MUMBAI: Following the introduction of the new Kushaq, Škoda Auto India continues its strong product momentum with a series of updates to its second-generation Kodiaq. With these enhancements, the brand comprehensively refreshes its luxury 4×4 flagship while reinforcing its philosophy of “Luxury, As It Should Be.”

Launched in India in April 2025 in Sportline and Selection L&K trims, and later complemented by the Lounge variant, the Kodiaq now enters 2026 with sharper differentiation across three distinct offerings. Each caters to a specific customer aspiration—greater accessibility, heightened sportiness and uncompromised premium luxury—while preserving the Kodiaq’s signature strengths of refinement, versatility, off‑road capability and engaging on-road dynamics.

Speaking on the introduction, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, said, “After our biggest year in 2025 and a record-breaking first quarter in 2026, we are updating our flagship Kodiaq to further elevate its appeal. With the 2026 enhancements, our aim is simple – there is now a Kodiaq for every luxury 4×4 aspiration, whether it is accessibility, sportiness, or premium sophistication. These additions strengthen an already compelling nameplate and reflect our focus on meaningful, timely product actions. The Kodiaq has emerged as a key pillar for Škoda in India and globally, and today it truly stands for ‘Luxury, As It Should Be.”

Kodiaq Lounge

The Lounge variant enhances accessibility to the Kodiaq range with an exceptional blend of value, space, and versatility, offering a generous 786-litre boot as standard. Configured as a five-seater, the Kodiaq Lounge is tailored for customers seeking outstanding value while retaining all the core strengths of the Kodiaq, including the 2.0 TSI engine, seven-speed DSG transmission, and 4×4 capability.

The cabin features Grey Suedia fabric upholstery and is equipped with signature Kodiaq comforts, including a sliding panoramic sunroof, two‑spoke leather multifunction steering wheel with shift paddles, additional acoustic insulation, three‑zone Climatronic climate control, and an ergonomically positioned gear selector on the steering column, among others.

Kodiaq Sportline

Delivering a distinctly dynamic character, the Kodiaq Sportline draws inspiration from Škoda Auto’s motorsport heritage. For 2026, the Sportline is enhanced with a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These include LED Matrix Headlights with Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS), Adaptive Cruise Control, Front Assist with warning and braking reaction, Lane Assist, Side Assist (blind spot detection and lane change assist), Rear Traffic Alert, and Exit Warning System.

Further strengthening its positioning, features previously exclusive to the Selection L&K, such as the 360-degree Area View Camera, Intelligent Park Assist, and the front grille with a horizontal light strip, are now available on the Sportline trim as well.

True to its sporty ethos, the Kodiaq Sportline is distinguished by Glossy Black exterior styling elements, Black Suedia interiors, a sport three‑spoke leather multifunction steering wheel with shift paddles, aluminium pedals, and other performance‑inspired details.

Kodiaq Selection L&K

The Selection L&K continues to represent the pinnacle of luxury within the Kodiaq range and across Škoda Auto India’s portfolio. For 2026, it too is enhanced with the ADAS suite, further elevating its safety and technology offering.

The cabin is adorned with Cognac leather upholstery, complemented by front Ergo seats featuring pneumatic massage, ventilation, heating, and power adjustment. The steering wheel proudly carries the signature Laurin & Klement insignia, while the cabin seamlessly blends indulgent craftsmanship with the Kodiaq’s formidable 4×4 capability, delivering refined luxury in any terrain.

Proven and unique

The 2026 Kodiaq continues with the proven 2.0 TSI engine, delivering 150kW of power and 320Nm of torque, with power channelled to all four wheels through a seven‑speed DSG automatic transmission. Based on the MQB37 platform, the Kodiaq is assembled at Škoda Auto India’s facility in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.

The update retains the innovative multi‑function Smart Dials, featuring tactile rotary controllers and integrated displays that allow intuitive control of HVAC, seat ventilation, audio settings, and drive modes.

The Kodiaq legacy

First introduced in India in 2017 as a luxury seven‑seat 4×4, the Kodiaq established a benchmark that continues today. It also marked the beginning of Škoda Auto’s SUV naming convention – starting with ‘K’ and ending with ‘Q’ – a philosophy that has since extended to India‑specific models such as the Kushaq and Kylaq.

The Kodiaq derives its name from the Kodiak archipelago in Alaska, USA, and the Kodiak bear that inhabits the region, symbolising ruggedness, strength, and the raw beauty of its natural environment.

