Sony has finally brought to India its latest flagship phones, the Sony Xperia Z5 and the Xperia Z5 Premium. The flagship Sony Xperia Z5 is priced Rs 52,990, while the Xperia Z5 Premium with the world’s first 4K display will be available at Rs 62,990.
The Xperia Z5 will be available from October 23 while the Z5 Premium will hit the stores only on November 7. Sony has decided not to bring the more affordable Xperia Z5 Compact to India, probably because of the lack of interest in mid-range phones in the market.
The Sony Xperia Z5 has 5.2-inch full HD screen, Android Lollipop 5.1, 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 (MSM8994); Adreno 430 GPU, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage (expandable to 200 GB). The camera in the Z5 series is the 23 mp in the rear and 5 mp camera on the front and features what Sony claims is the world’s fastest auto focus at just 0.03 seconds. The Z5 has a 2900 mAh battery.
The Z5 Premium has similar specs as the Z5 apart from the 4K screen and a bigger 3430 mAh battery to power this high-resolution display.
The Xperia Z5 will be available in Gold, Green and Black colour options, while the Premium will come in Gold and Chrome.
Customers who will buy the new Sony smartphones will also get content worth over Rs 4,000 along with their devices, which includes three months subscription to Sony Music and unlimited downloads to own content worth Rs 1500.
Xperia Z5 customers will also get free three months subscription to Sony LIV worth Rs 299, Amazon Kindle e-books worth Rs 1000, 3 months subscription to Hungama Play worth Rs 750. Sony is also bundling the smart cover and fast charger for free improving the overall value of the offering.
