Infosys deploys a host of digital innovations for #RG19 for an enriched and immersive experience for tennis fans, media, players and coaches
India: As Roland-Garros’ official digital innovation partner, Infosys (NYSE: INFY), a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting, is deploying its digital innovations at the tournament, based on artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, analytics, social sentiment analysis, and virtual and augmented reality.
Visitors to the Infosys fan zone at Roland-Garros will be able to enjoy a unique and immersive experience in virtual reality. Fans can feel the thrill of playing tennis inside a life-like recreation of the Philippe-Chatrier, as well as being able to interact with each other via twin VR headsets and a new concept called ‘Social VR’.
Infosys, which signed a strategic three-year partnership with Roland-Garros, has also designed a series of digital tools to let tennis fans, at home or at Roland-Garros, understand the matches in more detail by reinventing traditional tennis match stats and data.MatchBeats allows fans to follow live scores in a whole new immersive fashion, Courtvision, is a 3D analytical tool to delve deep into match-stats and uncover match patterns, and Stats+ helps statistics become more meaningful by re-ordering stats based on which had the biggest influence on the outcome of the match.
Infosys has also focused on creating fun experiences via gamification. Social HeatMap is a new way to showcase the social engagement of Roland-Garros across the world, ranking the top brand ambassadors of Roland-Garros on social media as well as highlighting the trending celebrities and players. Slam Leaderboards is another new data based innovation that ranks the top players based on their match stats. These features are all available on the official Roland-Garros website.
For players and their coaches, Infosys has developed StatsLounge, a platform to study and analyse both their own and their opponents’ strengths and weaknesses during the tournament. The powerful video and data based analytical portal promises to be a game-changer for players and coaches to help them analyse and strategise during Roland-Garros.