Škoda’s racing DNA

Motorsport has been integral to Škoda Auto’s DNA for over a century. This heritage is reflected across its Indian portfolio, where turbo‑charged engines, true automatic transmissions, sharp handling, and engaging dynamics define the driving experience.

From the Kylaq sub‑4m SUV to the Slavia sedan, the Kushaq mid‑size SUV, the Kodiaq luxury 4×4, and the limited‑volume Octavia RS, Škoda Auto India delivers performance‑driven engineering across segments. With trims such as Sportline and Monte Carlo, the brand continues to showcase its motorsport legacy, engineering prowess, and unmistakable sporty character, embodied vividly in the Kodiaq Sportline.

Mercedes-Benz launches the GLS AMG Line luxury SUV, offering a sporty dynamic character to one of its best-selling luxury SUVs. The GLS AMG Line is priced at Rs. 1.4 cr (GLS 450 AMG Line) and Rs. 1.43 cr (GLS 450d AMG Line)

PUNE: India’s most desirable luxury car maker, Mercedes-Benz, kick-started the Fiscal 25-26 with a best-ever sales performance, retailing 4238 new Mercedes-Benz cars in the April-June 2025 period, growing by 10%. The best-ever sales performance in Q1 FY 25-26 was achieved with robust demand for Core and Top-End Luxury vehicles. This sales momentum was also driven by a strong acceleration in the top-end luxury BEV portfolio, which has increased its penetration in the overall sales volume of Mercedes-Benz India.

The record sales performance was achieved despite microeconomic challenges, including forex fluctuations, price hikes, and market dynamics, including pricing challenges at the luxury entry segment. Mercedes-Benz’s success in the top-end luxury class indicates luxury customers’ growing preference for top-end, exclusive vehicles, underlining the growing penchant for hyper-personalization and premiumization, driven by desire and soaring aspirations of luxury customers.

“Mercedes-Benz kick-starts the current fiscal with best-ever sales performance, registering 10% growth. This strong sales performance is buoyed by the robust demand for our portfolio, particularly for the top-end luxury and BEV segments, highlighting a growing customer preference for exclusive luxury vehicles with hyper-personalization and customization. We are equally thrilled with the outstanding momentum of our BEV portfolio, driven by top-end BEVs like the EQS SUV, EQS Maybach, and the G 580 with EQ technology. Our sharp focus on bolstering the Top-End Luxury has been highly successful in influencing customer preferences and differentiating Mercedes-Benz as the most desirable luxury brand in India.”

“Launch of the GLS AMG Line reiterates Mercedes-Benz’s focus on enriching the top-end luxury portfolio with new products. The GLS has been Mercedes-Benz’s top-selling ‘Large Size Luxury SUV’ with more than 16,000+ units on Indian roads. The addition of the New GLS AMG Line will further bolster Mercedes-Benz’s SUV portfolio, accentuating the strong DNA of the GLS, with a road presence and grandeur that is unparalleled. With AMG styling, GLS becomes sporty and expressive in design, completely redefining the segment with space, performance, and ride comfort, in the most commanding way.”, Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India

Overwhelming demand for the Top-End Luxury segment:

The key highlight for Mercedes-Benz India’s Q1 FY 25-26 sales was the overwhelming demand for the Top-End Luxury segment comprising the S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach, EQS product range, and the AMG range of performance vehicles. Top-End Luxury segment sales grew by 20% with strong demand for the S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach Night Series, G 580 with EQ Technology, EQS SUV, and iconic AMG G 63.

While the limited AMG G 63 ‘Collector’s Edition’ has already witnessed an overwhelming response from G-Class aficionados, the recently launched AMG GT 63 PRO is already sold out for the remaining year.

Steady demand driving the ‘Core’ segment:

Mercedes-Benz’s ‘Core’ segment continued to be a significant contributor to the company’s Q1 FY 25-26 sales. The Core segment that comprises C-Class, E-Class LWB sedans, the GLC and GLE SUVs continued its strong performance with 60% contribution to the overall sales volumes of Mercedes-Benz, growing by 10% in Q1 FY 25-26.

The unrivalled success of the E-Class LWB continued with the addition of the potent E450 performance variant, making the Long Wheelbase E-Class the highest-selling luxury car in India.

Similarly, the C-Class sedan, the GLC SUV, and the GLE SUV cemented their customer preferences and strong value proposition, retaining customer loyalty in their respective segments.

