MUMBAI: All India Association of Industries (AIAI) applauds the signing of the historic Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between India and Oman, marking a new chapter in India’s trade relations with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. Signed today in Muscat during the official visit of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, this agreement is set to unlock unprecedented opportunities for Indian exporters, particularly in the labour-intensive and MSME sectors.

Welcoming the signing of the pact, Dr. Vijay Kalantri, President, All India Association of Industries (AIAI) and Chairman, World Trade Centre Mumbai, stated, “The India-Oman CEPA is a landmark milestone that will serve as a force multiplier for India’s manufacturing and services sectors. By securing zero-duty access for over 99% of Indian exports, the government has provided a substantial competitive edge to our MSMEs and exporters in textiles, gems & jewellery, engineering, and pharmaceuticals. Oman is not just a key trading partner but a strategic gateway for Indian businesses to access the wider markets of the GCC, Africa, and the Middle East.”

“This agreement goes beyond trade in goods; it commits to the liberalization of service sectors and the facilitation of professional mobility, allowing Indian talent to contribute significantly to Oman’s development. We foresee bilateral trade surpassing its current trajectory to reach new heights in the coming years,” Dr. Kalantri added.

The agreement eliminates duties on 98.08% of Oman’s tariff lines and gives 100% commitment on FDI for Indian companies in major service sectors. This will bring immediate relief and competitiveness to Labour-Intensive Sectors, Manufacturing, Engineering, Services & Investment. It is also notable that this is Oman’s first bilateral agreement since 2006 and India’s second FTA in the last 6 months, showcasing our increasing willingness to integrate into global markets.

The flagship 10 kVA and 25 kVA gas gensets from Cooper Corporation are the only EPA-compliant engines that will be exported from India for the first time

PUNE: Cooper Corporation, a globally renowned manufacturer of engines, engine components, and generators, proudly announced the dispatch of its first bulk shipment of gas-powered gensets to the United States. This milestone marks the beginning of Cooper’s full-scale export, the first of many to the USA, with the company set to export gensets ranging from 5 kVA to 500 kVA, each approved by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The flagship 10 kVA and 25 kVA gas genset from Cooper Corporation are the only EPA-compliant engine of its kind in India, showcasing the company’s engineering excellence and commitment to environmental compliance. The gensets, particularly the 25 kVA variant, have received encouraging responses from the American market.

Alongside the US, Cooper is also exporting its V-Twin LPG 10 kVA gensets to Japan, in collaboration with its Japanese partner, Sinfonia. This international expansion signifies Cooper’s growing footprint in the global power solutions industry.

Sharing his thoughts on this proud occasion, Farrokh N. Cooper, Chairman and Managing Director of Cooper Corporation Pvt. Ltd., said, “Today marks a historic and proud milestone for Cooper Corporation as we commence large-scale exports of EPA-certified gensets to the United States, a testament to our unwavering commitment to innovation, quality, and compliance with global environmental standards. As pioneers in the industry and the only Indian manufacturer of EPA-compliant 25 kVA gas gensets, we are proud to dispatch our first of many bulk shipments of 22 kW gensets to the U.S., while also expanding our global footprint with exports of V-Twin LPG 10 kVA gensets to Japan in partnership with Sinfonia.

On the domestic front, our engines have reliably served the Indian Defence Forces for over a decade, including during Operation Sindoor, and our recent launch of a 50 HP tractor in February 2025 has been met with an encouraging response. These achievements are driven by the dedication of our team, the trust of our customers and suppliers, and our deep roots in Satara, where our legacy spans over a century. Guided by the vision of our founder, Sir Dhanjishah B. Cooper, we remain committed to delivering world-class, India-made solutions to markets around the globe”.

In recent months, the company has also achieved success in the agricultural segment with the launch of its 50 HP tractor in February 2025, receiving strong interest from domestic markets.

Notably, Cooper engines have been used by the Indian Defence Forces for over a decade. They were instrumental in Operation Sindoor, where the structural rigidity of the engine and their reliable performance under challenging conditions earned praise from the Armed Forces.

Rooted in a century of engineering excellence and dedication to national development, Cooper Corporation proudly honors its heritage. Headquartered in Satara, the company traces its origins to its founder, Sir Dhanjishah B. Cooper, who was the first Chief Minister from Satara, a region that has since produced five Chief Ministers of Maharashtra. This rich legacy continues to inspire Cooper’s mission to drive innovation and contribute meaningfully to India’s progress.

For over three decades, Cooper’s products have made a significant impact in the American market, particularly in the Genset segment. Upholding a legacy of consistent success, Cooper has maintained a tradition of excellence driven by innovation, reliability, and performance.

This extraordinary journey has been steered by the visionary leadership of Farrokh N. Cooper. Under his guidance, the steadfast commitment of Genset material suppliers, officers, workers, and employees has been instrumental in driving sustained growth and earning global recognition.

MUMBAI: Masala King Dr. Dhananjay Datar, CMD, Adil Group of Superstores, has expressed his readiness to export the products of Indian entrepreneurs to Dubai and other Gulf destinations. He expressed that he would be happy to guide those businesses who are willing to expand into the global market via Dubai.

