New Delhi: Roop Karnani, MD, Inspirations was honoured with the prestigious Chanakya Award for ‘Strategic Communications’ at the 9th Global Communication Conclave, organised by Public Relations Council of India (PRCI). The event was held on 13th March at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, where a lot of eminent personalities were awarded for their achievements and contribution to the industry. Karnani received a trophy, pin and a citation, at the hands of Jual Oram, Union Cabinet Minister for Tribal Welfare, in the presence of M. B. Jayram, Chairman Emeritus, PRCI (& Director, Karnataka Power Corporation), Ms. Vijayalakshmi, Vice-Chairperson, PRCI (& former DGM, Air India) and other dignitaries.
Some of the other eminent awardees in various categories were Rajiv Makhani, Group Managing Editor, NDTV; Mathew Hibberd from University of Stirling, London; Senior journalist Meera Bhardwaj, The New Indian Express; Girish Nikam of Rajyasabha TV, to name some, besides corporates like Godrej Group, Mumbai and L&T Metro, Hyderabad.
Karnani, former journalist, having worked as Technology Editor with Business India and Asst Editor with Business Today, received the award for his successful achievements as a PR person, heading the 15 year old company, Inspirations, which has organized over 800 press conferences & events in this span, operating not just in Pune, but pan-India as well as in Dubai (for the last 6 years), creating several milestones.
Inspirations has also invited celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Sushmita Sen, Sir Cliff Richard, Akshay kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Sharmila Tagore, Lara Datta, to name some.