Entry Luxury Segment:

Mercedes-Benz ‘Entry Luxury’ portfolio offers products with high substance in respective segments, having a higher value proposition for luxury customers. In Q1 FY 25-26, Mercedes-Benz ‘Entry Luxury Segment’ marginally declined, in a segment thoroughly dominated by products at a lower price point and offers. Mercedes-Benz Entry Luxury products are feature-enriched, highlighting a value-oriented sales approach that successfully caters to the growing customer aspirations.

Top-End BEVs strongly drive Mercedes-Benz’s BEV growth:

Mercedes-Benz BEV portfolio grew by an outstanding 157% in Q1 FY 25-26, with an increased penetration of 8% of total sales. The BEV sales highlight a steady response to Mercedes-Benz’s electric products, with increased customer deliveries for the dynamic EQS 450 SUV. The BEV growth momentum was primarily driven by the ‘Top-End Luxury’ spectrum, with the highest ever demand for the EQS SUV, EQS Maybach Night Series and the stunning G 580 SUV with EQ Technology. The waiting period for the EQS Maybach and G 580 with EQ Technology extends up to 6 months.

(All sales figures of Mercedes-Benz India are that of retail sales)

Mercedes-Benz GLS AMG Line

The new Mercedes-Benz GLS 4MATIC AMG Line is a sporty and expressive iteration of Mercedes-Benz’s most successful ‘Large Size Luxury SUV’, the GLS, with more than 16000 units on Indian roads. The GLS AMG Line has an unparalleled and commanding road presence underlining dominance through design, which is inspired by the G-Class. The GLS AMG Line has Mercedes-AMG-inspired styling with AMG front apron, sporty and distinctive exterior elements, and equally sporty interior appointments, trims, and elements.

Key highlights of the GLS AMG Line 4MATIC:

The independent AMG styling makes the GLS visually closer to the models from Mercedes-AMG.
DEAD SEA (JORDAN): Nineteen-time FIA Middle East Rally Champion Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah and his Spanish co-driver Candido Carrera will be aiming to extend their perfect winning start to the season with victory in this weekend’s Jordan Rally.

The fourth round of the regional rally series gets underway from the Royal Automobile Club of Jordan (RACJ) in Amman on Thursday evening. Spectators are welcome to attend from 18.00hrs with a display of drift and competition cars also on site before the ceremonial start gets underway at 19.15hrs.

Al-Attiyah and Carrera are chasing a fourth successive win this season after victories in Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. While Carrera chases a maiden regional rally title, Al-Attiyah will be hoping that a staggering 90th MERC event win would also net him a record-breaking 17th success in the Hashemite Kingdom and yet another win with an Autotek-run Škoda Fabia RS.

The Qatari arrived in Amman from South Africa, via a brief pit stop in Doha, and has been mentally preparing himself in Amman away from the punishing heat at the Dead Sea. The team carried out a brief shakedown test on Tuesday afternoon, although the Qatari is aware that he has strong competition over a dozen challenging gravel stages in the Jordan Valley and Dead Sea areas this weekend.

Al-Attiyah: “Jordan is like a second home for me. My first race was in Jordan in 1989, and we are still coming to race here. We have seen from the recce that the organisers have done an amazing job. I will try my best to win the race again.

“We started the season well with the new Fabia. We tested on Tuesday, and it was a useful test. We changed a few things on the setup, but we had a good base to build on from last year. This is my favourite rally, but we need to be clever. It’s going to be hot, and maybe some people will struggle.

Candido is a professional co-driver, and I have known him for a long time. He doesn’t just co-drive; he does all the planning for every race. I have been surprised by his performance.”

Fresh from a strong result at the recent WRC Rally of Portugal, Rakan Al-Rashed will be hoping to build upon that experience to continue his push for a first ever MERC event win in a Toyota GR Yaris. The Saudi and his Portuguese co-driver Hugo Magalhāes picked up points for second place in Oman and Saudi Arabia and fourth in Qatar to hold second in the title race, albeit 31 points behind Al-Attiyah and Carrera.

Oman’s Abdullah Al-Rawahi won the event outright on his way to the regional title in 2023 and will also benefit from the experience of local co-driver Ata Al-Hmoud this weekend. Al-Rawahi is third in the Drivers’ Championship, with points for second place in Qatar being his best result of the season so far.

Al-Hmoud said, “We have one target and that is to win the rally. It will not be easy, especially with Nasser in the Škoda RS and Rakan with his Toyota Yaris and Abdulaziz with the Citroën.

