Chicago IL: Shree Umiya Dham Chicago Midwest (SUDCM) team unveiled the arrival details of Shree Umiya Mataji Jyoti Rath and upcoming of Umiya Mataji Temple on Monday – June 29, 2015 at Ashyana Banquets, in Downers Grove, IL This Jyoti Ruth planning meeting dinner was planned by Shree Umiya Mataji committee members on their own expense. The event included video highlights of Jyoti Rath Vidai Ceremony at Unjha, details of Shree Umiya Dham Project goals, mission and the current status, Mataji Rath activities, membership categories, financial commitments, open forum for questions, delicious food, and meeting the invited dignitaries.
The event started with appetizer, light refreshments, and the video highlights of Jyoti Rath Vidai Ceremony at Unjha, India. The session started with Narendra Patel introducing Devendra Patel to welcome everyone. Devendra Patel welcomed the guests and thanked them for attending the event.
Fortunately, the former speaker of the state of Gujarat, Dr. Mafatlal Patel, was a special guest for this event. SUDCM team requested Devendra Patel to invite Dr. Patel to share his thoughts on the Patidar Community. Dr. Patel appealed for unity among all Patidars in the United States and congratulated SUDCM team for their efforts in bringing this event and Shree Umiya Mataji temple project to the Chicagoland area. His speech was so informative on the history of Kadva Patidars that the audience chanted ‘Shree Umiya Mata Ki Jai!!’ and the whole atmosphere was holy and spiritual. The crowd kept chanting slogans before the program moved further.
Devendra Patel invited Narendra Patel to introduce current working committee members.
SUDCM’s working team was introduced by Narendra Patel as – AP Patel, Ashvin (Andy) Patel, Brijesh Patel, Chhotalal Patel, Dashrath (DV) Patel, Devendra Patel, Dharmisth Patel, Dilip Patel, Dipak Desai, Dipal Patel, Dr. Hemant Patel, Jayantibhai (JP) Patel, Jatin Patel, Jitu Patel, Lalbhai Patel, Manoj Patel, Narendra Patel, Pankaj Patel, Revabhai Patel, Shailesh (Sam) Patel, and Vijay Patel.
Narendra Patel then introduced Chhotalal Patel as a person who believes strongly in the importance of the social, religious and moral values it instills in the youth, giving back to the community and spreading good karma. He is a pillar of strength for our Patidar society and always eager to help any cause, big or small.
Chhotalal welcomed all invited guests and thanked everyone who has helped in organizing this memorable event as this project is very close to his heart. He feels privileged and honored to be part of the SUDCM project. He believes in the current committee’s vision, hard work and leadership, and believes that the Shree Umiya Dham (Mataji temple) will become a reality. He was thankful to Narendra & Devendra Patel for being intricate players in bringing the community together.
Chhotalal also briefed about the mission of the Shree Umiya Dham. He believes that using religion harmony in name of Umiya Mataji will bring community together, provide a forum for religious worship celebration, social as well as cultural development and most importantly bringing all generation together in the region. He also stressed that the upcoming Shree Umiya Dham project will start with Umiya Mataji Mandir, large community hall, and expands down the road to build a sports activities facility, retirement home, as well as a funeral home, all of which should serve the needs of communities for decades to come.
Jayantibhai (JP) Patel briefed the audience about the Jyoti Rath Vidai Celebration that took place on May 20th, 2015 in Unjha, India. JP further briefed that Shree Umiya Dham Committee members from USA attended the event along with two thousand local community members. The Jyoti Rath program was celebrated with fireworks, musical band, and mataji garba in presence of all committee members of Shree Umiya Mata Sanstha. SUDCM visiting team enjoyed hospitality of Shree Umiya Mataji Santha Unjha management team. They made sure that no one was left without prasadum from the mandir after the Rathyatra in the town.
Jyoti Rath will arrive in the few weeks and will be kept temporarily in Carol Stream at 457 St. Paul Boulevard until a permanent home is found. Narendra Patel provided details of the Jyoti Rath Swagat Ceremony that will take place in the Odeum Sports & Expo Center of Villa Park. Tentative date was announced on or about August 29 and 30 of this year. Over 5,000 or more are expected to attend the event. Vijay and Ashvin(Andy) Patel provided details of the Jyoti Rath arrival and Rath Padharamni process. They announced August 29th as SUDCM garba and Uchamani(auction) Night and invited all guests to be present and participate in the event.
Chhotalal Patel provided details of membership categories for SUDCM and thanked all donors who committed around half a million dollars’ worth revenue. He also praised excellent work by the current working committee for securing such commitment. Chhotalal also mentioned that the dedication and hard work from all of the committee members has brought him great joy.
Ashvin(Andy) Patel and Jatin Patel provided a list of different categories for donations. Uchamni(auction) will take place on August 29th Garba night for August 30th event-Jyoti Rath reception day- and award events. They requested all community members to attend this function.
Before serving dinner SUDCM team presented selected panel to answers any question they may have from invited guests. There were quite a few interesting questions and the panel answered them truthfully until everyone was satisfied with the details. At the end, Suresh Bodiwala gathered everyone for group photos.
The audience was thrilled and fascinated by the presentation, information, and most importantly the videos of Shree Umiya Mataji Jyoti Rath. This event was attended by community leaders such as Mafatbhai Patel, Jayantibhai Patel, Mithabhai Patel, Dr.Hinaben Patel, Haribhai Patel, Dahyabhai Prajapati, Babubhai Patel, Khodabhai Patel, Mansukhbhai Patel, Dr. AJ Pate, Ambalal Patel, Shankar Patel, Gordhan Patel, Hasmukh (HK) Patel, Vinod Patel, Kanti Patel, Sitaram Patel, Harshad Desai, Sonal Patel, and all successful businessmen and prominent professionals.
