Tabla Player Anubrat Chaterjee, son of Tabla Maestro, Anindo Chaterjee receives Ustad Mohammad Hanif Khan Mirajkar Yuva Puraskar.
Pune based Taal Vishwa had proudly presented Swar Trinaad – a memorial concert to mark the 51st Memorial concert (Barsi) of legendary Tabla Maestro Ustad Mehboob Khan Saheb Mirajkar and 2nd Barsi of his son Ustad Mohammad Hanif Khan Saheb Mirajkar at Abasaheb Garware College Hall.
The event was started off with talents show-cased by senior Tabla students of Temple of Fine Arts International, from Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. In the second session,”Swar Trinaad”, a trio of melodies was performed by the esteemed artists Sunil Avachat (flute), Dhananjay Daithankar (santoor) and Manish Pingle (slide guitar). They perfomed on Raag Rageshwaree and teen taal. They were accompanied by Nawaz Mirajkar and Ketan Bidwe on Tabla.
At the concert, every year, it has been a tradition to honor and felicitate one musician with the prestigious ‘Taal Vishwa Ustad Mehboob khan saheb Award’ for exemplary contribution to Indian classical music. This year, Taalvishwa presented Ustad Mohammad Hanif Khan Mirajkar Yuva Puraskar to the Tabla Player Anubrat Chaterjee, son of Tabla Maestro, Anindo Chaterjee at the hands of Sitarist Ust. Usman Khan Saheb.
The musical evening ended with the solo Tabla performance by an awrdee Anubrat Chaterjee. He presented various styles of different Gharanas such as Ajrada, Lakhnow and Delhi. He also presented his father, Pt. Anindo Chaterjee’s few compositions.
The show was organized by Nawaj and Rizwan Mirajkar and hosted by Siddharth Bendre.
