The audience also shared concerns about maintaining Indian language and culture abroad.

Themed ‘Fostering Trust with Transparency: Pathway 2047’, the convention aims to bring together key stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, and investors, to gain insights into the dynamics of growth and transformation in India’s real estate sector.

The convention will serve as a platform to explore various facets of the sector, focusing on adapting to new-age trends and technologies. It will feature insightful discussions on government support, affordable housing, the impact of RERA, financing options, technology integration, and investment opportunities, along with a dedicated session on India Vision@2047. We look forward to fostering collaboration between the government and private sector stakeholders to ensure sustainability and pave the way for a thriving real estate industry that positively impacts the broader economy. Let us join hands to build a brighter future for India.”

Mr. Sandeep Runwal, President of NAREDCO Maharashtra said, “The real estate sector is crucial for Maharashtra and the country, driving economic growth and creating jobs. This national convention is a platform for discussing how real estate impacts our economy and how we can find new and smart solutions. Together, we aim to come up with ideas that go beyond the usual, making sure our progress is sustainable and benefits everyone.“

Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Chairman of NAREDCO, “highlighted the convention’s role as a catalyst for transforming India’s real estate sector. He mentioned that the event would focus on issues such as liquidity crises, stressed assets, and insolvency while exploring policy reforms like the Rental Housing Policy and a commitment to net-zero goals.
In addition to discussions, NAREDCO will advocate for the government’s proactive role in promoting affordable housing. It will request the introduction of a home loan interest rate subvention scheme and demand concessions in the prices of construction materials, such as cement and steel, for affordable housing projects. These measures aim to incentivize and facilitate the development of the much-needed affordable housing segment.

PUNE: Bruhan Maharashtra Mandal (BMM) of North America, the sole body to preserve Marathi culture and ethics in the USA, is all set to organize BMM 2024 from the 26th to the 29th of June 2024. BMM 2024 will be the largest convention of the Marathi community outside India. It will take place at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, California. Started in the early 80s, this biennial convention will cater to all age groups and will have business conferences, start-up forums, job opportunities, education, matrimony, healthcare, and entertainment.

Speaking at a Press Conference organized in the city, Prakash Bhalerao-Convener BMM 2024 said, “We chose San Jose as the venue for BMM 2024 as the Bay Area in California is the hub for Marathi community with the maximum number of Marathi households from across North America. About 25 years ago, there were one thousand Marathi families, today this number has touched Ten Thousand families who are not just well-established professionals and entrepreneurs but are also the ones who make conscious efforts to preserve our Marathi culture and value system. 80% of these families are from the western Maharashtra belt (Mumbai, Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur and so on)”.

He further said, “BMM 2024 has programs for all age groups, however greater focus has been given to opportunities and issues pertaining to the youth and senior citizens. The benefits one can derive from such a large-scale convention are the exposure and opportunities one can get during networking and from the thought-provoking, inspiring lectures and talks. The youngsters will get to hear and interact with successful personalities from different sectors. BMM 2024 will be a 4-day convention. All days will have parallel sessions or programs and one can choose to attend. Recorded audio/visuals of these programs will be available for those who wish to watch them at a later time.”

BMM representative Dimakh Sahastrabuddhe, President of Pune District Co-operative Housing Societies and Apartments, Suhas Patwardhan, and others were also present on the occasion.

Day 1 will begin with a business conference. Alongside, there will be a day-long program focusing on the varied issues faced by Marathi senior citizens who have either settled or are visiting their children in the USA. The session will cover everything from spirituality to healthcare. The day also has a program on Matchmaking for the young looking at finding a suitable life partner from amongst the Marathi community. The youth of today are also burdened with the issue surrounding the H1B Visas. A special session has been planned to address this wherein legal experts will provide guidance and clear doubts. In the past, Indians would migrate to the USA primarily to pursue further studies in engineering or medicine. That is not the scenario today. Today’s young generation has a plethora of career options to choose from but is not sure who to seek firsthand authentic information and guidance from. To cater to this, there is a session called ‘Beyond Doctors & Engineers’. The first day will conclude with an extravagant musical program featuring celebrity Marathi artists. Along with all this, there will also be a closed-door event for invitees from amongst the patrons, donors, corporate sponsors, and other VIP dignitaries.

Day 2 will witness a formal inauguration of the convention in the presence of all BMM and BMM24 office bearers and dignitaries. The opening will have a grand-scale cultural program open to all. There will be special catering of exquisite Maharashtrian cuisine as lunch for 7000 attendees. The day will have parallel sessions on spirituality, music, youth, lecture series by Marathi stalwarts, and so on. The day will conclude with the convention’s first marquee event.

Day 3 will have a keynote address by the convention’s chief guest. The theme for the rest of day 3 is similar to that of day 2. The 2nd marquee event of the convention will take place on this day.

Day 4 will include the closing ceremony of the convention. The day will also have a BMM award function for various Marathi achievers followed by a ballot for BMM Presidential elections. The voting is open for all members of Maharashtra Mandals across America. The grand finale for the convention will be the film festival which will screen select short films along with one mega premier. This will be the first time that a film festival will be a part of the BMM Convention.

On all days, between sessions, there will be presentations from select NGOs. The thought is to provide a platform for NGOs that work relentlessly towards the upliftment of society. Our convention will help people act on their social responsibility toward the cause that is close to their hearts.

The preparation of the convention has begun in full swing with over 100 local artists, 200 invitee artists from India, corporate dignitaries, etc. being finalized, 2,500 rooms have been reserved in hotels that are in the vicinity of the convention center. Currently, 350 volunteers from 20 different committees from different Maharashtra Mandals are working on various subjects related to the convention and the number is expected to go up to 700 during the actual convention.

