PUNE: We live in an era where the average Indian professional is a walking encyclopaedia of financial terms, yet our retirement preparedness remains surprisingly fragile. While we can effortlessly navigate app-based investments and discuss global market trends, a peculiar psychological fog sets in when we look thirty years down the road. We are a nation that acknowledges the need for retirement planning in theory, but treats it as a “non-urgent luxury” in practice. This is the Awareness-Action Divide, and bridging it is no longer just a financial goal; it is a necessity for personal dignity.

Most Indian households fall victim to optimism bias, the deep-seated belief that “things will work out” or that a future windfall will solve our problems. We prioritize the “now” over the “later,” often diverting potential retirement savings toward immediate life-stage costs like lavish weddings or a child’s foreign education.

Anurag Gupta, Director & Chief Business Officer, Partnership Channel, Axis Max Life Insurance Ltd, said, “Data from the India Retirement Index Study (IRIS) 5.0 reveals a persistent Dependency Bias, with a significant portion of Indians still viewing their children as their ultimate safety net. However, as urban migration and nuclear families become the norm, this cultural contract is fraying. Coupled with Inaction Bias, the tendency to procrastinate because the goal feels too distant to be tangible, we find ourselves in a state of “disciplined delay,” waiting for a “perfect time” to start that never actually arrives.“

Decoding the Gap – The Math of Reality

High financial literacy has not yet translated into emotional ownership. We understand an “Annuity” as a product, but not as a future lifeline. To bridge the gap, we must look at the “hidden thief” of retirement: Inflation.

Consider the cost of basic sustenance. If your monthly household expenses, groceries, fuel, and utilities, are ₹50,000 today, the compounding effect of inflation (historically around 6% for basic commodities) creates a staggering future liability:

In 10 years: That same lifestyle will cost roughly ₹89,500.

In 20 years: It jumps to ₹1,60,000.

In 30 years: You will need nearly ₹2,87,000 every month just to maintain your current standard of living.

The IRIS 5.0 findings suggest that while India’s overall retirement index score has improved to 46, the “Financial” pillar continues to lag. Many Indians are saving, but they are not saving enough to counter the eroding power of inflation over a 20-to-30-year horizon.

The Health-Wealth Intersection: A striking insight from IRIS 5.0 is the rise of the Health Preparedness Index. Retirement planning is no longer just about “income replacement”; it is about medical dignity.

With healthcare costs in India rising at nearly double the rate of general inflation, financial ownership is your only shield against becoming a financial burden on your family. In Tier 2 and 3 geographies, the shift away from joint family structures means “Self-Reliance” is no longer a choice, but a geographic-neutral necessity. A medical emergency in your 70s requires immediate liquidity, not a piece of illiquid ancestral land.

The traditional Indian obsession with “Lumpy Assets”, gold and vacant land, needs a modern rethink. We often see retirees who are “asset rich but cash poor.” You cannot liquidate a small fraction of a gold biscuit or a square foot of land immediately to pay a monthly pharmacy bill or electricity charge.

This is the Liquidity Trap. IRIS 5.0 highlights that a vast majority of Indian retirement savings are locked in instruments that do not offer regular, predictable cash flow. The goal is to ensure the “kitchen fire keeps burning” every month. This requires a shift toward Annuities and pension products that provide a steady, guaranteed stream of income, ensuring your wealth is accessible exactly when you need it.

The Three-Step Ownership Roadmap

To move from being a bystander to an owner, one should follow this simplified framework:

The Mirror Test: Calculate what you actually spend today. This is your non-negotiable baseline.

The Gap Analysis: IRIS 5.0 shows that many believe employer-provided funds (EPF) are sufficient. In reality, these often cover less than 40% of the required retirement corpus. Identify your specific shortfall.

The Micro-Start: Ownership begins with the first premium. The magic of compounding values time more than the ticket size. Starting small today is infinitely better than starting “big” five years too late.

Perhaps the most telling data point from IRIS 5.0 is the correlation between planning and mental well-being. Early planners report significantly lower anxiety levels and higher overall life satisfaction. Retirement ownership is not just about having a bank balance tomorrow; it is about having Mental Peace today.

When you bridge the divide between knowing and doing, you reclaim control over your future. Moving from a “reader” to a “policyholder” is the single most important act of self-care you can perform. Start today, because your future self is counting on your action, not just your awareness.

