PUNE: Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited, inaugurated the Adhikaar Connect Kendra and flagged off Adhikaar Connect Vahan at Navlakh Umbre in Maval, Pune, reinforcing its commitment towards inclusive development and welfare accessibility in Maharashtra. The inauguration in Pune marks the next phase of implementation under Hyundai’s broader CSR commitment announced in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra as part of the HMIF’s ₹56 crore social development investment in the state.

Project Adhikaar Connect is designed to support underserved and vulnerable communities in accessing Government welfare and social security schemes through assisted documentation, eligibility guidance, application facilitation, and doorstep outreach services. The initiative seeks to bridge the gap between welfare provisions and citizens who often face challenges in navigating access to these entitlements.

The initiative is expected to unlock social security benefits worth
INR 350+ crores for the citizens of Maharashtra. Every year, it aims to positively impact over 1 lakh individuals, ensuring these benefits are catered to the maximum possible people across the region. The programme will particularly focus on remote and underserved communities, ensuring that access to welfare reaches those who need it the most.

Citizens will be issued a Yojana Card – a digital identity that enables easy access to benefits along with structured record-keeping. The Adhikaar Connect Kendra will also serve as a resource hub by offering digital enablement support, financial literacy programs, and skill-building opportunities to strengthen community capabilities.

The initiative will be implemented through trained community facilitators known as Adhikaar Sakhis, supported by Adhikaar Connect Vahan – outreach units that will help extend services to villages and hard-to-reach areas. Nearly 200 Adhikaar Sakhis and volunteers will be engaged under the initiative to support citizen facilitation and awareness generation at the grassroots level.

Focusing on the greater impact, Project Adhikaar Connect is significantly operating in Pune, Nashik, and Gurugram. It is now expanding to the Gadchiroli district in Maharashtra, strengthening its reach to remote and underserved communities.

PUNE: Mitsubishi Electric India,  in collaboration with Earthwatch Institute India, commemorated World Earth Day 2026 through an on-ground employee engagement programme at Talegaon Dabhade Lake, near Pune, as part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative on lake conservation.

As part of the programme, employees participated in a guided lakeside “Walk & Talk” session, exploring the importance of urban blue and green spaces using digital field guides and interactive applications. This was followed by a clean-up drive and plantation activity aimed at improving the lake environment. Employees also attended a session on carbon and water footprints, gaining practical insights into measuring and reducing environmental impact, supported by demonstrations of tools such as automatic weather stations, air quality systems, and water quality assessment technologies.

The programme concluded with a reflection session and group discussion to reinforce key learnings and encourage long-term behavioural change.

The engagement marks one year of Mitsubishi Electric India’s CSR initiative on lake conservation, launched in FY 2024-25 in partnership with Earthwatch Institute India. Focused on protecting waterbodies and strengthening surrounding biodiversity in Talegaon and nearby regions, the initiative combines ecological restoration with community participation and science-based learning.

Over the past year, the programme has included biodiversity mapping of multiple lakes in the region, development of digital field guides, and citizen science initiatives involving students, women’s groups, and local communities. It has also supported plantation efforts, environmental education, and capacity building to encourage sustained community-led conservation.

NEW DELHI: Maruti Suzuki India Limited (“Maruti Suzuki”) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (“MoA”) with the Transport Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, for set up and maintenance of 4 Automated Driving Test Tracks (“ADTTs”) across the state under the Company’s CSR initiative.

The ADTTs will be set up at four Regional Transport Office (RTO) locations in the state, namely Eluru, Ongole, Vizianagaram, and Anakapalli. Under the MoA, Maruti Suzuki will automate and maintain these driving test tracks for a period of 3 years from the date of commissioning.

The ADTTs will be equipped with high-definition cameras, RFID sensors, real-time analytics, and an integrated IT system to enable a technology-enabled, standardized, and objective driving license testing process. With zero human intervention, the ADTTs are aimed at making license testing more comprehensive, efficient, and transparent. The rigorous and standardized evaluation process is designed to assess candidates according to the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR). Test results are also automatically generated.

