Lok Sabha Speaker Smt.Sumitra Mahajan to inaugurate national conference on safe and sustainable hospitals(SASH-2016) at AFMC on 12th November
As India accelerates investments in the healthcare sector and gains a stronger standing in the global healthcare, the need for a platform that brings together professionals from different areas has come to the fore. The National Conference on Safe and Sustainable Hospitals (SASH-2016) is being held in Pune to address these imperatives. Smt. Sumitra Mahajan, Speaker of the 16th Lok Sabha, will inaugurate SASH 2016 on November 12, 2016 at 11 A M. Guests of honour will be Justic V S Kokje, Formerly Governor of Himachal Pradesh and Air Marshal Pawan Kapoor,VSM, Director General Medical Services ( Indian Air Force).
The conference is being organized by the Academy of Hospital Administration, (Western Regional Chapter) in association with the Department of Hospital Administration, Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune. SASH 2016 will be held at the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, between November 11 and 13, 2016. Academic partners include Bharati Vidyapeeth, Symbiosis International University, Jehangir Hospital, Inamdar Hospital, KEM Hospital and Sahayadri Hospital.
Eminent personalities who are expected to attend the deliberations include Surg Vice Admiral Bipin Puri, VSM, Director General Medical Services (Indian Navy), Dr A Velumani, CEO, Thyrocare, Dr Vivek Desai, MD, Hosmac India Pvt Ltd and Ms. Sangeeta Reddy, Executive Director, Apollo Hospitals Groups.
In addition to discussing trends and opportunities that are fuelling the healthcare industry in India at present, SASH 2016 will create a veritable platform for students and young medical professionals to present their perspectives on important issues through academic research presentations and poster displays.
Day 1 of SASH 2016 on 11 November 2016 will be exclusively for students and budding administrators. The highlights of the day will a workshop by established hospital administrators, scientific paper presentation, poster presentation, quiz on ‘Management in Healthcare’, and a ‘Solution Making’ session for administrative challenges in healthcare.
Days 2 and 3 of the conference, on November 12 and 13, respectively, will feature a vast line-up of sessions and addresses for healthcare professionals. The key focus areas will be discussions and deliberation on burning issues such as end-of-life care, critical healthcare costs, patient’s rights, healthcare insurance, health care economics, medical informatics, medical tourism, green hospitals, and branding and marketing in healthcare.
The event will see an array of professionals working in the healthcare and ancillary industries share a common platform to discuss issues challenges, opportunities, and trends that are shaping the future of the healthcare industry in India. In attendance at SASH 2016 will be doctors, hospital agencies, hospital owners and administrators, health administration and management students, architects, civil engineers, interior designers, and purchase professionals and suppliers from across India.
SASH 2016 will focus on presenting recent innovations in healthcare management and update participants on current research, trends in professional development, and emerging healthcare education areas. “In the contemporary scenario, many external factors are steering the direction of the healthcare industry.
