A Deep Dive into Global Best Practices and Real Estate’s Impact on India’s $30 Trillion Economy Vision

India’s Premier Real Estate Conclave returns to the ‘Lion City’ as over 1,200 Industry Leaders converge on the grand stage

MUMBAI: The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI), the apex body of private real estate developers, announces the 23rd edition of its flagship event, CREDAI NATCON 2025, to be held in Singapore from September 11-13, 2025. Under the transformative theme “$30 Tn economy by 2047 backed by real estate sector growth”, this premier conclave will unite over 1,200 industry leaders, including developers, investors, policymakers, financial experts, and global innovators to chart the roadmap for India’s ambitious $30 trillion economic vision.

Singapore, renowned for its visionary urban planning, technological integration, and global connectivity, serves as an ideal backdrop for NATCON 2025. Its journey from a resource-scarce island to a thriving global hub exemplifies how strategic policies and innovative design can transform cities. CREDAI NATCON 2025 aims to draw inspiration from Singapore’s success while fostering knowledge exchange to shape a future-ready India.

Following the success of previous summits—each chosen for their unique policies, development challenges, and approaches to urban growth—NATCON 2025 continues this tradition of purposeful learning. Each edition has offered valuable insights into real estate norms, regulatory frameworks, and innovative practices that inform India’s progress. This year, Singapore has been chosen to enable a deeper understanding of its commercial and residential growth models and to explore how collaborative policies, integrated planning, and innovation have shaped its urban landscape. NATCON 2025 will provide Indian developers with the opportunity to learn from Singapore’s holistic approach and adapt these insights to drive sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready development back home.

Shekhar Patel, President, CREDAI, said,

“As India moves towards becoming a $30 trillion real estate economy, CREDAI NATCON 2025 will play an important role in guiding this growth in line with India’s Vision 2047. The focus is not just on expansion, but on building responsibly with technology, sustainability, and inclusiveness at the core. India needs over 25 million new affordable homes by 2030, along with greener buildings and stronger urban infrastructure, and we believe immersive sessions during CREDAI NATCON will help us tackle these priorities. It brings together the best minds in the industry to discuss ideas, explore partnerships, and shape the policies needed for the future. Through this, we aim to make India’s real estate sector more innovative, resilient, and globally competitive.”

CREDAI NATCON 2025 will feature an inspiring lineup of visionary speakers, industry experts, policy influencers, and thought leaders who will share invaluable insights on emerging trends, global best practices, and strategic opportunities. Their diverse perspectives will empower participants to navigate challenges, embrace innovation, and contribute effectively to shaping the future of India’s real estate sector.

Mumbai’s first senior living conclave – ‘Decode the Mystery of Happy Ageing’

Participation of over 600 senior citizens from Mumbai and Navi Mumbai

MUMBAI: The Wadhwa Group, one of India’s leading real estate development companies, and Primus Senior Living, jointly organized Mumbai’s first senior living conclave – ‘Decode the Mystery of Happy Ageing’, held at MCA Bandra Club, Mumbai. The event saw a record of over 600 seniors from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane actively participate in two conveniently timed sessions.

The growing necessity of Senior Living in India

According to a recent study by consumer knowledge firm Ormax Compass, there would be 2.4 million senior citizens who will be living on their own by 2031 in the MMR region. Among the notable findings of the study, senior citizens in MMR are prepared to live alone in a nuclear environment. Maharashtra with an estimated population of 125 million has an elderly population share of 11.7%, which is higher than the national average of 10%. It is projected to increase further, to reach a 15% share by 2031.

In recent years, a growing number of young Indians are migrating abroad for a better future. Most of their elderly parents prefer staying back in India, in the company of their neighbors and friends. Many of the elderly are affluent, have lavish lifestyles, and have worked hard all their lives. They now want to enjoy an independent and carefree life along with their spouse. A senior living home provides all the comforts and conveniences that the elderly of our society desire; that of living life to the fullest without being a burden on their children or family.

Why gain prominence?

Active senior living communities provide a favorable environment for fostering the passions of individuals and fulfilling their dreams. Such communities provide a secure environment for individuals, taking care of all their personal needs. These communities provide access to medical facilities, recreational activities, and other resources that facilitate healthy aging with dignity.

Furthermore, studies have shown that senior living communities help reduce depression and loneliness among the elderly by providing a social network of peers and engaging in activities. Moreover, such communities allow seniors to remain independent, while receiving the necessary support they need in order to age gracefully.

Mr. Vijay Wadhwa, Chairman of Wadhwa Group explains that a projected shift in population by 2050 where nearly 20% of the country’s population will be elders and 60% of families in India living on their own, highlights the need for more than 320000+ senior living facilities in the country.

“With an ever-increasing elderly population, senior living communities have become essential in helping India’s elderly stay healthy, engaged, and happy,” he said.

