Chennai: Renault India has said that it will start delivery of its newly launched small hatchback Kwid by mid-October, coinciding with festive season. “The company is gearing up for Kwid exports to Latin America, Africa and other emerging markets according to the market demand,” said Sumit Sawhney, managing director and CEO, Renault India.
The company is also in the process of launching the 7-seater model of its MPV Lodgy to cater to fleet operators across the country as well Duster Explore version in the next few days to cash in on the festive mood, Sawhney added.
In an interactive session with media persons, he said: “We have started billing dealers for Kwid and the car will be made available at the showroom by October 7 across the country. The delivery will begin by mid of this month”.
While he declined to give any specific numbers to begin with, Sawhney said: “It should be more than 5,000 units a month of Kwids to start with as the company is getting overwhelming response from across India. The product has been made available across all our 175 dealerships. With a dedicated App in place, customers have also started booking through mobile phones with a booking amount of R5,000.”