We have experience in Jordan. Hopefully, we can be at the top level of the game. The Dead Sea at this time of year is very hot. Weather conditions could be tough. I missed Jeddah (Rally Saudi Arabia) because my wife delivered two babies, two young angels, a baby girl, and a baby boy. Now I have a bigger family. We will do our best to win this event.”

Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari is the defending regional champion and also won last year’s Jordan National Championship. The Qatari has enjoyed more seat time this season in rallies and cross-country events and showed with a pair of third-place finishes in Qatar and Saudi Arabia that his Citroën C3 is more than capable of challenging for the win.

Consistent finishes have lifted Nasser Khalifa Al-Atya into fourth in the points standings in his Ford Fiesta, although the Qatari veteran is also chasing glory in the inaugural FIA Master MERC Championship for Drivers. Three maximum points scores have given Al-Atya a 42-point cushion in that new championship.

Sheikh Bader Al-Fayez, Ihab Al-Shorafa, and Bassel Abu Hamdan complete the line-up of drivers in the Rally2 category in three Škoda Fabias.

The Omani duo of Zakariya Al-Aamri and Abdullah Al-Zubair are separated by 15 points in their current duel for FIA MERC2 honours. Both Subaru drivers are hoping to follow in the footsteps of last year’s champion Shaker Jweihan and lift the region’s secondary championship title, although Jweihan is one of several regional drivers aiming to stop the two Omanis running away with the title.

Jweihan said: “A new stage and it’s the first of the rally. This is a long and important one. I think whoever succeeds there will carry that on throughout the rally. The car feels good, and the preparations have gone well. We will see how this rally goes and how the other guys (Zakariya and Abdullah) fit in. We will look at the results and carry on with the experience.”

Kuwait’s Jassim Al-Muqahwi, Lebanon’s Shadi Al-Fakih, and Palestine’s Hamada Uda are also chasing MERC2 honours.

The QMMF confirmed the late withdrawal of young Qatari Mohammed Al-Marri because of business commitments. But 21 cars are expected to attend pre-event scrutineering at the Dead Sea on Thursday morning, in addition to nine more solely eligible for the opening two rounds of the Jordan National Championship.

Rashid Al-Mohannadi has a commanding 45-point lead in the FIA MERC4 category. With Al-Marri’s absence this weekend, the Peugeot 208 driver faces resistance from Qatari academy rookie Saad Al-Harqan and Indian driver Payyaakkal ‘Saneem’ Panikkaveettil in his two-wheel drive Ford Fiesta.

The Jordanian duo of Shadi Shaban and Mohammed Al-Shorafa, and Lebanese Joanna Hassoun are also eligible to score MERC points in their Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IXs.

This year’s Jordan Rally is supported by Zain Jordan, Guarantee Travel Group, Hala and Bliss FM, Markazia and Toyota Gazoo Racing Jordan.

AMMAN (JORDAN): Jordan Motorsport has announced that this weekend’s fourth round of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship (MERC) will start from the Royal Automobile Club of Jordan (RACJ) for the first time since the early 1990s.

The long-term headquarters for one of the most iconic off-road rallies in Asia will host the pre-event press conference (18.45hrs) and ceremonial start (19.15hrs) on Thursday evening at the club on the Seventh Circle in Amman.

Spectators and motor sport fans will also be treated to a display of drift cars and other machines at a car show organised at the RACJ to continue last Sunday’s Jordan Independence Day celebrations. This will officially get underway for the general public from 18.00hrs on Thursday.

The RACJ was rally headquarters for many years in the days when current FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem competed against the likes of the Victory Team’s Sheikh Suhail Al-Maktoum and Khalifa Al-Mutawei, Qatar’s Abbas Al-Mosawi, and Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Bakhashab.

The decision to return to the event’s former headquarters comes at a time when the popularity of motor sport is on the rise in the Hashemite Kingdom and the region as a whole. Just over a month after a record entry took part in the Aqaba-based Jordan Baja, 22 crews are currently carrying out their recce for this weekend’s FIA event and will be joined by a further nine entered in the weekend’s two national rallies.

They will compete over 197.60 competitive kilometres in a route of 546.06km, which includes a new 32km opening stage at Tal Hilali on Friday morning (09.44hrs).

That features a small section of the former Bahath special in the Jordan Valley and precedes morning runs through a high-speed 11.08km stage at Karameh and a special at the Baptism Site (11.34km) close to the Dead Sea – the lowest place on earth.

The three stages will then be repeated in the afternoon after a return to the Dead Sea for a midday regroup and service.

