Note on Initiatives undertaken by Vodafone in the aftermath of Kerala floods
Kerala has been experiencing its worst downpour in over a century and the devastation that has followed has seen the loss of many lives, unprecedented damage to the state’s infrastructure and immense disruption to normal lives of citizens.
Vodafone India, as a value based organization, cares for people and believes that every life saved, every distress call connected makes an invaluable difference.
We have mobilized our vast network of employees, customers, partners, vendors and supporters for relief work, channelizing our resources and efforts to the best of our ability, to provide help and assistance to the affected people in this hour of need.
Vodafone has initiated several measures to provide assistance to those who are affected by this ongoing crisis in Kerala. To enable our customers in Kerala to remain connected in this hour of dire need, on an immediate basis, Vodafone offers a ‘Talk Time’ credit of up to Rs. 30 to all Vodafone prepaid mobile customers. To activate this Chota credit, Vodafone prepaid customers can SMS ‘CREDIT’ to 144 or dial *130*1#. Additionally, 1 GB of mobile data is being auto credited free of cost to all Vodafone prepaid smart phone users in Kerala.
To ensure that postpaid customers have uninterrupted access to services, Vodafone has given an extension on bill payment dates.
