Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is worshipped like a God in Maharashtra. He was an ideal ruler with Jijabai was his mother and mentor. In fact, she was a mother to the entire Maratha Empire under her mentorship. It was perhaps the Destiny’s wish that Shivaji was born to Jijabai and rose to the heights of Statesmanship. Jijabai fought against all odds to guide Shivaji into realizing the dream of Swarajya – self-rule, that she and her husband Shahaji Raje saw together.
Raaj Maata – she was a courageous warrior and a judicious and a tolerant leader. A tele-serial on the life story of this iconic woman and mother will roll out on Sony Marathi channel from 19 August 2019. This was announced through in Mumbai where producer of the serial Dr. Amol Kolhe, Actress Amruta Pawar who plays Jijabai, Nishtha Vaidya who plays the child Jijabai and Sony Marathi’s Business Head Ajay Bhalwankar were present at the launch.
The title song of the serial, establishing the greatness of Jijabai was released during the launch. Lyricist of the song Mandar Cholkar, music director Satyajit Ranade, director of the serial Vivek Deshpande, writer Vivek Apte and Mandar Thosar were also present on the occasion.
This is the second production of Dr Amol Kolhe’s Jagadamb Creations that rekindles the Marathi pride and the glorious the history of Maharashtra. “The idea behind producing this serial is that the story ofJijau is extremely relevant in the present times and will certainly inspire the young generation,” said Dr Amol Kolhe, adding that Swarajya Janani JIjamata is not just another serial but a historic document which will leave a cultural impact on people of Maharashtra.
