Mumbai: On the back of a star-studded premiere at the YRF Studios, their Youth Films Division, Y-Films launched it’s first short film under Love Shots titled ‘The Road Trip’ starring Nimrat Kaur [of Airlift, The Lunchbox & Homeland series fame] & Tahir Raj Bhasin [of Mardaani, Force 2]. The short tells the story of a young couple driving to a weekend getaway when their car breaks down. Directed by Ankur Tewari, the film also features original music composed & performed by him with Nischay Parekh.
Adds Ashish Patil, Head, Y-Films & Producer of Love Shots, “Y-Films has always tried to up the game in all it’s initiatives. Be it bringing in a cinematic scale & vision to web series with the hugely successful Bang Baaja Baaraat & Man’s World or clutter breaking music with India’s 1st Transgender Band. Love Shots marks our first baby steps into giving the short film format a massive boost in our country. We are also supremely excited to partner with Airtel who help us make ‘connections’ with our consumers much stronger and wayyy faster.”
Tahir Raj Bhasin had a blast shooting for this and says, “Short films are fun experiments and a great way to improvise and play.”
The music for Love Shots is exclusively available on Wynk music for a period of 3 days before its release. Mr. Srini Gopalan – Director – Consumer Business, Airtel, says, “Airtel has been a pioneer in the Indian telecom industry and is leading the 4G growth story in the country. Smartphones and fast mobile internet have transformed the way we consume content, with video emerging as the most popular form. Consumers, in particular, the multi-tasking youth, are looking for engaging video content to snack on and we believe Love Shots from YRF will set a new benchmark in short storytelling. As the leading smartphone network, Airtel is very excited to be a part of this innovative project.”
Ankur Tewari, who also scored music for The Road Trip says, ‘Love can be crazy, love can be twisted, and love can be unpredictable. These films explore love beyond boundaries and conventions, breaking stereotypes. The thing that holds them together is unabashed audacity to love. The OST for this film- ‘Life changes Everyday’ talks about cherishing the moment and make the most of what we have. Shooting the video was so much fun with Shraddha, the director, as she was absolutely clear about what she wanted.’
