New Delhi: Senior BJP Leader Vijay Jolly while addressing a large gathering of school children termed the foreign policy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “Exceptional”.
Father Agnel School (FAS), Noida conducted Model United Nations (MUN) 3 days program recently where about 500 young delegates from various schools and academic institutions across India participated. Participants in the FASMUN-2015 conducted conferences as foreign countries delegates placed in various UN styled committees and assigned countries, representing different organizations as well as political figures.
Addressing the closing ceremony Senior BJP leader and Ex-Convenor BJP Overseas Affairs Vijay Jolly appreciated the task undertaken by students and the school management in deliberating upon the core issues pertaining to the role & relevance of United Nations.
Jolly, who himself has travelled across 82 countries as part of diplomatic tours, mentioned that the foreign policy undertaken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is exceptional which is now acknowledged and recognized worldwide including in United Nations.
Just on the mere mention of “Made in India”, “Swachchh Bharat” & “Firmly Tackling Terrorism” by PM Modi by Vijay Jolly in his speech, evoked thunderous applause by the assembled youngsters.
The opening address was made by Former IPS officer Uday Sahay who said that MUN is an educational simulation in which students learn about diplomacy, international relations and the UN.
On the occasion Director of Fr. Agnel School J. A. Carvalho & Principal Sister Sherine said that the relevance of UN seems to be fading. Today it just remains the domain of mighty and wealthy nations. But both said that this is the platform which aims at fostering a better understanding of major international issues and concerns with great experience for students to debate. The program coordinator Jyotisen Gupta was honored. The students presented a exhilarating cultural program of music & dance.
