Indira Bhavan is a prestigious business centre located at the heart of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh
UP, March 01, 2019: Syska Group, the pioneers of LED Lights in India have illuminated Prayagraj’s iconic & prestigious landmark, Indira Bhavan, for Kumbh Mela 2019. Indirabhavan is a heritage building that serves as a Government business centre and is located at Civil Lines, the central business district of Prayagraj that is famous for its urban setting. Kumbh Mela which witnesses a footfall of more than 100 million is the world’s largest spiritual gathering – The Ardh Kumbh in Prayag. Syska has lit up Indirabhavan with its products during Kumbh Mela, as this is the time millions of tourists from across the country & globe visit the holy city.
As Indirabhavan has been recently renovated and artistically painted, it was an opportune time for Syska to illuminate the iconic structure that is famous for its art installations. The project was initiated after identifying suitable areas to light up the façade at night, thereby enhancing the building’s charm and architectural beauty. The aim was to make the building alluring, attract tourists including high-end retailers and shoppers.
Commenting on this project, Rajesh Uttamchandani, Director, Syska Group said, “We are extremely pleased to be a part of the Kumbh Mela this year, by illuminating the most prestigious building at Prayagraj. By illuminating the building with Syska façade lighting, we are happy to have made a small contribution to such an important festival that sees pilgrims & visitors from across the globe.”
Shantanu Gupta, Curator of Kumbh Art Festival, partnered with SYSKA to implement the Indra Bhavan, Prayag Wall artwork and illumination. Shantanu, also the founder of YUVA Foundation said, “Over years we as Indians have not focused on the urban aesthetics of our cities. Through large scale wall art festivals my team at YUVA foundation is trying to reverse that scenario. Under #AyodhyaArtFest and #KumbhArtFest, we have created cultural artwork on public and private walls in Ayodhya and Prayag.”
Shantanu added that “Going forward, my team will partner with various organizations and go to many cultural, spiritual and heritage towns of India, to add colours and culture to their walls so that the cities reflect their character through their walls”.
The art installations at the 10 storeyed Indirabhavan depict the art & culture of Prayagraj. With Syska’s LED lights, these artistic images look more impressive during both day and night without impacting the overall structure of the building.