Saturday’s remaining three stages are repeated twice with action getting underway with a run though the Panorama stage (17.12km) from 09.09hrs. The first passes through the Suwayma (11.19km) and Wadi Nar (16.07km) complete the morning’s loop and the three timed tests are repeated in the afternoon before the post-event press conference and traditional ceremonial finish at the Dead Sea.

This year’s Jordan Rally is supported by Zain Jordan, Guarantee Travel Group, Hala and Bliss FM, Markazia and Toyota Gazoo Racing Jordan.

This minimal price correction follows the company’s ongoing efforts to absorb a significant portion of the steep rise in foreign exchange rates through increased localization initiatives

However, lower interest rates would ensure that customers face only a marginal increase in their Equated Monthly Instalments (EMIs)

The first price correction comes into effect from 1st June 2025, followed by a nominal 1.5% increase from 1st September 2025

Mercedes-Benz adopts a two-stage deferred price correction for its customers w.e.f. from June and September 2025

Forex rates increased steeply by 10% over the last four months, hiking the price of components and CBU products

Mercedes-Benz India is passing only a marginal portion of the steep price increase to customers, as it continues to deepen localization initiatives

Mercedes-Benz Financial Services (MBFS) has planned innovative financing solutions that will minimize any cost impact on customers

Price corrections will range from Rs. 90,000 for a C-Class to Rs. 12.2 lakhs for the Mercedes-Maybach S 680

The second phase of the price correction to the tune of 1.5% will be effective from 1st September 2025

Mercedes-Benz Financial Services’ innovative schemes will ensure the monthly EMI outflow for customers remains largely unchanged, despite the price revision

PUNE: India’s most desirable luxury carmaker, Mercedes-Benz India, today announced an innovative two-stage price revision of the ex-showroom prices of its model range, effective from 1st June and 1st September 2025. This staggered price revision offers customers the flexibility to plan their purchases that match their financial outlay. The price revision is triggered by a steep increase in forex rates since January 2025, severely impacting the cost structure of components and products, specifically the CBUs. Mercedes-Benz India is passing on only a marginal portion of the cost increase to the customers, as it continues to increase localization efforts. Although Mercedes-Benz has continued to absorb this steep cost increase so far, it is now compelled to pass on minimal costs to the market to offset the impact on operational expenses and maintain business sustainability.

Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, shared:

“Over the last four months, the rupee has depreciated in the market, with an approximate 10% drop in the Euro to INR exchange rate, causing significant cost pressures on our business operations. This steep swing in the Euro-INR rate has been severely impacting the cost of imports, for both components and CBU cars. Though we have been absorbing most of the exchange rate difference to date and increasing our localization initiatives, we are now compelled to pass on a small portion of it to customers. The continuous rise in operational costs, influenced by forex movement, necessitates this slight price correction, which we will pass on to the market, for sustained business of the company and our Franchise Partners.”

“This staggered approach for price revision, along with the value-added flexible financing programmes from MBFS, will not only minimise any financial burden, but will also offer customers a robust leeway to plan their purchases, best suited to their requirements.”

Ex-showroom prices effective 1 September 2025:

There will be an “On top” Price increase up to 1.5% w.e.f. 1st September 2025.

Minimizing customer impact:

This two-stage price revision announcement allows customers to plan their purchases and finance schemes that best suit their requirements, instead of facing a steep upward price revision owing to the current pricing challenges in the market. In addition, the innovative and value-added services from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, like reduced EMI, partial ownership via STAR AGILITY, will significantly reduce any impact on customers’ cash flow, elevating their ownership experience. These schemes will ensure that the monthly EMI outflow for Mercedes-Benz customers will remain largely unchanged despite the minimal price revision, thereby minimizing the impact on their expenses. For models like the GLA and GLC, the EMI difference will be less than Rs. 2,000.

PUNE: India’s largest luxury carmaker, Mercedes-Benz, achieved a historic milestone with the roll-out of its 200,000th locally produced car, from its manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune, on April 15, 2025. Dr. Jörg Burzer, Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG responsible for Production, Quality & Supply Chain Management, rolled out the 200,000th Mercedes-Benz in India, an EQS SUV, in the presence of Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India and Vyankatesh Kulkarni, Executive Director & Head of Operations, Mercedes-Benz India.