Increase in Life expectancy

India is experiencing a rapid increase in its elderly population due to an increase in the life expectancy of its people. As per the 2011 census people aged 60 and above numbered 103 million, accounting for 8.6% of the total Indian population. This increased to 139 million in 2021 approximately 10% of the total population. This trend is expected to continue in the coming years, due to improved medical care and increased access to healthcare services. As a result, elderly people in India are now living longer than ever before.

Mr. Adarsh Narahari, Managing Director, Primus Senior Living explains that loneliness is one of the biggest killers in the world and a number of studies have pointed to this fact.

“Active Senior living communities provide a safe and secure environment where elderly individuals can receive personalized care tailored to their specific situation. These communities help seniors remain active, and independent and live with their heads held high, while also promoting healthy aging and increased active life. At these homes, there are teams of experts who work closely with the residents to understand their needs and provide them activities and amenities that will help them follow their passions and interests,” he explained.

Range of facilities

Senior living communities typically offer a wide range of facilities to accommodate the varied needs of their residents. Some of these include medical care, recreational activities, transportation, housekeeping, security, and nutrition services. Residents also have access to concierge desks, nurses, and other onsite professionals providing 24-hour assistance.

No longer a stigma

A key factor driving the increase in demand for senior living homes is the fact that it is no longer considered a stigma to being living in such senior living homes. With an increased focus on providing seniors with comfort and independence, more and more elderly are opting to move to these homes. The combination of a safe and secure environment, dedicated amenities and services, and lush greenery makes it an ideal place for India’s elderly to enjoy their golden years.

Looking at the huge demand and growth potential in this space, The Wadhwa Group and Primus Senior Living have come together to bring Mumbai’s first senior living home – Primus Swarna situated at Wadhwa Wise City, Panvel. This senior living enclave is part of an integrated development that is spread across 200 acres of verdant surroundings; in the lap of nature, yet well connected to Mumbai.

MUMBAI: As a step to realize its vision to make the Indian pulses and grains sector globally competitive and advance India’s food and nutrition security, India Pulses and Grains Association (IPGA) inaugurated its 3-day mega global seminar ‘The Pulses Conclave 2023’ in Mumbai.

Bimal Kothari, Chairman, of India Pulses and Grains Association, said, “We must focus on exploring multiple technologies to focus on a better and sustainable yield. As we can witness a rise in incomes there is a simultaneous rise in demand for commodities as well. For promoting a better trade of staple diet cereals like pulses we need to promote sustainable policies. The pulses industry provides end number of opportunities through boosted demands and consumption. At IPGA we advocate free trade policy for better import and export of pulses. IPGA is committed to working with policymakers to design growth-oriented policies. Participation in the next Zen start-ups and agriprenures are the highlight of this conclave”.

P. K. Singh, Agriculture Commissioner, Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, “Indian agriculture industry is well versed to have a fantastic production in the coming time. Our estimates say we had a production of 26.69 million tons of Pulses in 2021-22. In India almost one-third of the population is vegetarian and they are heavily dependent on pulses for fulfilling their protein requirements. Even for the non-vegetarian population, pulses form a major part of their daily diet. Thus pulses become highly essential in production as good consumption on daily basis”.

Rohit Kumar Singh, IAS, Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, said, “As policymakers, it has been our priority to maintain a balance through better trade policies between the interest of consumers and producers. India’s pulses production has been growing up with time. It is important to have a consistent policy to protect consumer interests and ensure transparency in terms of trade policies”.

Hon’ble David Marit, Minister of Agriculture, Saskatchewan Province, Canada, said, “Sustainability is the largest focus for crop production for our government and industry. Pulses occupy 16 percent of the total production in 2021. Canada’s net carbon production is 50 percent lower than global competitors. We are pleased to see India providing guidance regarding stability in the marketplace that benefits everyone. It is great to see Canada and India officially relaunch negotiations toward comprehensive trade agreements last year. This will lead towards mutually signed agreements towards aiming benefits and sustainability”.

The Pulses Conclave 2023 showcased the latest products, processes, and equipment, bringing together several hundred delegates from over 20 countries to create a grand knowledge-sharing and networking opportunity

Hon’ble Mr. David Marit, Minister of Agriculture in Canada’s Saskatchewan province actively participated in the Conclave along with his delegation. In addition, there was a large number of consular corps from different countries with which India trades.

TPC 2023 attracted stakeholders across the entire value chain including large Processors, branded Players, trading houses, trade Intermediaries Exporters, Importers, and service providers like Indenters, Warehousing Companies, Custom House Agents, Shipping Companies, and so on. We believe, value-added products from Pulses have an exponential growth potential that can be harnessed in India, and it will go a long way to deliver twin benefits of augmenting farmers’ income and advancing nutrition security. Over 600 delegates across countries are participating.

In addition to being the staple food for many, Pulses find application in the food processing industry in making soups, sauces, bakery products, meals, snacks, and confectionery products for health-conscious consumers.
