THAILAND: Honda’s Marc Marquez kept the crowd on the edge of their seats at the Thailand Grand Prix, putting on a spectacular performance in the Sprint Race to secure fourth place. Starting from the third row, Marquez battled his way through the top 12, saving himself and his tire for the end of the race. Despite dropping to sixth place, Marquez dug deep and put it all on the line in the final two laps, passing Bezzecchi and entering into an intense battle with Aleix Espargaro for fourth place. In a repeat of the 2019 World Championship, the race came down to the final corner, and Marquez slipped ahead to seal fourth place.

Joan Mir also put on an impressive performance, recovering seven places to finish in 12th position after a difficult Q1 session. Mir was immediately in attack mode, making up a handful of places in the first corners and matching the lap times of the top ten. Content with the speed he showed, Mir is hoping to put his learning into action on Sunday and return to a point-scoring finish.

The Thailand Grand Prix was an intense day of MotoGP action, with lap records falling from almost the first moment of the day. The main event, the Thai GP, is scheduled to start at 15:00 Local Time on October 29, 2023, and will run over 26 laps.

Overall, Honda’s Marc Marquez and Joan Mir put on impressive performances at the Thailand Grand Prix, showcasing their skills and determination on the track.

Marc Marquez said, “It was a really busy day today, it’s always like that when you go through Q1. The team did a really good job and we were able to improve, I could ride in a better way and made it to Q2. From starting on the third row we were able to stay in contact with the front group and we were able to put on a good show and have a fun race. The Sprint overall was much better than I expected, we made a good start and battled until the end. The last corner was the opposite of 2019, I attacked and made it stick instead of defending from someone else’s attack. It looks like I have the correct braking point at that corner!”

Quote from Joan Mirth) “It was a harder day than I was expecting. Starting from the 19th you have a lot to deal with and even when you have the speed like we had today, there’s still a lot of work to do. Finishing 12th is not bad, it was quite a real position and I think we need to be content with what’s been achieved today. My pace wasn’t for the top five, but certainly, if we started ahead we could have been there in the points. Anyway, we learned some more about the bike and we will use this knowledge.”

NEW DELHI: Delighting its customers, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India today launched the new OBD2-compliant 2023 Unicorn.

Speaking on the launch of the new OBD2-compliant 2023 Unicorn, Mr. Tsutsumu Otani – President, CEO & Managing Director, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, “During its 2-decades existence, the Unicorn remains a preferred choice among Indian motorcyclists. This launch reinforces our commitment to offering models that combine power, efficiency, and comfort meeting the latest emission norms. We extend gratitude to our loyal customers for their support.”

Introducing the new OBD2-compliant 2023 Unicorn, Mr. Yogesh Mathur, Director, of Sales & Marketing, at Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, “Honda Unicorn has consistently set trends in its segment with its unparalleled style, design, power, and advanced ergonomics. The new OBD2-compliant PGM-FI engine takes it a step further, delivering heightened efficiency, seamless power delivery, and adhering to the latest standards. Adding to the thrill, the new Unicorn now comes in the captivating Pearl Siren Blue color. We are excited to bring this motorcycle to our valued customers and eagerly look forward to extraordinary journeys they will embark on with their Honda Unicorn.”

Smooth & efficient engine

Honda’s latest technology makes the 2023 Unicorn ready for the next era of transformation. At the heart of 2023, Unicorn ticks BSVI OBD2 compliant Honda’s mid-size advanced 160cc PGM-FI engine that provides greater performance and superior efficiency.

The advanced & efficient engine is specially designed to deliver good low-end torque and fuel efficiency. The compression ratio of 10:1 leads to punchy performance. Smooth power delivery is ensured with a rocker arm which helps in the reduction of friction losses. The new engine also comes equipped with a counterweight balancer which reduces vibrations and helps in delivering smooth acceleration from low to high rpm.

Comfort & Convenience

New 2023 Unicorn comes equipped with ABS (Anti-brake system) that gives an enhanced braking performance on the roads. New Unicorn comes fitted with front & rear tubeless tyres that prevent immediate deflation in case of a puncture.

The high-performance Rear Mono Shock suspension is housed below the seat and mounted on the advanced tough and flexible diamond frame. It offers superior riding comfort and excellent stability. High ground clearance (187mm) and long wheelbase (1335mm) inspire rider confidence and comfort. A long seat (715mm) provides ample space for comfortable long-distance travel. It comes with a seal chain which needs less frequent adjustments and low maintenance. The Engine Stop Switch provides the convenience of turning off the engine on brief stops with the flick of a button.

Decent & Premium Style

Broad front cowl with smoked screen and voluminous tank creates a macho bold character. Chrome stroke on the side cover, chrome garnish on the front cowl, and 3D Honda Wing Mark on the fuel tank add an appeal of premiums to the motorcycle. The signature tail lamp design and meter console amplifies its distinctive personality.

Value and reliability for customer

As another industry first, HMSI is offering a special 10-year warranty package NEW (3 years standard + 7 years optional extended warranty) on 2023 Unicorn.

2023 Unicorn is available in 4 color options – Pearl Igneous Black, Imperial Red Metallic, Mat Axis Gray Metallic & Pearl Siren Blue. The new 2023 Unicorn is priced attractively at Rs. 1,09,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
