A Deep Dive into Global Best Practices and Real Estate’s Impact on India’s $30 Trillion Economy Vision

India’s Premier Real Estate Conclave returns to the ‘Lion City’ as over 1,200 Industry Leaders converge on the grand stage

MUMBAI: The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI), the apex body of private real estate developers, announces the 23rd edition of its flagship event, CREDAI NATCON 2025, to be held in Singapore from September 11-13, 2025. Under the transformative theme “$30 Tn economy by 2047 backed by real estate sector growth”, this premier conclave will unite over 1,200 industry leaders, including developers, investors, policymakers, financial experts, and global innovators to chart the roadmap for India’s ambitious $30 trillion economic vision.

Singapore, renowned for its visionary urban planning, technological integration, and global connectivity, serves as an ideal backdrop for NATCON 2025. Its journey from a resource-scarce island to a thriving global hub exemplifies how strategic policies and innovative design can transform cities. CREDAI NATCON 2025 aims to draw inspiration from Singapore’s success while fostering knowledge exchange to shape a future-ready India.

Following the success of previous summits—each chosen for their unique policies, development challenges, and approaches to urban growth—NATCON 2025 continues this tradition of purposeful learning. Each edition has offered valuable insights into real estate norms, regulatory frameworks, and innovative practices that inform India’s progress. This year, Singapore has been chosen to enable a deeper understanding of its commercial and residential growth models and to explore how collaborative policies, integrated planning, and innovation have shaped its urban landscape. NATCON 2025 will provide Indian developers with the opportunity to learn from Singapore’s holistic approach and adapt these insights to drive sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready development back home.

Shekhar Patel, President, CREDAI, said,

“As India moves towards becoming a $30 trillion real estate economy, CREDAI NATCON 2025 will play an important role in guiding this growth in line with India’s Vision 2047. The focus is not just on expansion, but on building responsibly with technology, sustainability, and inclusiveness at the core. India needs over 25 million new affordable homes by 2030, along with greener buildings and stronger urban infrastructure, and we believe immersive sessions during CREDAI NATCON will help us tackle these priorities. It brings together the best minds in the industry to discuss ideas, explore partnerships, and shape the policies needed for the future. Through this, we aim to make India’s real estate sector more innovative, resilient, and globally competitive.”

CREDAI NATCON 2025 will feature an inspiring lineup of visionary speakers, industry experts, policy influencers, and thought leaders who will share invaluable insights on emerging trends, global best practices, and strategic opportunities. Their diverse perspectives will empower participants to navigate challenges, embrace innovation, and contribute effectively to shaping the future of India’s real estate sector.

Pune Ranks First in Affordable Housing and Paves Its Way as A Leader in Warehouse And Office Space Sales

Pune emerges as the only non-capital city in India to witness substantial growth.

Increased sales of warehouse and office spaces promise a rise in job opportunities in Pune.

PUNE: The city of Pune, known for its affordable housing, continues to dominate the list as the ‘Preferred city for living’ in India. Pune Housing Report – September 2024, by CREDAI Pune Metro and CRE Matrix also reveals a significant rise in the sales of warehouse and office spaces for the first half of 2024 (January-June). This is a pivotal moment for the construction industry in Pune, signaling an impending surge in job opportunities within the city.

‘The Pune Housing Report – September 2024’, was recently unveiled at the Ramkumar Rathi Auditorium, CREDAI Pune Metro office in Camp by CREDAI Pune Metro President Ranjit Naiknavare, CEO of CRE Matrix Abhishek Gupta, Kapil Gandhi- Convenor Public Relations, Punit Oswal- Member of the Management Committee, Data Analyst Rahul Ajmera, Hiren Parmar and attended by more than 100 members.

Speaking about the report Ranjit Naiknavare stated, “Compared to the first half of 2019, home sales have risen by 36% in the first half of 2024, a positive indicator for the construction industry. The buyer preferences for larger homes continue to drive the market. Another important aspect is that Pune has maintained its top position in the country in terms of affordable housing. The average value of units sold in the first half of 2024 is 71 lakhs, which has grown by 39% from CY’20 indicating the affordability factor over other cities. Pune has also again emerged as the preferred city for living for the third consecutive year suggesting that residents from across the nation prefer Pune over other metro cities for job opportunities and living.” He emphasized the commitment to innovation, sustainable development, and customer satisfaction moving forward.

