A Half Marathon on December18, 2016
- “Runathon of Hope 2016” is scheduled on Sunday, 18th December,2016-17 at 6.30 am at reserve ground for Mayor’s Bungalow, Sector 27-A, Near New Sant Tukaram Ground, Bhel Chowk, Nigdi Pradhikaran
- The registration form is available online (www.runathon.org)
- Online Registration: last date is 12 December 2016.
- The marathon will start from Mayor’s Bungalow to Akurdi Railway Station, D.Y.Patil Engineer College Akurdi, Hotel Blue Water to Dairy farm to Bhakati Shakti and ends at reserve ground for Mayor’s Bungalow.
- Discount will be given to walk in registration for the students of schools and colleges. Request to all students to please visit official address of Rotary Club of Nigdi.

“Runathon of Hope 2016-17” a Half Marathon organized by Rotary Club of Nigdi-Pune Charitable Trust; is all set to make its mark. This State Level event is in collaboration with and approved by the Maharashtra Athletic Association. “Runathon of Hope 2016-17” is scheduled on Sunday, 18th December, 2016 at 6.30 am at reserve ground for Mayor’s Bungalow plot, Opposite ICICI Bank, near Bhel Chowk, Nigdi.
At the press conference Rtn, Dr Shubhangi Kothari President Rotary club of Nigdi-Pune said, “The main objective of this event is to raise funds for various community based social service projects like infrastructure and facilities in villages related to water, sanitation, schools, literacy etc. The other areas are healthcare, empowerment of village youth and women.
Secretary Rtn Mr. Vijay Kalbhor added “We aim to execute a number of well-conceived, socially useful projects to bring about a sustainable and meaningful change and the funds raised via “Runathon of Hope 2016-17” will enable the dream of “Happy Village” come true.
The participants are from various walks of life, which include school children, college students, and executives from various industries. There will be about 10,000 participants for various races like 21.2 km, 10 km, 5 km, 5 km corporate, 3 km, & 2km.

Past President Rtn.Shrikrishna Karkare added “we aim to execute a number of well-conceived, socially useful projects to bring about a substantial and meaningful change in the infrastructure and facilities in villages. The fund thus raised will enable us bring the dream of “Happy Village” come true.
On this occasion President Elect Rtn. Hemant Kulkarni & Mr. Sahadev – GM of Double tree by Hilton were present. Rtn. Hemant Kulkarni gave vote of thanks. He said, “My sincere gratitude and appreciation to all of you that we all came together of the noble cause of serving our society together through Rotary club of Nigdi.”
