Pune: Friday night was buzzing at Pune’s Citrus Hotel, as it unveiled to the city its finest Indo-Chinese casual dining restaurant, Punchin. The lights were bright, the music foot tapping and the cameras flashed as the city’s elite, on special invitation, made their presence felt at the grooviest new restaurant in town. It was a night to remember, and will be the first of many a memorable nights Punchin is likely to see in the coming years! Actor AtulKulkarni& Director SatishRajwade graced the occasion and were seen interacting with Mr. GauravGoenka, Managing Director – Mirah Hospitality &Mr. Russell Gregory, General Manager, Citrus Pune. At Punchin, the concept is simple – the AmritsariKulcha meets the Chilly Noodle, combining the two most popular cuisines of India; Punjabi &desi Chinese! As soon as you walk in, you can’t help but admire the swish interiors with their bright colours and glass facades. The centerpiece is undoubtedly the show kitchen, two of them, for tandoor and grill. They not only ensure that hygiene is always maintained, but also warrant that only fresh, piping hot food is served on your plate! The bar, with its eclectic feel, is well stocked and manned by the best-trained bartenders in the city. Name your drink and you shall have it! The relaxed, recessed seating gives the diners privacy and space. Generous portions of their house special Butter Chicken, Dal Amritsari, Missi Roti DahiBhalle and desi Chinese highlightsLollipops, Chilly Chicken, Stir fried Schezwan, from and Chinese Pulao were served. Considering how quickly they were lapped up, we are sure that they will soon be everyone’sfavourite! These are served in genuine, handpicked tawas, shovels, momo baskets and skewers.