Insights from Axis Max Life India Protection Quotient 7.0:

West Zone records a Protection Quotient higher than the national urban average

Term insurance awareness and ownership rise significantly in the zone

Mumbai leads among metros in Protection Quotient; Shares top position in Knowledge Index with Bengaluru

1 in 3 respondents cite financial constraints as a key barrier to term plan purchase

Insurance coverage now overtakes premium as the top factor in term insurance purchase

Citizens from the West Zone increasingly invest with intent – child’s education, marriage, and old age security top priorities

PUNE: Axis Max Life Insurance Limited. (“Axis Max Life” / “Company”), formerly known as Max Life Insurance Company Limited, has unveiled the West Zone findings of the seventh edition of its flagship survey – India Protection Quotient (IPQ), conducted in partnership with KANTAR, the world’s leading marketing data and analytics company. The findings from the West Zone reveal a steady improvement in protection sentiment, led by rising awareness of term insurance and growing intent to use life insurance as a tool for long-term financial planning.

Axis Max Life is launching the India Protection Quotient 7.0 under the unified narrative of ‘Bharosa Talks’ that will spotlight India’s evolving financial and protection mindset. Through this platform, Axis Max Life aims to amplify real voices across demographics – urban, rural, salaried, gig workers, and retirees, offering authentic insights into how India views protection, planning, and long-term security. As financial anxieties shift over time and aspirations evolve, Bharosa Talks will serve as a critical pulse for industry, regulators, and policymakers to understand emerging consumer priorities.

As per IPQ 7.0, the Protection Quotient in the West Zone has maintained a score one point higher than the national urban average, reaffirming the region’s consistent progress in life insurance awareness and confidence. While security and ownership levels remain stable, a significant uptick in term plan awareness and adoption has contributed to the zone’s strong standing.

Sumit Madan, Chief Distribution Officer, Axis Max Life, said, “The West Zone’s sustained progress in the Protection Quotient reflects a clear shift in consumer mindset. IPQ 7.0 points to a maturing market, especially among the salaried class and metro residents in cities like Mumbai, where people are moving beyond basic insurance ownership toward more purpose-driven financial planning. More consumers are now prioritizing adequate term coverage over low premiums, with long-term family goals at the center of their decisions. This signals a deeper understanding of life insurance as a key pillar of financial security. While this progress is encouraging, affordability remains a barrier, particularly for the self-employed. This presents a clear opportunity for the Indian life insurance industry to innovate with more flexible, inclusive solutions and to strengthen advisory outreach. Doing so will not only expand access but also play a vital role in building a more resilient and financially protected India.”

The IPQ 7.0 study continues to shine a light on evolving consumer behaviour across India, with the West Zone’s performance offering both insights and inspiration for other regions seeking to strengthen financial protection and awareness.

West Zone Outpaces National Average in Protection Preparedness: IPQ 7.0

The West Zone has outperformed the national urban average in the latest India Protection Quotient (IPQ) 7.0, underscoring a growing shift toward protection-led financial planning. With a Protection Quotient (PQ) one point higher than the national urban average, the region demonstrates rising awareness and an evolving approach to life insurance, despite lingering financial barriers.

Protection Quotient and Knowledge Index on the Rise

The findings highlight a notable uptick in the Knowledge Index among West Zone respondents, indicating improved understanding of insurance products and financial planning. While life insurance ownership and perceived financial security have remained stable, the overall Protection Quotient growth signals increasing intent toward safeguarding future financial well-being.

Term Insurance: Coverage Now Trumps Cost

For the first time, West Zone citizens have shown a clear preference for coverage over premium when buying term insurance. This represents a fundamental behavioural shift, aligning with a broader national trend that favours adequate protection over affordability alone. The zone has seen a marked increase in both awareness and ownership of term plans, cementing its position as a growing hub of insurance-conscious consumers.

Investment Motivated by Family-Centric Goals

The report also reveals a more values-driven approach to investing, with over 40% of West Zone respondents citing goal-based investing as their strategy. Key financial priorities include children’s education, marriage, retirement planning, and purchasing assets such as homes and cars — all pointing toward a more holistic and purpose-led financial mindset.

Persistent Financial Constraints Remain a Challenge

Despite this progress, financial constraints continue to hinder broader adoption. One in three respondents in the West Zone cite premium affordability as a major barrier, particularly among self-employed individuals and first-time insurance buyers. This underlines the need for flexible, accessible insurance products and greater financial literacy efforts to close the protection gap.

