Deepavali (or Diwali) is just around the corner and everyone is busy gearing up for the festival of lights not just in India but around the world. Being a multi-cultural society, Singaporeans have always been very passionate about their festivals and they are celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm.
Dozens of Hindu families all around Singapore turn their homes into enclaves of warm golden light even as they offer prayers, exchange gifts and share sweets with their loved ones. From the 2nd of September to the 12th of November 2017, Little India is the best place for visitors to get into the festive mood as the Deepavali Street Light-Up takes place along Serangoon Road and Race Course Road from 7pm to 12 midnight.
