. When the citizens are passive about the change than stopping them is impossible. “We are not the society which can be manipulated by anyone. We are going through the transitional period where young generation is gearing up to make the prime decisions for the country”, added Shobhaa De.
On Feminism Shobhaa shared her views and said, “Feminism is not about speaking for the rights of women. It is about the equality among all kind of gender whether it is men, women or children.”
On this occasion, the Organizers of PILF, Dr. Manjiri Prabhu and other members of the organizing committee like Leena Prabhu and Bipin Chandra Chougule were also present.
PILF will conclude on Sunday, September 4th , with a special session of ‘Yours Truly’ by noted Actor Anupam Kher.
