India’s No. 1 tractor export brand Sonalika continues to combine product innovation with deep farmer engagement and leverage agile market outreach to stay ahead of the curve, as precision farming and advanced agri-technologies gain ground across regions.

PUNE: In its landmark 30th year of nation-building through agricultural mechanisation, Sonalika Tractors has added a new golden chapter to its journey by recording its highest-ever February overall sales of 12,890 tractors in FY’26. The new historic performance is a powerful affirmation of its robust execution at scale and embodiment of Sonalika’s core belief of delivering ‘Jeetne Ka Dum’ – an inherent strength promising a vibrant future for farmers. As precision farming and advanced agri-technologies gain ground across regions, Sonalika continues to combine product innovation with deep farmer engagement and agile market outreach to stay ahead of the curve.

India’s agricultural ecosystem is witnessing a defining phase with strong policy support, accelerated mechanisation through digital initiatives, improved credit accessibility, and enhanced rural infrastructure spending aimed at increasing farm productivity and income. Sonalika has consistently pushed global engineering excellence by developing future-ready tractors such as the recently launched Sonalika Gold series, which is aligned with grassroots agricultural realities, ensuring future security like gold and long-term value creation for farmers. Sonalika believes mechanisation is more than a necessity for sustainable farming and remains aligned, agile, and ambitious to further strengthen its role as a long-term growth partner to the Indian farmer.

Sharing his thoughts on the new record performance, Mr. Raman Mittal, Joint Managing Director, International Tractors Limited, said, “The real ‘Jeetne ka Dum’ has always belonged to farmers who rise every day to cultivate progress in their fields. We take it as our responsibility to engineer heavy-duty tractors that amplify farmers’ ambitions and determination to succeed in life. Clocking our record February performance of 12,890 overall tractor sales in this special 30th year milestone is indeed special for us and reinforces the brand’s position as a growth catalyst for India’s agricultural transformation. This landmark year also renews our responsibility to transform farmers’ potential into measurable progress and accelerate India’s growth story to strengthen rural prosperity.”

MUMBAI: The Meghalaya State Agricultural Marketing Board (MSAMB), Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of Meghalaya, has organized a Market Exposure Visit to Dubai from 16th to 18th March 2025. This initiative aligns with Meghalaya’s Vision 2028, which aims to transform the state into a USD 10 billion economy by leveraging its rich natural resources, strengthening international market linkages, and creating sustainable economic opportunities for its people.

The visit is a part of Meghalaya’s broader agenda to promote its organic and natural agricultural products, empower farmers through market access, and strengthen Meghalaya’s presence in the global agri-business sector. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been identified as a key market for Meghalaya’s produce, given its demand for high-quality products and its position as a global trade hub.

Nestled in the heart of Northeast India, Meghalaya, known as the “Abode of Clouds,” is home to unique ecosystems, fertile lands, and a predominantly agrarian population. With over 80% of Meghalaya’s population engaged in agriculture, the state has focused on developing sustainable farming systems, promoting organic cultivation, and integrating farmers into high-value global supply chains.

Meghalaya has taken progressive steps to enhance agricultural productivity, encourage farmer collectivization, and promote exports. Through initiatives like the Meghalaya State Agricultural Marketing Board (MSAMB), Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and Mission Organic Value Chain Development (MOVCD-NER), the state has facilitated aggregation, value addition, and branding of its premium produce, including GI-tagged Khasi Mandarin, Lakadong Turmeric, Organic Ginger, and Pineapple.

Key Events in Dubai:

The Meghalaya delegation, comprising senior government officials, FPO representatives, and entrepreneurs, will participate in the following key events:

17th March 2025: Product Showcase at Our Wellness Village Café, Sahara Centre, Sharjah

Exclusive promotion of Meghalaya’s organic products to UAE consumers and businesses.

Interaction with buyers, retailers, and hospitality industry stakeholders.

18th March 2025: Promotional Event at Lulu Hypermarket, Silicon Oasis, Dubai

Display and retail promotion of Meghalaya’s premium agricultural products

Meetings with trade partners to expand export volumes and explore new product categories.

The state’s “Meghalaya Model of Development” focuses on sustainable economic growth while ensuring environmental conservation, local community empowerment, and inclusive progress.

Recognizing the potential of Meghalaya’s organic produce in international markets, MSAMB signed an MoU with Lulu Group International in November 2023 anchored by The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA). This strategic partnership has already resulted in the successful export of GI-tagged Khasi Mandarin, Pineapple, and Ginger to Dubai, marking a significant milestone in Meghalaya’s agricultural export journey.

Building upon this success, the Dubai Market Exposure Visit will further strengthen trade relationships, open new channels for export, and enhance global awareness about Meghalaya’s unique agricultural offerings

The Market Exposure Visit to Dubai is designed to:

Strengthen trade and business linkages between Meghalaya and the UAE.

Provide farmer representatives with direct exposure to global market trends and consumer preferences.

Promote Meghalaya’s organic and GI-tagged products in the UAE retail sector.

A game-changing Integrated Pest Management solution designed to enhance crop yields while reducing chemical dependency.

Engineered to target over 80 pest species across 30+ crop families, empowering farmers with sustainable and cost-effective technology.

PUNE: Wavar, a leader in sustainable agricultural innovation, has introduced Wavar Jadugar, a revolutionary product designed to transform how Indian farmers manage pest challenges. Built on advanced Integrated Pest Management (IPM) technology, Jadugar offers a powerful and eco-friendly approach to improving crop health and farmer profitability.

