This collaboration aims to launch two innovative programs: the Entrepreneurial Mindset Development Program and the Strategic Business Leadership Program. These programs integrate Islamic finance values and instruments to foster economic growth in Member Countries. The programs will be hosted by MBSC and delivered jointly by both institutions.

Dr. Sami Al-Suwailem, Acting Director General of IsDBI, and Dr. Zeger Degraeve, Dean of MBS College, signed the agreements during a ceremony at the IsDB Headquarters in Jeddah on 29 January 2025.

The Entrepreneurial Mindset Development Program is designed to equip participants with the essential skills, knowledge, networks, values, and training needed for successful entrepreneurial ventures. The Strategic Business Leadership Program aims to develop the key attributes of entrepreneurial success: personal attributes, including behavior, personality, and capabilities, as well as business attributes such as its structure, goals, and performance management.

Both programs will include a series of interactive workshops, mentorship sessions, and real-world projects. Participants are expected to gain valuable insights into innovative thinking, business planning, and effective problem-solving.

The festival began with a talk by Prof. Khare where he spoke about ‘Bringing words to life’. With a passion for storytelling and an unwavering belief in the power of words, Prof. Khare embarked on a journey to light the imagination of budding writers. The talk was followed by a creative writing workshop where Junior and Senior school students were encouraged to shed their inhibitions to embrace the realm of creativity. Through a series of innovative activities, Prof. Khare guided students to discover more about themselves, encouraging them to find their voices and viewpoints.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Khare said, “The idea of a literary festival at a school like WCIP is wonderful since children here are from different nationalities and it opens up their minds to a world of possibilities beyond nationhood. A festival like this encourages the realm of imagination, thoughts, ideas, and cultures and in doing so, WCIP is providing invaluable service to education because Art changes lives.”

Throughout the week, students will delve into a diverse range of events including spelling bees, extemporaneous speaking, graphic story writing, and a thrilling Wordle Wizard competition. Senior school students will also study the timeless works of William Shakespeare and explore the poetry of Robert Frost. Additionally, the school will host a scholastic book fair, inviting students of all ages to explore a variety of literary treasures and immerse themselves in a world of stories and imagination.

Dattaji Gaikwad built the premises of very high standards, using high-quality materials and furniture. The classroom size allows 80 students to sit comfortably in a classroom. The building has two elevators, ample parking, and an open space in the middle of the building for student events and activities. This building provides students with very high-quality learning facilities.“

Cultural Adjustments

You step outside of your comfort zone whenever you step into a new culture. Indian students in the United States may find themselves adjusting to a completely different culture and may even experience homesickness. 

While parents back home may do their part to send postcards, gifts, and familiar items from home, adapting to the new way of life doesn’t always come easily. Not only are students faced with an entirely different culture, but also a different education system. 

India has a very different teaching style and social expectations within schools. As long as students are ready to face these differences and adjust accordingly, they should find their way.

Academic Pressure

American universities are known for their extreme rigor and highly demanding teaching methods. Luckily for Indian students, a strong work ethic is ingrained in them from a young age. As such, while academic pressure may be a challenge for many, Indian students will likely find themselves thriving in this competitive and fast-paced environment. 

By actively engaging in student participation and leveraging each opportunity as it comes, they should be able to withstand all that is expected of them.

Financial Strain

Although the United States is known for many notable colleges, they come with hefty tuition and fees attached. Not to mention international students like Indians pay higher tuition than domestic students. This can come as quite a financial burden, so it’s important that you carefully plan for how you’ll finance your studies, and take advantage of any available scholarships and grants.

Diversity

It’s safe to say that in India, you’ll find much less diversity than you will somewhere like the United States. The United States is referred to as a melting pot of cultures, and as such, the diversity may initially come as a surprise to those who find diversity new.

However, the cultural enrichment that being exposed to diversity can offer can significantly benefit students in the long run. Indian students should not shy away from their culture but rather find ways to integrate it into their daily lives to educate others as well. By sharing your culture and traditions, you’ll be a strong representation of where you come from, enriching not only other students’ lives but also your own.

Insight’23 was held on the 15th, 16th, and 17th of February 2023 with an enthralling theme, ‘The Millennium Saga’, an endeavor to revisit the past; the evolving ideologies that have paved the way for a dynamic future, marked by intricate developments and decades of techno-innovative revolutions.

The first day of Insight’23 commenced with an auspicious opening ceremony. Planet-B, the Annual Business Plan Competition of Insight, was held on 15^th February 2023 to encourage innovative minds to present their groundbreaking ideas. The day was also greeted with enthralling events like ‘Powerbroker’, ‘Pitchers’, ‘Moneyball’ etc.

The second day of Insight’23 was a substantial accomplishment with well-curated events like  Mismatched, Global Warfare, etc., and “Periculum”. We had the Insight Business Conclave, a platform devised to invite luminaries of the corporate world to speak on manifold subjects. The highlight of the third day of Insight’23 was the Global Youth Economic Summit, a podium created to aid the youth to understand the emerging global sphere.