Salaried Individuals Drive Regional Growth

The PQ surge in the West is largely driven by salaried professionals, who have shown significant improvement in their Knowledge Index. In contrast, self-employed individuals have exhibited stagnant performance across key indicators, suggesting the need for targeted advisory services and more inclusive product outreach.

Mumbai Leads Among Metros

Among major metropolitan areas, Mumbai has emerged as the top performer in Protection Quotient within the West Zone, and shares the top rank in the Knowledge Index with Bengaluru. The city reflects high engagement with insurance products and a strong sense of financial preparedness, positioning it as a model for urban financial resilience.

PUNE: FICCI FLO Pune, in collaboration with Ayugen Biosciences and Roche Diagnostics, organized Shield Her Future – Cervical Forum 2025, a dedicated awareness program focusing on cervical cancer prevention, diagnosis, and early screening.

The event featured esteemed medical professionals and public health leaders, with Dr. Gauravi Mishra, Deputy Director of the Center for Cancer Epidemiology at Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, as the Guest of Honour. Anita Agarwal, Chairperson, FICCI FLO Pune, and Manish Punglia, Director, AyuGen Biosciences, along with other dignitaries, were present on the occasion.

The second half of the program featured a powerful panel discussion moderated by Dr. Sandeep Sewlikar, Head of Medical Affairs, Roche Diagnostics. Panelists included Dr. Harshad Parasnis, Gynecological Oncologist, Dr. Milind Dugad, Past Vice President, POGS, Dr. Aarti Nimkar, Past President, POGS, and Manish Punglia, Molecular Genomics Expert

Dr. Mishra emphasized the urgency of the issue, stating, “We know the exact cause of cervical cancer and how to diagnose and prevent it. Yet India bears one-fifth of the global burden, with over 1.3 lakh women diagnosed annually—many at advanced stages. This is a cancer that is both preventable and curable if detected early.”

She highlighted that persistent infection with high-risk oncogenic HPV is the only cause. The symptoms that may arise at a later stage include bleeding between two periods and that too frequently, bleeding after sexual intercourse, post menopausal bleeding or spotting, foul-smelling vaginal discharge, etc. Dr. Mishra also advocated for routine screening beginning at age 30, noting that pre-cancerous stages can be identified and treated effectively.

Dr. Aarti Nimkar stressed the importance of shifting perceptions: “We must overcome the myth that cervical cancer cannot be treated. With timely screening and treatment, cervical cancer can be treated .”

Dr. Meenu Agarwal emphasized the need for regular checkups.

Elaborating on symptoms in later stages, Dr. Milind Dugad said that when HPV is persistent, it may not give any signs; therefore, it is important to do screening, especially after the age of 30 years, even if they have taken vaccines.

Talking about the guidelines, Dr.Harshad Parasnis said that screening methods are available, such as a Pap test, where we pick up the changes in the cells, whether mild, moderate, or severe. The other test is where we pick up the virus, and that is known as the HPV test.

Manish Punglia, Director AyuGen, echoed these sentiments: “In an age of medical and technological advancement, it is unacceptable that cervical cancer still claims so many lives. This forum is not just about creating awareness, but about driving the message that cervical cancer is preventable.”

PUNE: Plastic pollution is not just an environmental issue but a systemic crisis affecting our planet and future generations. Without a global commitment to reducing plastic production, efforts to clean up our rivers, oceans, and ecosystems will always lag behind the ever-growing tide of plastic waste. This is the urgent message shared by Pune’s budding environmental warrior, Prasanna Mahesh Pawar, an 11th-grade student from SNBP School, Manjari.

Prasanna has been actively involved in environmental conservation from a young age, participating in activities such as tree plantation drives, air pollution reduction initiatives, sustainable energy projects, and campaigns against water and soil pollution. However, it was plastic pollution that he identified as one of the most pressing global challenges.

Understanding the Plastic Crisis

Every day, tons of plastic waste are generated worldwide, contaminating our water, soil, and air. Being non-biodegradable, plastic breaks down into microplastics, which easily infiltrate our natural resources. Studies have shown that humans unknowingly consume microplastics daily through food, water, and air. Alarmingly, traces of plastic chemicals have been found in human blood, brain, breast milk, feces, heart, lungs, stomach, kidneys, and liver. The biggest question remains: What impact will this have on future generations? How can society mitigate this growing threat, and how can we protect ourselves and our loved ones?

