Pune: Considering the importance of the guru-disciple tradition in classical music, a program based on the classical music called ‘Swar-Vilas’ has been organized where Punekars will get a chance to listen to gurus and their disciples perform from one platform.
Organized by Vilas Javdekar, Founder and Chairman of Vilas Javdekar Developers, the program will take place on Sunday August 11, 2019 at 9:30 am at M. E. S. auditorium of Bal Shikshan Mandir School, Mayur Colony, Kothrud. The event is free and open to all.
At the event, the celebrated singer, Pt. Sanjeev Abhyankar and his disciple, Vilina Patra will be performing.
“Considering the cultural heritage of Pune, every year 10 various ‘thaats’ are performed under 10 different programs and maestros including Pt. Shaunak Abhishek, Pt. Hemant Pendse, renowned Indian Classical Vocalist, Kalapini Komkali, Hindustani classical vocalist, Anuradha Kuber, Vocalist, Pt. Sanjeev Abhyankar among others have performed. In the field of classical music, the guru-disciple tradition has a supreme importance and getting a chance to sit in front of the guru and perform is very important for the disciples.Therefore, considering the tradition of ‘guru-disciple’ we have formed a new concept this year,” said Vilas Javdekar.
