11-city tour will be hosted under Supermoon Music, a Zee Live IP
Mumbai: As if setting an attendance record for a comic act in India wasn’t enough, Zee Live’s Supermoon is now set to rock India with one of the rising stars of the country, singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad. Launched on April 2019, Supermoon is the flagship IP of Zee Live. The platform is transforming India’s live entertainment space by touring with the best of live entertainment acts in the country.
Supermoon is over the, well, moon to announce an 11-city India tour with popular Indian singer-songwriter and musician Prateek Kuhad. His most ambitious project so far, Prateek Kuhad’s Winter Tour will cover shows across 8 countries, including USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Spain, and India. The India leg will have shows across 11 cities starting October 10 in Hyderabad and ending on December 22 in Delhi, including shows in cities like Surat, Pune, Mumbai. The India shows will take place in auditoriums and outdoor venues across the 11 cities.
Kuhad’s India Tour comes over a year since the release of cold/mess which hit #1 on iTunes India charts upon release in July 2018 and has been streamed by millions of fans around the world. Kuhad also became one of the most-streamed Indian artists on Spotify, within weeks of the streaming service’s launch in India.
Kuhad is already one of the most influential figures in the Indian independent music firmament. And he has the recognition to prove it. He has won the MTV Europe Music Award, the Indie Album of the Year Award from iTunes, and was named Best Pop Artist at the Radio City Freedom Awards. Over the past few months, Prateek has seen his fan base build across borders and oceans. Splitting his time between New York and New Delhi, the 29-year-old singer-songwriter is well on his way to becoming a truly global artist with a global fan-base.
“The past year has been really humbling,” says Prateek of the year in which he toured the US and UK. “I’ve already got to tour and play to fans in so many parts of the world. Excited to get on the road again and play to fans in India with Zee Live’s Supermoon!” he adds.
Swaroop Banerjee, COO, Zee Live, said: “Supermoon is a passion project and diversity within the offering is the key. Already, we’ve tasted huge success with Russell Peters’ shows under Supermoon Comic. Now we’re bringing in independent artists like Kuhad. He is making waves, especially on digital platforms. Given his standing, we opted for a large canvas by hosting shows in 11 cities. That fits in well with our approach for the Supermoon flagship – soul-touching, larger-than-life performances. But, this is only the beginning. Expect a massive variety of acts that will cater to various age groups and demographics.”