“Mercedes-Benz’s remarkable milestone of 200,000 ‘Made in India’ Mercedes-Benz cars underlines India’s potential as a key manufacturing hub in the long run. The Indian plant has achieved a high level of production agility, manufacturing world-class ICE and EVs under one roof, underscoring the technical prowess of the team and a high level of flexible manufacturing, capable of responding fast to market and customer requirements. The Indian production hub’s contribution to our global sustainable manufacturing strategy, through 100% renewable energy use, exemplifies our commitment to sustainable manufacturing,” said Dr. Jörg Burzer, Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG Production, Quality & Supply Chain Management.

“Mercedes-Benz’s production facility is the backbone of our Indian operations and has played a critical role in our market success, manufacturing world-class ICE and BEV products for the discerning Indian customers. Mercedes-Benz continues to set new standards in production quality, remaining invested in the market with the highest investment by any luxury OEM in India. We will stay invested in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, catering to growing market demand for Mercedes-Benz products in the Indian market,” said Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India

Growing momentum of Local Production:

Mercedes-Benz India’ accelerated production figures underline a compelling growth story: from 50,000 cars in the first 19 years (1995-2014) to 150,000 units in just a decade (2015-2025). Most remarkably, the company produced a record 50,000 cars in just over the last two years. These milestones demonstrate the rapid evolution of India’s luxury car market and the increasing aspiration for a Mercedes-Benz among Indian customers.

Mercedes-Benz India’s manufacturing facility has achieved several notable distinctions, including being the first market to produce a Mercedes-Maybach (S500) outside Germany in 2015. The plant has also been at the forefront of the luxury electric mobility transition, commencing local production of the EQS 580 Sedan in 2022. Mercedes-Benz also became the first manufacturer to start the localization of a second BEV in India, with the local production of the EQS 580 SUV. Reinforcing its commitment to sustainable manufacturing, Mercedes-Benz India’s production facility has been 100% powered by green energy since 2022.

With a comprehensive portfolio of 11 locally produced luxury models, Mercedes-Benz offers Indian customers the widest range of ‘Made in India’ luxury vehicles. The company has demonstrated its long-term commitment to the market with the highest investment by any luxury automotive manufacturer in India, totalling INR 3,000 crores, including a fresh investment of INR 200 crores in 2024.

The manufacturing milestone is complemented by Mercedes-Benz’s extensive retail presence—the largest amongst luxury carmakers in India, with over 100 luxury touchpoints spanning more than 50 cities. This unparalleled network ensures that the craftsmanship and technology of these locally produced vehicles are accessible to customers across the country, with standardized luxury experiences and service excellence regardless of location. The combination of local production capabilities and an extensive retail network allows Mercedes-Benz to deliver personalized luxury experiences while addressing unique market requirements with greater agility.

The production milestone reinforces Mercedes-Benz’s ‘Made in India, for India’ strategy, combining global quality standards with products tailored to the preferences of Indian luxury customers. As Mercedes-Benz continues to strengthen its manufacturing footprint in India, this achievement marks a significant chapter in the company’s journey of shaping luxury mobility in the country.

Robust demand for the Top-End Luxury segment:

The key highlight for Mercedes-Benz India’s fiscal 24-25 and Q1 25 sales had been the strong and consistent demand for its Top-End Luxury segment comprising the likes of S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach, EQS SUV, and the AMG range. Top-end luxury segment sales grew by 34% in FY 24-25 with robust demand for S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach Night Series, G 580 with EQ Technology, EQS SUV, and the iconic AMG G 63.

In Q1 2025 more than 1 out of 4 cars sold in India by Mercedes-Benz remained a ‘Top-End Luxury’ vehicle. The waiting period for the Top-End Luxury segment ranges from 4 months, and up to a year for the iconic AMG G 63.

Consistent traction driving the ‘Core’ segment:

Mercedes-Benz’s ‘Core’ segment remained the highest contributor to its sales in FY 24-25 and in Q1 2025. The Core segment comprising C-Class, E-Class LWB sedans, the GLC, and GLE SUVs continued to drive customer desire and loyalty, contributing a significant share in the overall sales volumes of Mercedes-Benz.

In Q1 2025, the success of the E-Class LWB (now available with a dynamic E 450 variant) continued, with very high customer traction across all markets. The Long Wheelbase E-Class remains the highest-selling luxury car in India.

Entry Luxury Segment:

Mercedes-Benz ‘Entry Luxury’ offers product substance, having a higher value for luxury customers. In Q1 2025, Mercedes-Benz’s ‘Entry Luxury Segment’ declined by 28%, in a segment primarily dominated by-products at a lower price point with the high market offering. Mercedes-Benz products are feature-rich and fully loaded, underlining a value-oriented sales approach, that caters to growing customer aspirations.