There is a huge dearth of facilities for senior citizens in the USA like healthcare guidance, home-cooked food service, help on posthumous religious formalities, and more. Through the funds generated from this convention, there is a plan to come up with these facilities and offer services like medical concierge and other services to improve their quality of life.

A special mobile application has also been developed to reach out to all Marathi people far and beyond to come together on one platform to not just access the details of the convention but get connectivity with Marathi people across geographies and professional domains. The app will remain available to all even after the convention.

For a holy ground that attracts people through faith, it is imperative that it functions smoothly. Benches at every interval for resting in a queue, access to drinking water and an organised flow that takes care of the devotees’ experience from the moment they enter the premise is critical. At the International Temples Convention & Expo, we aim to gather on-ground temple soldiers on one stage to open knowledge portals to get inspired and organically elevate and set the standard operating system in a temple.”

Prasad Lad, Chairman of International Temples Convention & Expo 2023, Member of the Legislative Council, & The Chairman of the Legislative Council Rights Violation Committee, Government of Maharashtra, added, “The ITCX is a profound effort towards strengthening and empowering the temple ecosystem, which is one of the oldest ecosystems. The convention, in its very first edition, is indeed a first-of-its-kind to be held on such a scale and gravity. It will provide a much-needed space for information percolation, where various temple management can come together under one roof, learn from one another, network with experts and create synergies which will positively impact sustainable temple development.”

Meghaa Ghosh, Show Director & Co-Curator, says, “We have found ourselves in a time where taking initiative matters. No one has attempted to create a forum for temple management, but there is always a first. The convention brings to the fore a sense of national pride in our rich Temple heritage. And it is time to safeguard and support it with new-age technology. We are beginning with four faiths with similar roots. We would love to see more faiths join the movement in the coming years.”

The convention will also be streamed online through the Temple Connect website and Facebook Live for registered viewers.

PHILADELPHIA, PA: “The 41st Annual AAPI Convention & Scientific Assembly scheduled to be held from July 6th to 9th, 2023 will feature world-renowned leaders in healthcare and academia, who are well known and are sought after around the world for their expertise and knowledge,” said Dr. Ravi Kolli, President of The American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI). “The multidisciplinary Continuing Medical Education (CME) during the convention allows specialists and primary care physicians to interact in an academic forum. The speakers at the CME will lead discussions on gaps between the current and best practices on wide-ranging topics,” he added.

It’s a well-known fact that physicians of Indian origin excel in their respective areas of work and continue to play key roles in patient care, administration, academics, and medical research. In order to cater to its diversity of medical specialties, AAPI continues to use a multi-disciplinary conference format. “The essence of AAPI is educational,” said Dr. Ravi Kolli, while describing the purpose of CME said.

“The 41st annual AAPI Convention in Philadelphia will provide physicians of Indian origin an opportunity to come together in an atmosphere of collegiality, enabling them to retrace and appreciate their common roots, culture, and bond that unites them as members of this large professional community,” said Dr. V. Ranga, Chair of AAPI BOT.

According to Dr. Anjana Samadder, President-Elect of AAPI, “This mission of AAPI translates into numerous CME and non-CME seminars by experts in their fields. CME will provide comprehensive and current reviews and guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of various disease states to reduce morbidity and mortality and achieve cost-effective quality care outcomes. At the end of the activity, it is expected that attendees will gain an understanding of the causation, diagnosis, and best clinical practices for the management of the diverse group of diseases discussed during this program.”

Led by Dr. Sreeni Gangasani, AAPI CME Chair, and Dr. Brahma Sharma, AAPI Convention CME Chair, the CME Committee has Drs. Gunjan Shukla, Sunder Rao, and SACHIN MEHTA as members.

“As the Chair of the AAPI CME Committee, I am proud to announce that our program will be providing the highest level talks for AAPI delegates,” said Dr. Sreeni Gangasani. “Our team has worked tirelessly to curate a lineup of speakers and presentations that will provide valuable insights and information to our attendees. We understand the importance of staying up-to-date on the latest research, trends, and best practices in healthcare and beyond, which is why we have chosen speakers who are experts in their fields and who are passionate about sharing their knowledge with our delegates. We hope that our program will inspire and empower our attendees to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.”

According to Dr. Brahma Sharma, Chair of AAPI Convention CME Chair, “CME has been a major highlight of AAPI conventions. This year, our teams’ approach has been holistic and balanced, with sessions focusing on both old and new: bedside and bench side and usual care, in addition to a personalized approach to chronic diseases which have become our nemesis today. The goal is not just to educate about current concepts of chronic disease management but also inform about emerging concepts like Genomics, Gene-editing, and Artificial Intelligence, which play a critical role in managing chronic conditions. AAPI has been fortunate to be able to tap into some of the world’s leading physician-scientists in these areas of Medicine.”

In addition, there is the popular parallel track for Lifestyle Medicine, which touches Mind-Bodyside, making it a wholesome CME session, giving everyone something that they would love. I thank Dr. Ravi Kolli for giving me the opportunity to work with him and his team during the convention. I hope all these will be informative as well as enlightening CME sessions, Dr. Sharma added.

The inaugural CME session on July 6th is being led by Dr. Satheesh Kathula, Clinical Professor of Medicine and a Board Certified Hematologist and Oncologist, who will address the delegates on “Rise of Immunotherapy in Lung Cancer.” Dr. Sujeeth R Punnam, an Interventional, Structural Cardiologist & Certified Cardiac Device Specialist in Stockton, CA will present on: “Update and Long term outcomes on Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacements.”