Prasanna’s Mission: Creating Awareness and Driving Change

With these concerns in mind, Prasanna embarked on a mission to educate communities about plastic hazards and practical solutions. He has conducted awareness workshops in residential societies, where he provides guidelines on plastic waste segregation, sustainable alternatives, and innovative recycling techniques. His sessions encourage people to take proactive steps toward reducing plastic pollution and contribute to a cleaner, greener environment.

Recently, Prasanna participated in a science exhibition at Dr. Nanasaheb Parulekar School, Pratik Nagar, Yerwada, where he led a project with 10 students from the Burmashell slum area. Together, they developed a model demonstrating how plastic waste can be segregated and recycled to produce oil and gas for fuel consumption. This experience reaffirmed his belief in the curiosity of young minds and the need to create awareness among youth about plastic pollution and sustainable solutions.

To further promote eco-friendly alternatives, Prasanna has initiated cloth bag painting and paper bag-making workshops, encouraging his friends and family to replace plastic bags with reusable, handmade alternatives.

The Power of Collective Action

While these efforts may seem small, Prasanna strongly believes that micro-level changes at the individual and community level can create a cultural shift toward plastic-free living. He emphasizes that collective action will ultimately lead to systemic changes and the implementation of plastic-free solutions that safeguard both human health and the environment.

Prasanna’s Mantra for a Plastic-Free Universe:

REFUSE – Say NO to plastic products and always opt for biodegradable alternatives such as paper, cloth, and dry leaves.

REDUCE – Minimize plastic usage and explore sustainable options like cloth bags instead of plastic, and glass or metal containers instead of plastic ones.

REUSE – Avoid single-use plastics. For unavoidable plastic items, reuse them instead of allowing them to accumulate as waste.

RECYCLE – Segregate plastic waste at home and hand it over to recycling agencies, helping to reduce plastic-related pollution and its harmful health effects.

Through these steps, Prasanna envisions a clean and green future where individuals take responsibility for their environmental impact. His journey serves as an inspiration, proving that one dedicated young mind can ignite a movement for global change.

Focusing on the 4A’s of Awareness, Accessibility, Availability, & Action, enabling the right treatment at the right time

MUMBAI: With the onset of monsoon in different parts of the country, snakebites, particularly in rural areas, are on the rise. Ahead of this, Bharat Serums and Vaccines Limited (BSV), a Mankind Group Company and a leader in high-quality snake antivenom for over two decades, has lined up focused initiatives that will ensure access and availability of the appropriate treatment, while driving awareness on snakebite management and dispelling the myths around it.

Sivani Sarma Deka, COO-India Business, said, “As a market leader in anti-snake venom, BSV has been at the forefront of developing and bringing quality and effective treatments for snakebites. We believe it is our responsibility to ensure that we address the 4A’s-Awareness, Access, Availability, and Action- such that the right treatment is administered at the right time and at the right place to the right patient. For this, we continue to forge multi-sectoral collaboration and targeted interventions through awareness and community education on prevention, first aid, early access of snakebite patients to the nearest health facility, and managing snakebite, in the appropriate manner, to dispel the age-old myths of snake bite and its treatment. In addition, we are also actively focused on continuous medical education with scientific programs curated for healthcare providers that comprise continuous updating of knowledge and practices during management of Snakebite Envenomation (SBE), through the implementation of the prescribed Standard Treatment Guidelines (STG) of the Government.”

Speaking on awareness, Dr. Sadanand Raut, Shivneri Bhushan, Arogya Ratna Govt. of Maharashtra 2023 MD (Gen. Med.) Consultant Physician, Cardiologist, Diabetologist, and Toxicologist added, “The Central Government’s move on making snakebites a ‘notifiable disease’ will help in improving data collection, resource allocation, prevention, and access to early treatment,t leading to track incidence, early identification, and interventions to prevent further mortality/morbidity. In addition, it will play a significant role in creating a registry of suspected or probable cases and deaths due to snakebite, thereby ensuring improved surveillance, data collection, and ultimately reducing snakebite deaths and disabilities. This will bring the much-needed focus on addressing gaps in the availability of snake antivenom and medical care, and most importantly, fostering community engagement by encouraging local participation in prevention efforts.”

Dr. Sadanand Raut, Shivneri Bhushan, Arogya Ratna Govt. of Maharashtra 2023 MD(Gen. Med.) Consultant Physician, Cardiologist, Diabetologist, and Toxicologist highlighted, “Annually, over 58,000 reported deaths occur in India due to snakebites. The incidence of high mortality and morbidity prevails. Improving snakebite outcomes involves a multi-pronged approach from identification to early access to treatment, as it is crucial for managing the complications of envenoming and improving patient outcomes. We can save the lives of snakebite victims by enhancing understanding, building awareness, and educating communities on snakebites as well as ensuring wider access and availability of treatments across the country.”