Strong demand for BEV:

Mercedes-Benz BEV portfolio grew by a robust 51% in FY 24-25 fiscal, with a penetration of 7% of total sales. BEV sales growth underlined the continued strong response to the entire portfolio, highlighted with the highest-ever customer deliveries for the EQS SUV.

Q1 25 sales also witnessed a similar strong demand for the BEV portfolio with a very positive response to the ‘Made in India’ EQS SUV 580 and EQS SUV 450, pushing the BEV penetration to 8% in Q1 25.

The BEVs particularly witnessed significant growth in the ‘Top-End Luxury’ spectrum, with high demand for the EQS Maybach Night Series and the stunning G 580 SUV with EQ Technology. The waiting period for both these vehicles extends up to 12 months.

Major Retail Network expansion planned in Q2 2025:

Mercedes-Benz India, as part of its ‘Go to Customer’ strategy, has a major Retail Network expansion planned in Q2 2025. As part of market expansion, Mercedes-Benz will expand its retail network to 21 world-class MAR20X outlets in new emerging markets, as well in the existing metropolis of New Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai, with an investment of Rs. 450 crores from Franchise Partners in next three years. Mercedes-Benz will also debut in key emerging markets of Kanpur, Jammu, Varanasi, Udaipur, and Patna among other markets. A state-of-the-art modern luxury facility was inaugurated in Agra last week.

GURUGRAM: Everyone deserves to get back home safely. Yet, India’s roads witness over 1,50,000 fatalities annually, making road safety an urgent national priority. CARS24, India’s leading auto tech company, has partnered with the Indian Road Safety Campaign (IRSC) to take meaningful action—improving infrastructure, integrating technology, and driving policy-level change to reduce road accidents and save lives.

This initiative aligns with CARS24’s vision of ‘Better Drives, Better Lives’, reinforcing that safety isn’t just a responsibility, it’s a movement that requires awareness, action, and collaboration.

Pothole Reporting & Resolution

One of the latest initiatives under this collaboration is pothole reporting through the CARS24 app. Users can now report potholes in real-time, helping create a centralized database of road hazards. Upon verification, IRSC will take action to fix selected potholes, while the remaining data will be shared with local authorities to push for broader road repairs. Additionally, all reported potholes will be geotagged, allowing other motorists to navigate safely and avoid high-risk areas. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between citizen reporting and government action, ensuring quicker resolution of hazardous road conditions.

Beyond Potholes: A Comprehensive Road Safety Approach

CARS24 is expanding its road safety efforts with new features in its app, making crucial information more accessible to drivers:

Location-based helpline numbers for quick access to emergency assistance.

Simple road safety guidelines to promote responsible driving behavior.

A user-friendly guide to traffic laws to keep motorists informed.

A daily road safety quiz to reinforce awareness and encourage engagement.

The feature is currently live on IOS and will be coming soon on Android.

Empowering People: First Responder Training

CARS24 is also preparing to train all Autonauts (its employees) as first responders. The initiative has already begun, with 150 employees—including all co-founders—trained in CPR, first aid, and emergency response techniques. This program will be expanded to equip more people with life-saving skills, ensuring they are prepared to step in when it matters most.

Advocating for a Safer Tomorrow

CARS24 and IRSC are working to address road safety challenges at a broader level by:

Identifying and addressing accident-prone zones using data-driven insights.

Advocating for stricter road safety enforcement to reduce fatalities.

Engaging with policymakers and urban planners to improve road infrastructure for long-term impact.

“We’ve all seen it, a crash that changed a life forever. India has just 1% of the world’s vehicles but 11% of global road deaths. That’s not bad luck—it’s a failure of infrastructure, enforcement, and awareness. Over 60% of these deaths are preventable, yet road accidents remain an everyday tragedy. It’s time to change that. CARS24 is stepping up, not just to talk about road safety, but to take action.

Because no mother should have to fear every time her child steps out. No father should have to worry if their child will make it home. No family should receive a call that changes everything. Fixing potholes, improving accessibility, and empowering people with knowledge and tools, is our first step towards this mission. Having said that, road safety isn’t just one company’s effort; it’s something we all need to take responsibility for. Because a safe journey home shouldn’t be a privilege—it should be something we build together.” said Gajendra Jangid, Co-Founder, of CARS24

Adding to it, Vikram Chopra, CEO and Co-Founder, of CARS24 said“India loses 3% of its GDP annually due to road crashes. That’s more than what we spend on healthcare and education combined. Beyond the personal tragedy, road accidents impact the entire economy. If fixing roads, enforcing laws, and driving responsibly can save lives and boost our nation’s progress, then we have no excuse not to act.”

