The Pune Style Week concluded last night at Phoenix Market City with its grand finale show by Abhishek Dutta showcasing his latest collection.
“In this realm of new horizon we see the emergence of womanhood where she comes in different avatar more fierce and combative who will stand against any injustice.” said the Kolkata based designer about his fall-winter collection.
To do justice to his rebellious collection, he had Shweta Raj as the showstopper. When asked about how she felt about her win at the Miss Commonwealth Asia Pacific, she said “I am so honoured to have represented my country, the feeling of being called as Miss India, that’s just something different. I feel on top of the world!”.
The finale day witnessed gorgeous ethnic collection from Pune based Shruti and Mangaaysh.
The host designers who have been styling and designing for almost a decade have the credit of designing costumes for Angelina Jolie and Irfan Khan for the Hollywood movie “Mighty Heart” and names like Elizabeth Hurley to their profile.
Model turned designer Sakshi Bindra and designer Nazia Syed showcased their collections, too.
Delhi girl Sakshi Bindra showcased her party-wear collection . “My collection is all about feminine soft silhouettes , I have used drapes and cuts to define female beauty. The Idea is to highlight the woman of today.. who is confident and doesn’t mind experimenting with her looks while keeping it simple and stylish” she said. The former model’s brand goes by the name SAKK.
Nazia Syed, who’s a Chennai based designer presented her latest collection-
Nod to Normcore.
Her collection was all about androgynous pieces in bright colours that go easily from chic office wear to casual couture.
Nazia Syed’s new collection, “Nod to Normcore,” is a powerful shift from her usual style of embroidered, heavy and intricate women’s wear. “Fashion to me is all about comfort, something that one can carry off easily and that’s what my collection is all about” she said.
Nazia Syed and Sakshi Bindra had the two beautiful ladies- Sonia Singh and Supriya Aiman walking for them as showstoppers.
To conclude the ceremony, Gaurav Sharma of Storm Fashion Company expressed his joy on Pune Style week successfully completing its third season. He said “Pune Style Week is being conducted in an open space for the first time. We want to take this concept further and introduce it to all our city fashion weeks. This is our small initiative”.
The Storm Fashion Company has been producing local city based fashion events annually since 2009 and its Fashion Weeks are spread across 16 cities.