Speaking on the initiative, Hisashi Takeuchi, MD & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “During my meeting with Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Chandrababu Naidu, I was impressed by his love for technology. Aligned with his vision for technology-led solutions, we are honoured to bring 4 Automated Driving Test Tracks (ADTTs) to the state of Andhra Pradesh. ADTTs use advanced technology that ensures a comprehensive, efficient, and transparent process with zero human intervention. This guarantees that only skilled drivers are awarded a driving license, thereby improving overall road safety.”

Speaking at the MoA signing, Manish Kumar Sinha, IPS, Transport Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh, said, “I commend Maruti Suzuki, India’s leading passenger vehicle manufacturer, for its significant contribution to road safety through the launch of Automated Driving Test Tracks (ADTTs) across the state. In this project, Maruti Suzuki will extend support by providing technology in the areas of integration with the SARATHI** system, training of personnel, and routine maintenance for a period of 3 years. The Transport Department, on its part, will provide the required infrastructure at the existing driving tracks, undertake civil works, ensure security and electricity supply, and conduct driving tests and issuance of driving licenses using the automated system.”

He added, “The automation of driving test tracks is expected to bring greater uniformity and objectivity in the testing process and ensure that driving licenses are issued only to candidates with the requisite driving skills, thereby strengthening road safety in the state.”

The ADTTs in Eluru, Vizianagaram, Ongole, and Anakapalli will serve Light Motor Vehicles (LMV) and Two-Wheelers (TW) driving license applicants. The ADTT in Ongole will additionally serve Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving license applicants.

Maruti Suzuki’s efforts in Road Safety:

Maruti Suzuki promotes road safety through the 5Es, i.e., Engineering, Education, Evaluation, Enforcement, and Emergency Care. One of the most significant projects in this direction is the large-scale rollout of ADTTs.

To date, Maruti Suzuki has fully automated 46 ADTTs across seven states, including Uttar Pradesh (17), Delhi (14), Bihar (7), Uttarakhand (4), Haryana (2), Chhattisgarh (1), and Jammu & Kashmir (1). In 2025, the Company also signed MoAs with the Transport Department of Rajasthan to set up 21 ADTTs and the Transport Department of Tamil Nadu to set up 10 ADTTs. With the addition of 4 ADTTs in Andhra Pradesh, Maruti Suzuki’s ADTT footprint will expand to 81 ADTTs nationwide.

The Company has also set up 8 Institutes of Driving and Traffic Research (IDTRs) and 23 Road Safety Knowledge Centres (RSKCs) in collaboration with various State Governments to equip drivers with essential driving knowledge and skills.

Additionally, the Company implements Integrated Traffic Safety Management System (ITMS) projects with real-time monitoring and surveillance in select areas to support law enforcement and promote disciplined driving behaviour. To enhance emergency care, the Company offers First Responder training to commercial drivers and other stakeholders.

MUMBAI: UST, a leading AI and technology transformation solutions company, has won two awards at the Indian CSR Awards 2025 in the categories of ‘Most Impactful Save Water Initiative of the Year’ and ‘Education, Health and Livelihood Initiatives for People with Disabilities (PWDs)’. This marks the fourth consecutive year that UST has been recognized at the Indian CSR Awards, underscoring the company’s long-term commitment to community-led, sustainable social impact.

Since its inception in 1999, UST has been driven by its mission of Transforming Lives, implementing 127 projects across nine states and positively impacting over one lakh people. On water conservation efforts, UST has been working on large-scale conservation efforts with local NGOs and communities. In the year 2024-25, it included the rejuvenation of Hettanahalli Lake in Karnataka and Karanaithangal Lake in Tamil Nadu with the Environmentalist Foundation of India, restoring 60 acres and conserving an estimated 170 billion gallons of water. Other notable projects include Project Paryavarna, which restored eight water troughs for wildlife in Coimbatore, along with multiple watershed programs that blend scientific methods with volunteer action to strengthen water security and livelihoods. UST has worked on a total of 6 projects for conserving water bodies across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka in the past 3 years. It is a part of our environmental programs, including tree plantation, coastal area conservation, and forest conservation projects, along with water body rejuvenation initiatives.

