New Delhi: The Press Information Bureau, under the aegis of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting today launched its blog to mark the country’s 69th Independence Day. The blog, https://pibindia.wordpress.com/ , currently has posts/articles by various Union Ministers such as Shri Birender Singh, Minister of Rural Development and Shri Prakash Javadekar, Minister of State (Independent charge) for Environment and Forest, and by Ministries such as Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, highlighting the key achievements of the government.
A colourful factsheet on the government’s activities is also embedded in the blog. The move is a part of its overall shift towards more interactive social media, such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc. The initiative is an attempt to facilitate the qualitative flow of information to the concerned stakeholders such as journalists, citizens and keep them engaged with the government. The blog can also be accessed from PIB’s website, www.pib.gov.in, through the link on the homepage, “Our Blog”.
