The Rath Yatra is being organized in commemoration of the 139th birth anniversary of Sadhu Vaswani, the founder of the Sadhu Vaswani Mission.
The Rath, a representation of Peace, resembles a space-ship like craft. The vehicle will also carry a life-like statue of Sadhu Vaswani. Since 1966, it has been taken through the city of Pune. It trails through the streets of Camp covering a stretch of over 5 kms. Thousands participate in this annual three and half-hour walk.
The Rath Yatra starts with a prayer ceremony.
Starting at Sadhu Vaswani’s Sacred Samadhi at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission, the Rath Yatra will go to Sadhu Vaswani Chowk and then follow the route: Council Hall (right from signal) – Poona Club (straight from Hotel Blue Nile Signal) – Hotel Sagar plaza – Dorabjee (right from signal) – Hotel supriya – Rahim Petrol Pump – Cycle Society – Quarter Gate – Irwin Road – Padumjee Gate Police Chowky – Padumjee Compound – Nishat talkies – Agarwal Colony – Babajan Chowk – R.S.
