Over the years, the centre has organized a number of tournaments and competitions alongwith sports related educational lectures delivered by stalwarts from the industry.
Shri Sharad Pawar, Former- Minister of Agriculture, Government of India, appreciated the efforts put in by Symbiosis Society and SSC in felicitating sport centres of such rich history. “I have been associated with most of the centres in my former days as a Sports Minister. Some centres were established 100 years back, and I have too many memories associated with them. I am glad that the award wasn’t given to a person but to the organization. This shows the value and efforts a centre puts in to make a sports star.
“The value of Padma Shri title has increased since it was conferred upon Murlikant Petkar,” he concludes.