UST’s recognition for education, health, and livelihood initiatives for persons with disabilities includes key activities such as the SkillSync vocational program for children on the autism spectrum, the UST-V Able Scholarship Program supporting 167 students with disabilities across six states, and infrastructure upgrades benefitting nearly 170 students at special schools. UST has also supported PWD’s mobility and accessibility with assistive devices such as wheelchairs, transfer hoists, and visual-aid tools. UST CSR’s focus on disability and social inclusion also builds partnerships and collaborations for wider reach and access to the needy communities. These programs have been implemented with the non-profit partners like Vidhyadhan, Academy for Severe Handicaps and Autism RampMyCity Foundation, and Neomotion.

The Adhikaar Connect programme, announced in Nashik and Talegaon, will bridge the gaps in public welfare access through assistance in documentation and application processes while promoting digital and financial literacy in rural communities. Additionally, HMIF’s ongoing pan India programs will also deepen the community development efforts in Maharashtra like advancing healthcare access through Sparsh Sanjeevani Telemedicine Clinics and Mobile Medical Units, Cancer awareness and treatment support under Hope for Cancer, Center of Excellence to promote grassroots sport talents under Sports Lab, Financial grants for promotion of art and culture under Art for hope and Driver training and automotive trainings under Drive4Progress.

Through this initiative, FFPL has positively transformed the lives of around 60,000 people across Pune (Maharashtra), Hosur (Tamil Nadu), Sitarganj (Uttarakhand), and Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), by enabling clean drinking water access and sanitation infrastructure, where previously these communities faced a lot of challenges. The flagship CSR project of AM/NS India, Beti Padhao Scholarship, aims to bridge the gap in education finance by offering scholarships to young women from economically weaker sections to fulfil their academic aspirations. The initiative is aligned with the government’s efforts to promote the education of the girl child. The scholarship recipients range from class 9 students to those pursuing higher secondary education, graduation, ITI, diploma, engineering, medical, professional courses, as well as athletes in national and state sports. Under this initiative, AM/NS India is awarding scholarships to girl students in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.

The scholarships were presented to the recipients by the Chief Guest, Deputy Collector, Pune, Smt. Punam Ahire. Present on the occasion from AM/NS India were Head (Downstream – HR) Mukund Jagirdar & Head (Operations) Hemant Pandhareamong others.

AM/NS India has partnered with Protean eGov Technologies for mobilising the scholarships. Key activities include:
● Training 25 Self-Help Groups, including women and fisherfolk communities, to serve as Lake Stewards and lead local conservation efforts
● Tree plantations around the lake in Talegaon Dabhade, Pimpri Chinchwad, and Pulicat to reduce soil erosion, stabilise banks, and improve air quality
● Working on setting up an ecosystem suitable for native species to enhance ecological balance and support biodiversity
● Citizen science programmes and school workshops on water quality, health, hygiene and sanitation
● Experiential learning programmes and Interactive educational resources to build a science-based understanding of the possible impact of climate change on waterbodies and the need to take greater care of waterbodies
● Digital field guides to connect people with biodiversity surrounding the lakes and wetlands.

“Conserving waterbodies is essential in the face of growing climate risks. Through this initiative, we are not only working to restore vital ecosystems, but also inspiring people, especially the younger generation, to adopt environmentally responsible practices,” said Atsushi Takase, Managing Director, Mitsubishi Electric India. “Our focus on clean air, water, and green spaces reflects our long-term commitment to building a healthier living environment for all.”

“Through this initiative, this partnership will engage multiple stakeholders to promote the conservation of waterbodies. The initiative will continue until March 2026, focusing on combining a wide range of programmes with diverse stakeholders and community networks to conserve these waterbodies, while increasing awareness about climate change. It highlights Mitsubishi Electric India’s commitment to meaningful and inclusive CSR efforts and its belief in contributing to a better tomorrow.