Snakebite remains a serious public health challenge. There is a need to create a holistic strategy to address the socioeconomic challenges of snakebites, the availability of snake antivenom and medical care, and most importantly, increase awareness and levels of community engagement by encouraging local participation in prevention efforts.

Drive for the cause of Road Safety

NEW DELHI: The 9th edition of the prestigious JK Tyre-Constitution Club of India Car Rally for Parliamentarians was flagged off today from the Constitution Club of India (CCI) premises in New Delhi. The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Shri Kiren Rijiju, Hon’ble Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of Minority Affairs, along with the Guest of Honour, Anshuman Singhania, Managing Director of JK Tyre & Industries, and other distinguished dignitaries.

Since its inception in 2010, the CCI Rally has established itself as a significant platform promoting road safety. This unique initiative brings together policymakers in a collective effort to raise awareness about responsible driving. This year, over 50 parliamentarians, including Mr. Anurag Thakur, Mr. Nishikant Dubey Mr. Rajiv Pratap Rudy, and other Members of Parliament along with invited bureaucrats, senior journalists, and teams of armed forces participated in the rally in their cars, reaffirming their dedication to safer roads while paying homage parliamentarians who tragically lost their lives in road accidents.

To further support this endeavor, the rally route included a stop at the Traffic Park, where participants revisited the fundamental driving rules and tested their knowledge of road safety signs. This interactive activity enhanced the overall experience and reinforced the importance of safe driving. The grandeur of the event was further elevated by the stunning display of classic and vintage cars, captivating attendees with their timeless charm.

The motto of the Car rally is “Road Safety”. On this occasion, we remember our distinguished Members of Parliament whom we lost in road accidents. Some of the prominent names include Former President of India Shri Giani Zail Singh, Union Minister Shri Rajesh Pilot, Union Minister & CM Shri Sahib Singh Verma, Union Minister Shri Yerrannaidu, MP Shri S.P. Muthukumaran, MP Shri Shrikant Jichkar, MP Shri Mahendra Singh Bhati and MP Shri Dayanand Sahay, Union Minister Shri Gopinath Munde, MP Shri Nandamuri Harikrishna, MP S Rajendran and many others.

India has the second largest road network in the world ranging from most modern highways stretching down to narrow, unpaved roads. Roads are the easiest way to access any part of the country. Significantly, our politicians spend a major part of their lives traveling for election campaigns, meeting people in their respective constituencies, or accessing their workplaces. However, the pressure of time, exhaustive working hours, and early morning to late night traveling make them more vulnerable to fatalities on the road. We have lost several Parliamentarians and Ministers in the course of road accidents.

Shri Kiren Rijiju, Hon’ble Minister expressed his concern about road accidents and shared his views that these types of rallies are essential to create awareness & promote road safety not only for members in particular but the people of the Country in general.

Anshuman Singhania, Managing Director, JK Tyre, said, “The JK Tyre-CCI Rally exemplifies our shared commitment to promoting safe and responsible driving. Road safety is not just about following rules — it is about saving lives. With the expanding network of Indian roads and national highways, the need to reinforce the message of road safety has become even more critical and we at JK Tyre have been dedicated to this cause for over three decades. Through awareness campaigns and product innovations, we remain dedicated to making our roads safer and advocating for road discipline as both responsible citizens and industry leaders.”

Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Secretary, CCI also expressed his concern about the road accidents. Ministry has taken multi-pronged efforts for strengthening automobile safety standards, improving the road infrastructure, and other major initiatives under the vision of our Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, and Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport & Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari.

Some of the most common reasons are found to be speeding, use of mobile phones, riding without helmets and driving without seat belts and accessing highways at unauthorized points, roads & pedestrian crossings, etc.

Shri Rudy also recalled the message of the Hon. Prime Minister on Road Accidents in “Mann Ki Baat” where the Hon’ble Prime Minister has very deeply raised the tragedy caused by road accidents.

This alarming trend of road accidents and casualties has increased the severity and the spiraling road accident numbers bring to the fore the urgency and the need to enhance awareness among the masses of this country.

