A host of events have been lined up to commemorate this sacred occasion at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission, Pune, including Rath Yatra, Youth Meet, Dada Leela, & more….
Revered Sadhu Vaswani’s 136th Birthday, which falls on November 25th, will be celebrated from November 20 to 25. Devotees will converge from all over the world at its International Headquarters in Pune. It is also being celebrated worldwide at the various centers of the Mission with unique local programs and the campaign of the Meatless Day where people are encouraged to stay vegetarian on November 25th.
Friday, November 20th – 6:45pm– Youth Meet – The 21 Day Secret, the Bridge Builders present a novel and contemporary play followed by Question & Answer session by Rev. Dada J.P. Vaswani.
Sunday, November 22nd – 11:30 am onwards Seva Programmes followed by Sadhu Vaswani’s Upadesh and Rev. Dada J.P. Vaswani’s Upadesh from 6:30pm onwards.
Monday, November 23rd – 5:00pm — Rath Yatra, a chariot of peace. An annual tradition in the city of Pune, 3-hour journey through the streets of Pune with thousands in procession will start and end at the Sacred Shrine of Sadhu Vaswani.
The route of the Rath Yatra is as follows:-
Sadhu Vaswani Chowk – Council Hall (right from signal) – Poona Club (straight from Hotel Blue Nile Signal) – Hotel Sagar plaza – Dorabjee (right from signal) – Hotel supriya – Rahim Petrol Pump – Cycle Society – Quarter Gate – Irwin Road – Padumjee Gate Police Chowky – Padumjee Compound – Nishat talkies – Agarwal Colony – Babajan Chowk – R.S.Kedari road – Bhopala Chowk – Mahatma Gandhi road – Aurora Towers – Dorabjee – Nehru Memorial Hall – Sadhu Vaswani Kunj – Shanti Kunj – Prem Kutir back to Revered Dadaji’s Sacred Samadhi (at about 8.30 pm).
Tuesday, November 24th – 10:00am onwards – Dada Mela: A fun filled program of sevas organized for poor and needy children followed by a play ‘Dada Leela’ will be enacted from 6:30pm onwards by the students of St. Mira’s Institution.
Wednesday, November 25 — Sadhu Vaswani’s Birthday and Guru Nanak’s Birthday – The day dawns with an animal camp, where hundreds of animals get free mouth vaccinations and other treatments. This camp is held, year after year, at Lavle Village. At the Mission in Pune, the celebrations start with seva first – service of the poor (Daridra Narayana Seva) at 10:30am followed by prayer sessions and talks by the Masters at 11:00am and 6:00pm.
At 11:30am, a floral tribute will be paid to Sadhu Vaswani by the Mayor of Pune Municipal Corporation at Sadhu Vaswani Chowk.
In the week of 18th to 24th November, St. Mira’s primary and secondary schools and the colleges will conduct various programs including community service at different institutions including Blind School and Eventide School. They will be hosting a question and answer session with Rev. Dada J.P. Vaswani also.
To commemorate Sadhu Vaswani’s birthday, November 25th is observed as International Meatless Day and Animals Rights Day. This Campaign, started in the year 1986, has been steadily gathering momentum. Last year, over 26, 02,661 individuals from all over the world pledged & 7, 64, 68,359 individuals supported the cause of the Meatless Day – November 25th. People are urged to give a free missed call to 18001230212 or pledge online at www.sak.org.in for observing the Meatless Day on November 25. The slogan being used for the campaign is “25th of November is a day to remember, it’s a Meatless Day”.
Free Cardiac Camp, Free OPDs and Other Sevas –
Different Services have been also organized including a free Cardiac Camp at Fabiani & Budhrani Heart Institute from 16th to 24th November. In Inlaks & Budhrani Hospital & M. N. Budhrani Cancer Institute, free OPD consultations and pathology investigations are available for 9th to 30th.
Every morning at 6:00 am tea & biscuits will be served to the homeless on the roadside. Every day, lunch will be served to the inmates for the Home of the Aged, the Blind and the Handicapped. Various other service programmes will be carried out including providing artificial limbs to the limbless.
