Visionary filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala shares, “I’ve been thinking about the story of Housefull 5 and having two different climaxes for the last 30 years. I’ve always wanted to make a thriller, and the idea finally came to me 3–4 years ago, right after I finished writing Housefull 4. I wrote the story and screenplay myself, and it’s truly a dream come true. This film is unique because different shows will have different killers and climaxes. Imagine a 3 PM show having one ending, and the 6 PM show having another- this is happening across single screens and multiplexes.” He further adds, “Housefull 5 is a true killer comedy. Writing it gave me sleepless nights, but also a lot of joy. Once the script was ready, bringing Akshay and Tarun Mansukhani on board and others made the journey even more fruitful.”

Sajid Nadiadwala has also written the Story and Screenplay for Housefull 5.

An ensemble of 19 stars, Housefull 5 is the most glam-packet killer comedy ever. The groundbreaking movie, set to release in cinemas on 10th May 2024, marks a significant milestone as “Srikanth” becomes the first all-inclusive Hindi film, that not only has more than 70 actors with disabilities in its star cast but is also available in accessible formats for the Visually and Hearing impaired; in compliance with the recent mandate by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.  Having started its journey to make its cinemas accessible for people with disabilities in 2018; PVR INOX is celebrating the advent of accessible movies in the country with this special show at just Rs. 99 per person.

Srikanth is a Hindi-language biographical film on the life of Srikanth Bolla, a visually-impaired Indian industrialist and the founder of Bollant Industries. It is directed by Tushar Hiranandani and stars Rajkummar Rao in the eponymous role with Jyothika, Alaya F, and Sharad Kelkar.  Srikanth is a powerful narrative that beautifully portrays the resilience of people with disabilities. PVR embarked upon its Accessible Cinema program in early 2018. This involved a careful evaluation of various kinds of constraints that differently-abled people faced and finding solutions to enable them to enjoy films. Cinemas, since then have been made accessible for people with locomotor disabilities either by design or with the help of assistive equipment, removable seats have been installed to accommodate persons who are unable to move from their wheelchairs. For the hearing impaired, we have been making sub-titled shows easily discoverable on all booking platforms.

However, the company continued to face challenges for the visually impaired since even though there existed an arrangement with a Technology Company to stream audio descriptions through their app XL Cinema, there were no audio-described films except those done by NGOs, etc. However, with the Government’s latest ruling, doors have opened up for accessible entertainment in the country.

INDIA: PVR INOX, the largest and the most premium cinema exhibitor in India has announced the opening of a new cinema, PVR Cinemagic at Ambience Mall, Gurugram. The 4-screen multiplex introduces two unique theme-based auditoriums, “Space and Forest” along with the multi-sensory 4DX and the Kid’s Auditorium Playhouse each catering to diverse customer preferences.

With the addition of PVR Cinemagic, PVR INOX continues its commitment to providing the most experiential out-of-home entertainment experiences across India. This marks the 14th cinema in Gurugram, bringing the total screen count to 64 in the city. In Haryana, PVR INOX now operates 22 properties with 93 screens, and in North India, it boasts 101 properties and 459 screens.

The distinctive theme-based auditoria – “Forest” transports viewers to a serene environment with its green hues and nature-inspired design, while the “Space” auditorium creates an intergalactic adventure with its blue and black color scheme, including a themed rainforest and out-of-space audio track that immerses the audience and takes their experience to new heights upon settling in their seat, before the on-screen feature begins. With a total seating capacity of 397 guests, the new cinema is equipped with the best-in-class theatrical technology with Dolby 7.1 sound, 2K laser projection, and 3D-enabled screens.

PVR Cinemagic features a 4DX auditorium that incorporates on-screen visuals with synchronized motion seats and environmental effects such as water, wind, fog, scent, snow, and more, to enhance the action on screen for an immersive multi-sensory cinematic experience. Further, the Playhouse Auditorium is a one-of-a-kind movie theater designed to captivate younger audiences with vibrant colors, playful elements, and a specially curated seating arrangement accompanied by slides.