It is for this very same reason that Constitution Club of India in partnership with JK Tyre has taken this initiative to ensure a campaign to save lives so that the country can reap its economic dividends also.

The JK Tyre-CCI Rally followed a carefully planned route through the capital’s iconic landmarks, amplifying the crucial message of road safety. Participants competed in the TSD (Time, Speed, Distance) format, which focuses on precision rather than speed to encourage disciplined driving. Each team comprised a driver and a navigator, with the navigator responsible for following route instructions, calculating average speeds, and ensuring the team remained on schedule, as any deviation resulted in penalty points. With specified times and speeds set within legal limits, the FMSCI-compliant rally tested participants’ navigational skills while ensuring adherence to traffic norms.

The noble cause of road safety was supported by J K Tyre, IOCL, GAIL, Union Bank of India, Patanjali Ayurved Limited, Petronet LNG Limited, Numaligarh Refinery Ltd, NBCC, BPCL and Airports Authority of India.

The event will conclude with a grand prize distribution ceremony later in the evening at the Constitution Club of India, where the winners will be felicitated by Shri Om Birla, Hon’ble Speaker of Lok Sabha, and Anshuman Singhania.

Over 2200 school students and staff members empowered with road safety education

PUNE: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) reinforced its focus on road safety by conducting an awareness campaign in Pune, Maharashtra. The initiative engaged over 2200 students and staff members from Radiant International School, Shri J.R. Gunjal English Medium School and Junior College, Government College of Engineering and Research, and Gramonnati Mandal’s Arts, Commerce, and Science College equipping them with essential knowledge on responsible road behavior.

With a focus on early road safety education, HMSI designed this initiative to go beyond awareness and encourage a lasting behavioural change. Educating the students at an early stage helps shape responsible road users who can influence their surroundings. By engaging with schools, colleges and institutions —both government and non-government—HMSI continues to make road safety an integral part of everyday life.

The awareness campaign in Pune included safety riding lessons, danger prediction training, games, quizzes, helmet awareness and riding trainer modules. These interactive activities ensured that road safety education was both engaging and practical, helping the participants not only learn the road safety guidelines but also develop a sense of responsibility while on the road.

HMSI expressed gratitude to Radiant International School, Shri J.R. Gunjal English Medium School and Junior College, Government College of Engineering and Research and Gramonnati Mandal’s Arts, Commerce and Science College for its support in making this initiative a success. The enthusiastic participation of students and staff played a key role in spreading awareness about responsible road behavior and working towards safer roads.

Through its ongoing road safety initiatives, HMSI has reached nearly 3 lakh adults and children across Maharashtra, equipping them with practical knowledge to make informed choices on the road. With initiatives like these, HMSI continues to create awareness in promoting road safety and encourage responsible driving and riding habits for all.

In 2021, Honda announced its global vision statement for the year 2050 where it will strive for zero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles. In India HMSI is working in line with this vision and the Government of India direction of reducing fatalities to half by 2030.

One critical aspect of achieving this goal is developing a positive mindset toward road safety in our children by the year 2030 and continuing to educate them thereafter. Road safety education at schools and colleges is not only to create awareness but to introduce a safety culture in young minds and transform them to be the road safety ambassadors. It empowers future generations to become responsible and significantly contribute to a safer society.

HMSI wants to be a company that Society wants to exist and is strongly focusing on spreading Road safety awareness to all sections of society with unique ideas catering to each segment from school kids to corporates and society at large.

HMSI’s set of skilled safety instructors conducts daily programs at our 10 adopted traffic training parks (TTP) across India and 6 Safety Driving Education Centers (SDEC) to make road safety education accessible to every part of society, and the initiative has already reached over 92 lakh Indians. H MSI’s National Road Safety Awareness program made learning fun yet scientific through:

SCIENTIFICALLY DEVISED LEARNING MODULE: Honda’s skilled instructors set the foundation with theory sessions on road signs & markings, driver’s duties on road, riding gear & posture explanation and safe riding etiquettes.

PRACTICAL LEARNING: A special training activity on Honda’s virtual riding simulator was executed for all to experience over 100 possible dangers on the road before actual riding.

INTERACTIVE SESSION: Participants were given danger prediction training known as Kiken Yosoku Training (KYT) which helps enhance rider/driver’s sensitivity to danger and ensures safe driving behavior on roads.

EXISTING DRIVERS HONING RIDING SKILLS: Students & school staff members who are already existing riders tested & honed their riding skills through slow riding activities and riding on narrow planks.