Abhishek Gupta elaborated on the authenticity of the “Pune Housing Report” as all data is sourced in real-time from the Registration and Stamps Department and MahaRERA. He noted, “Pune is the 2nd fastest growing city after Mumbai MMR region. As Pune retains its position in home sales, it is also emerging as a key player globally in the warehouse and office space market. Even though Pune is not a state capital, it is developing comprehensively, surpassing major cities like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. In the coming year, Pune is poised to enter the 100 million club for office spaces. Furthermore, in the warehouse sector nationally, Pune ranks second, having outperformed cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru. Recent investments, such as Microsoft’s acquisition of 16.4 acres for ₹520 crore, along with Tesla’s plans to enter the Pune market, will significantly boost the demand for office spaces and subsequently create numerous job opportunities.”

Key highlights from the Pune Housing Report – September 2024 include:

Pune has once again secured the top position in home sales in India for the first half of 2024, maintaining its leading status for three consecutive years since 2021.

Pune’s average home prices remain significantly lower compared to other metro cities, solidifying its status as the most affordable metro city in the country, and attracting both industries and migrants.

The average value of units sold in the first half of 2024 is 71 lakhs, which has grown by 39% from CY’20 indicating the affordability factor over other cities

In the first half of 2024, Pune recorded nearly 44,000 home sales valued at ₹31,000 crore.

The construction sector in Pune has witnessed a remarkable 16% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in total unit sales value over the past five years.

Compared to 2020, buyers are increasingly inclined towards larger homes this year.

The northwest regions of Pune, including Baner-Mahalunge, Pashan-Sus, and Hinjewadi-Wakad-Tathawade, account for 60% of total sales.

A comparison of the southwestern Pune area (Ambegaon-Warje-Kothrud-Bavdhan) between 2020 and the first half of 2024 shows a 44% increase in average home prices.

Employment in Pune has increased by 8% over the past five years (2019-2024), with 38% of residents working in A and A+ grade offices.
PUNE: In an endeavor to create skilled Civil Engineers, CREDAI Pune Metro signed an MoU with Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology (VIIT) Pune. To make them industry-ready, CREDAI will be working towards imparting the students with skill-based practical and on-site training. The MOU was signed by Ranjit Naiknavare – President of CREDAI Pune Metro and Bharat Agarwal- Managing Trustee of VIIT Pune at CREDAI Pune Metro office, Nucleus Mall, Camp, Pune. The initiative is jointly undertaken by CREDAI Pune Metro, the Team of CREDAI Kushal, led by Kapil Trimal.

Speaking during the signing of the MOU, Ranjit Naiknavare said, ” The real estate sector in Pune has been on the rise for the last few years and we see the trend continuing for years to come. To be able to cater to this rise, we need skilled industry-ready engineers. Pune produces several Civil Engineers however, they are not well versed with the practical skills required to work on a project site, despite some of them undertaking internships.”

“To bridge this industry-academia gap, we have created this unique upskilling program to provide the Civil Engineering students of VIIT-Pune a 360-degree comprehensive training program aimed at providing practical skills required for on-the-job implementation. We are glad to have signed an MOU to this effect with a prestigious institute like VIIT Pune.”

“Under the MOU, civil engineering students will be able to get hands-on training from the first year of the degree. The training program can be completed by students in 5 semesters. It will involve 200 hours of onsite training wherein CREDAI team members will impart comprehensive knowledge covering all practical aspects of working on a construction site.” he added further.

This is the first such attempt in the country and we are happy to associate with CREDAI to take this forward as the onsite practical training for Civil Engineering students is crucial for their future and the progress of the real estate sector as well”.

Adding further he said, “We believe this initiative will create an ecosystem that accommodates innovators as their theoretical knowledge will be complemented with onsite skill development. The mark sheets of students will also have a mention of the completion of the training.”