As per Amar Srivastava, Founder and President of, the Indian Road Safety Campaign, “We started IRSC more than a decade back due to the loss of close seniors to a road-crash at IIT Delhi. However, India still loses more than 1 lakh youth to road crashes, and solving such a multi-sectoral problem would need the private, government,t and citizens to come together to solve this while using technology as the backbone for sustainable impact. With our collaboration with CARS24, we aim to save a million lives across the next decade by leveraging technological innovations to change behavior and nudging citizens at scale to drive responsibly and help reduce crashes by active participation”

As per Deepanshu Gupta, Co-Founder and Vice President of the Indian Road Safety Campaign, “While a lot of people believe road crashes are accidents, they are not. Every accident is preventable by systemic interventions, and with our collaboration with CARS24, We would work across the 4Es of road safety [engineering, education, emergency care, enforcement] at 10x scale and speed. Road crashes are today the leading cause of youth deaths. While this is a global menace, India leads the pack, and I am hopeful that if we all collaborate to act, we will also be the leaders in showing how to solve this sustainably. The time to act is now Better Drives, Better Lives“

CARS24 and IRSC are committed to making road safety a fundamental part of mobility. Every initiative, partnership, and innovation is aimed at reducing accidents, enhancing road conditions, and ensuring safer journeys for all.

Choosing the right car accident lawyer in Forest Hills can significantly impact the outcome of your case. With so many options available, it’s critical to ensure that the attorney you select is well-suited for your needs.

So, here are the top five questions you should ask a car accident lawyer before hiring them to ensure you’re making an informed decision.

1. How Much Experience Do You Have with Car Accident Cases?

Experience is a key factor when selecting a lawyer to handle your car accident case. So, it’s essential to ask about their specific experience with cases like yours. Remember, car accident cases can be complex, involving intricate details about liability, insurance claims, and personal injury law. A lawyer with substantial experience will be familiar with these nuances and able to navigate the legal system effectively. Their past experiences will also provide insights into how they’ve handled similar cases and the strategies they’ve used to achieve favorable outcomes for their clients.

2. What Is Your Success Rate?

Understanding a lawyer’s track record is crucial in assessing their capability. Ask the lawyer about their success rate in settling or winning car accident cases. A high success rate not only demonstrates expertise but also suggests that the lawyer knows how to approach the insurance companies and other parties involved to secure favorable results. While past performance doesn’t guarantee future success, it does give you an idea of the lawyer’s ability to handle your case effectively. So, try to inquire about past cases similar to yours and the outcomes achieved to gauge their competence.

3. What Is Your Fee Structure?

Legal representation can be expensive, so it’s important to understand the lawyer’s fee structure before hiring them. Most car accident lawyers operate on a contingency fee basis, meaning they only get paid if you win your case. However, the percentage they take from your settlement can vary, so it’s essential to clarify this upfront. In addition, ask if there are any other potential costs, such as court fees or administrative expenses, and whether they are covered out of your settlement or upfront. Understanding these financial aspects can prevent surprises down the road and help you plan accordingly.

4. How Do You Communicate with Your Clients?

Communication is key in any lawyer-client relationship. You should feel comfortable with how a lawyer communicates and keeps you informed about your case. Always ask about their preferred method of communication—whether it’s phone calls, emails, or in-person meetings—and how often you can expect updates. Remember, a lawyer who is responsive and keeps you in the loop can ease the stress that often accompanies legal proceedings. So, ensure that their communication style aligns with your preferences, so you feel supported and informed throughout the process.

5. Who Will Be Handling My Case?

It’s common for law firms to have a team of attorneys and legal assistants working on cases. So, clarify who will be handling your case on a day-to-day basis. Will it be the lawyer you are speaking to, or will it be passed on to another attorney or team member? Understanding the dynamics of the team and their roles can help set clear expectations. Also, inquire about how the team operates and collaborates, ensuring that the person handling your case has sufficient expertise and resources to manage it effectively.

Conclusion

Hiring the right Forest Hills car accident lawyer can make a significant difference in the outcome of your case. By asking these key questions, you can gain valuable insights into a lawyer’s experience, success rate, fee structure, communication style, and team dynamics. Taking the time to carefully evaluate potential lawyers before making a decision ensures that you are well-represented and that your rights are protected.