He was talking to a delegation of entrepreneurs from Solapur city in Maharashtra. These entrepreneurs, under the leadership of Subhash Deshmukh, MLA, presented popular local products, including ‘Shenga Chutney’, ‘Kadak Bhakari’, etc, along with high-quality jowar, rice, and pulses. A bag manufacturer also made a presentation of novel packaging solutions. Dr. Datar appreciated the quality of these products and showed his willingness to purchase them through his Adil Group.

He guided the delegation on various aspects of export to Dubai, including the process, essential documents, legal provisions, and rules regarding quality and packing, besides how to take care of marketing and customer care. Dhananjay Datar said, “The export from India to GCC countries, including UAE, is mainly carried out through water transport due to its affordability. Since the journey takes at least 20 days to reach the consignments there, exporters should not consider fast perishable items. Instead, they should opt for products having a shelf life of at least six months or a year. Our Adil Group has earned a reputation for providing pure, hygienic, and authentic food products. Nowadays, health consciousness is on the rise, and customers prefer organic food. Recently, we started selling Khapali, a nutritious variety of wheat under our Peacock brand, and the response was overwhelming. Exporters should keep the packaging of their products secure and tamper-proof. If they provide natural, chemical-free, adulteration-free, and healthy products, they will surely get a considerable profit. The laws and policies of Gulf countries are stringent, and adulteration, cheating, harm to consumers, and the supply of unhygienic products are never tolerated. So, the exporters should adhere to strict discipline before they export.”

Dhananjay Datar further said, “Indian entrepreneurs have huge opportunities for growth, export, and expansion in the global market shortly. The Indian economy is on a fast track, and a lot of major infrastructure development work is underway. One of the notable examples is the upcoming Wadhwan International Port in Maharashtra. In a decade, Mumbai will have 2 international ports and 2 international airports. The rising connectivity between these ports and the rest of the country will surely benefit the exporters, but they have to take advantage of this development well in time. The aspiring entrepreneurs should study the process of Import-export as early as possible. My dream is to guide hundreds of young aspirants to make them successful businessmen.”

The delegation included Amit Jain, Director, Solapur Garments Manufacturers Association; Dr. Rajesh Gurani, CEO, Udyam PAHSUI Foundation; Alpesh Sanklecha, Vijay Patil, Yash Jain, Pradeep Jain, Anand Zaad, and Chandrashekhar Jadhav.

MUMBAI: “India’s exports have seen a huge rise in the last decade to reach a historic level and the momentum is likely to continue for the next decade. Phenomena favorable to the export sector are taking place in India, especially in Maharashtra. In this scenario, Indian entrepreneurs should grab the opportunities in the export sector at the right time,” advised Masala King Dr. Dhananjay Datar, CMD, Adil Group of Superstores, Dubai, UAE.

He was speaking as Chief Guest at the Maharashtra Business Enclave 2025, an event organized by Miti Group. This conference took place recently at Welingkar Institute of Management, Matunga, and was attended by entrepreneurs and many renowned personalities from the industry and business sectors of Maharashtra.

Datar said, “India is set to become a $5 trillion economy in the next couple of years and export will hold a lion’s share in achieving this target. The Indian government has started many ambitious schemes to encourage local exporters. The new Foreign Trade Policy was announced two years ago. Infrastructure projects, necessary to Industry-Business-Trade, which began a decade ago, are in the completion stage now. This will boost the local volume, as well as the export of products and services manifold. If the ambitious multinational mega project like the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC) gets completed in the coming decade, there will be a huge rise in Indian exports to Europe, and time and cost will also be saved considerably. In India, revolutionary projects like the Dedicated Freights Corridor (DFC), Samruddhi Mahamarg, and Navi Mumbai International Airport will be operational soon. The recently announced Wadhwan International Port project, after getting completed, will surely make Maharashtra a forerunner in Indian export. The next five to ten years are crucial to trade and export development and hence entrepreneurs should ash the opportunities well in time.”

He further said, “I have witnessed the construction of Jebel Ali Port in Dubai and JNPT port in Navi Mumbai 4 decades ago and also seen the fast development of adjoining areas once these projects started commencing operations. Now the same opportunity will come to us once the Wadhwan port is completed in a decade. This project alone will fetch myriad opportunities for MSME sectors and huge development will take place in Palghar, Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad districts. If entrepreneurs, by taking education in export management, start export-oriented businesses now, they will become established businesses in a decade and will taste profit. Also, there will be several business and employment opportunities in sectors like Logistics, Construction, supply chains, Cold storage, Tourism, Agroproducts, Processing, Packaging, and supporting industries. The positive factors like currency exchange rate benefits, tax refund facilities, government’s encouraging subsidies and aids are best suited to start export-oriented businesses. Management education institutes and various Chambers of Commerce should guide and encourage the youth for the same.”

In an interview conducted by Uttara Mone of Miti Group, Dr. Datar elaborated on his entrepreneurial journey and the challenges in it, his study of foreign markets, and the changes he adopted in his business based on his experiences. He guided the audience about overcoming challenges in doing business in foreign markets and learning the laws, taxes, and policies of other countries. The conference also saw several seminars on important subjects like opportunities in global markets, leadership and organizational skills, digital businesses and marketing, financial management, and sustainability in business.
