Pune: Vishwakarma Publications launched ‘One Love’ by Prashant Ingole – a fresh take on what defines love and friendship, on 8th August at Book Ganga, Pune. The book was launched at the hands of Ajay Naik, Director of several Marathi films, like Satrangi Re, Lagna Pahawe Karun, Baawre Prem He, to name some.
Narrated in the breezy, easy style of youthful conversation that will appeal to readers aged 14 to 65, this book will touch a chord in many hearts. Its protagonists are easy to identify with, their predicaments are what many young people face, and their responses will alternately delight and baffle them.
“Love and friendship are themes that dominate the lives of young people. Reinforced by millions of text messages, phone calls, meetings, and chance encounters every day, love and friendship provide enduring inspiration for filmmakers and advertisers as well. There are sound reasons for this. By dwelling on love and loyalty, friendship and affection, we find it easier to deal with the negativity that surrounds us from a hundred different directions”, smiles Prashant Ingole .
What makes people fall in love? What makes someone stay loyal to a memory? What place do caring, friendship and commitment have in the lives of those driven apart by circumstances? We stay curious about such and similar questions even as we stay immersed in our daily routines.
Prashant Ingole is a lyricist who has been called a ‘New Age Gulzar’, and a filmmaker who has his finger on the pulse of youth through his successful songs for Hindi films, including ‘Party on My Mind’ from Race 2 and the inspiring ‘Ziddi Dil’ from Mary Kom. Prashant moved to Mumbai after many years in Pune, and continues to have links to the city where he grew up. With a slew of songs in big picture releases slated for later in 2015, Prashant is happy to be extending his reach with words through One Love, his debut novel.
Priced at Rs. 200, the 232 pages book, will surely win the hearts of the readers!
