<p><strong>GURGAON:</strong> Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility Limited (ATEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Total Gas Limited (ATGL), and part of the diversified Adani Portfolio and MG Motor India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the EV charging infrastructure in India. The collaboration to develop charging solutions for electric vehicles (EV) and value-added services to MG&#8217;s EV customers nationwide will underpin India&#8217;s rapidly evolving EV ecosystem by helping build a robust and efficient charging infrastructure.</p>



<p>In terms of MoU, Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility Limited (ATEL) will set up CC2 60 kW DC chargers at upcoming MG dealerships to bolster the charging network and enhance customer accessibility. The partnership will also provide a comprehensive solution encompassing supply, installation, commissioning, operations, and maintenance of charging infrastructure. In addition, a digital platform will be launched to facilitate a seamless customer experience, covering discovery, user authentication, charging, and billing settlement through a dedicated mobile application.</p>



<p>Under this strategic partnership, both parties shall explore the potential of integrating public charging stations across platforms by leveraging advanced application programming interfaces (APIs) to enhance network visibility and accessibility. This integration will offer increased accessibility and visibility to the PCS Network and a seamless experience across the integrated network owned and deployed by both entities.</p>

Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility Limited’s and MG Motor India’s partnership to develop charging infrastructure marks a significant milestone and will play a crucial role in accelerating India&#8217;s energy transition. <p>The collaboration will enhance customer experience with RIFD solutions accessible to MG users at the strategic locations of ATEL’s public charging network, especially at places such as airports. ATEL will offer RFID cards to MG through bulk purchase arrangements, featuring preferential discount offerings for MG users.</p>



<p>As an early mover in the EV space, MG India’s focus has been on developing product offerings and establishing a robust EV charging infrastructure to ensure convenience in the adoption of electric vehicles. MG also has a 6-way charging infrastructure to make electric vehicle usage more convenient and accessible.</p>

<p><strong>PUNE:</strong> Vitesco Technologies, a global supplier of advanced powertrain technologies and solutions for e-mobility, has unveiled the EMR3 electric axle drive for off-road vehicles. The company presented a world premiere at EICMA 2023, showcasing the M-Two electric SSV by German manufacturer Mandrill, which is powered by the highly integrated electric axle drive EMR3. The prototype vehicle is already being used for test drives and is impressive proof that Vitesco Technologies&#8217; automotive background enables them to serve the growing global demand for electrification in the off-road market.</p>



<p>The EMR3 is a compact, lightweight unit that consists of a permanent magnet synchronous motor, power electronics, and a reduction gear. This scalable electric drive can mobilize up to 150 kW of power and a torque of up to 2,900 Nm, weighs only 76 kilograms, and its dimensions are barely larger than a piece of carry-on luggage. The highly integrated system does not need any internal plugs or cables when connecting the motor and inverter, which also contributes to its robustness.</p>



<p>The M-Two electric SSV is an all-wheel-drive vehicle that uses one EMR3 each on the front and rear axles. The PDCU (Powertrain Domain Control Unit), which the two-wheeler and power sports specialists at Vitesco Technologies have further developed for use in the M-Two, serves as an interface box containing full functionality and can be adapted to the specific purpose of the off-road vehicle. The company anticipates significant growth in electric off-road vehicles such as SSVs and UTVs, which are SSVs where the main focus is utility.</p>

<p>The waterproof off-roader (to IP67/69 standard) will initially be launched in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. From 2025, Mandrill plans to market the vehicle worldwide, including in North America, the main market for SSVs. The company has also received inquiries from teams who would like to deploy the M-Two in the Dakar Rally. <p><strong>INDIA: </strong>Schaeffler, the leading global supplier to the automotive and industrial sectors, is expanding its software and electronics expertise. Today, the company inaugurated a new center of competence in software development in Pune, India. Electronics and software for the company&#8217;s automotive components and systems especially for e-mobility and chassis applications will be developed here in the future as a strategically <a>i</a>mportant part of a powerful international R&amp;D network. Schaeffler will be investing 10 million euros in its new location<strong>.</strong></p>



<p>The newly formed entity Schaeffler Technology Solutions India Private Limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Schaeffler Group and will be<strong> </strong>employing 200 engineers in India by end of 2022<strong> </strong>and will be part of Schaeffler’s E-Mobility business division. Schaeffler plans to ramp up the development team in India during the next years, making the country a main location and competence center for software and electronics development for Schaeffler.</p>



<p><strong>Uwe Wagner, Chief Technology Officer at Schaeffler AG</strong>, said, “<em>Strengthening competencies in mechatronics, electronics, and software plays a decisive role in Schaeffler&#8217;s company strategy Roadmap 2025. In this way, we will actively shape the transformation toward sustainable and electrified mobility. As part of the Schaeffler global R&amp;D network, the newly established entity Schaeffler Technology Solutions India Private Limited in Pune will here play a key role. Together, we are very well equipped to continue our successful journey to pioneer motion</em>.”</p>



<p>“<em>Electrified powertrains have been part of Schaeffler’s core business since 2018 and we have become a leading systems supplier in electromobility in recent years. To further strengthen and expand this position, we will rely on a global R&amp;D network for software and electronics development in the future. Our newly formed entity Schaeffler Technology Solutions India Private Limited in Pune will become the main location in this network</em>,” said <strong>Dr. Jochen Schröder, head of the E-Mobility business division of Schaeffler.</strong></p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-focus-on-software-for-e-mobility-projects"><strong>Focus on software for e-mobility projects</strong></h4>



<p>Schaeffler already offers a very broad range of solutions for electric drives and is aiming for major growth in this area. The company develops everything from individual electromobility components to highly complex systems such as a 4in1 electric that integrates electric motors, power electronics, transmission, and thermal management into one comprehensive system. This strategy of developing both individual components and complete systems for electric powertrains is paying off for Schaeffler – both technically and commercially. During the first nine months of 2022, the e-mobility business at Schaeffler totaled an order intake of 4.7 billion euros relating to the E-Mobility business division.</p>



<p>The engineers at the new technology center in Pune will be contributing to this business in the areas of software development, electronics, mechatronics, and validation which are key to seamlessly blending electrical and mechanical components for overall system reliability and efficiency.</p>