Jadugar works by targeting specific pest species that threaten crops, using innovative mechanisms to disrupt their life cycles. Unlike conventional methods that rely heavily on chemical pesticides, Jadugar integrates automation and precision to attract and neutralize pests, reducing their impact on crops.

A key differentiator of Jadugar is its time of operation. The product works autonomously during the critical evening hours, a period when pest activity peaks after sunset. This targeted approach ensures maximum effectiveness in protecting crops. Additionally, Jadugar is completely powered by solar energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that keeps operational costs low for farmers while promoting sustainable farming practices.

Speaking at the launch, Sanjay Shirodkar, Co-founder of Wavar, said, “At Wavar, our mission is to enable farmers to overcome agricultural challenges through sustainable and effective solutions. Jadugar represents a significant leap forward, offering a practical, efficient, and environmentally conscious way to address pest-related issues. By adopting this technology, farmers can achieve better outcomes while protecting their land and future generations.”

Wavar Jadugar is designed for versatility, catering to over 30 crop families, including chili, tomato, brinjal, soybean, maize, turmeric, and vegetables. The product is engineered to work round the clock, providing continuous protection without the need for constant human intervention. Farmers using Jadugar have

reported not only improved crop health but also significant savings on pesticide costs, underscoring its dual benefits of cost-effectiveness and ease of use.

The technology behind Jadugar reflects Wavar’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. Focusing on breaking pest life cycles rather than merely controlling visible outbreaks, it ensures long-term results that align with sustainable farming practices. Field trials and early adoption have demonstrated its effectiveness in reducing crop losses, ensuring that farmers can rely on it as a dependable solution.

Wavar’s journey in promoting sustainable agriculture has seen significant milestones through its collaborations with Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) across India. With the launch of Jadugar, the company is furthering its vision of revolutionizing agriculture by empowering farmers with tools that not only address immediate challenges but also ensure long-term ecological balance.

Showcase our traditional, yet slowly fading arts and crafts.

Promote sustainable and eco-friendly manufacturing techniques for natural, upcycled, recycled, organic and bio-degradable products

Some of the featured participants at the fair and their uniqueness:

1. Sridevi Handlooms – Ikat, Kalamkari, Indonesian Ikat fabrics, stoles etc- Nalgonda, Telangana

Traditional and modern Ikat designs are hand-woven by women on a loom at their homes in Nalgonda, Telangana. All dyes used are chemical-free hence, the fabric does not run color, doesn’t fade easily, and is soft and breathable on the skin.

Complex Indonesian Ikat weaves are also available here. Fabric is bought by various large and small boutiques across the country.

2. Saath Foundation – Tangalia & Rajkot Patola, Fabrics, Sarees, Salwar sets, etc. – Surendranagar, Gujarat

Patola and Tangalia arts are several centuries old.

Patola is a weave, the raw material used for patolas is traditionally silk. Weaving is an intensive process that includes the entire family from dyeing the silk threads, marking the design, and then weaving.

Tangaliya is woven on a pitloom: a small and simple loom that is installed in a pit. The loom is operated by two foot-pedals (in the pit), leaving the hands of the weaver free for the dana-work.

Saath Foundation is helping these dying arts by extending support to the weavers in sourcing raw materials at competitive prices, product innovation and finding new markets for improving sales.

3. Kapileshwar Mohanto – Kotpad Thann Fabric, Stoles – Odisha

Kotpad fabrics are made using traditional techniques involving the use of cow dung, oil, and natural dyes. Made by tribals on traditional wooden looms, these fabrics and stoles are good on the skin and long-lasting.

4. ReCharkha – Recycled Lifestyle products – Pune

Tribal women and youth manually weave fabric from waste plastic using a traditional Charkha (Spindle) and handloom. The fabric is then used to make recycled lifestyle products such as handbags, fashion accessories, office utilities, and home décor.

Their present focus is to resolve the issue of waste management, particularly that of the non-biodegradable and difficult-to-recycle plastic waste, and create livelihood opportunities.

5. Seva Nidhi Trust – Project 1000 – Handcrafted lifestyle products – Maharashtra

PROJECT 1000 is a social enterprise based in rural Maharashtra to inspire and empower backcountry women to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams and unlock their full potential with the aim that every woman earns Rs 1000 a day.

Innovative lifestyle products with sustainability as the end goal are handcrafted through creative upcycling using natural and functional fabrics.

Traditional techniques such as weaving on wooden looms, crochet, and macrame are used which makes the manufacturing process zero-carbon emission, zero water, air & noise pollution, zero use of non-renewable energy, zero plastic, zero wastage, and both product and packaging are bio-degradable.

6. Swades Foundation – Cashews – Mumbai

Their goal is to empower rural India through building Dream Villages – transform villages with a 360-degree development approach. It includes health, education, water, sanitation, financial literacy, economic development, and independent growth and prosperity of the villages.

The women in the villages prepare food items to earn a better living. The farmers from the Farmer Producer Company (FPC) are supported in growing cashews and earning through their sales.

7. Bamboo India – Lifestyle products – Pune

Women from NGOs are trained to make the products. Bamboo is sourced from various farmers to make eco-friendly lifestyle products such as Toothbrushes, Straws, Earbuds, Speakers, Pocket size mini speakers, Stationery, Bottle holders, Mug holders, Desk organisers, etc.

8. Saheli – Bags and Pouches – Pune

Saheli works for the upliftment of female sex workers. They look into various issues faced by these women such as health, violence, and children’s education.

Saheli works towards their financial independence by providing training to make products such as herbal soaps, perfumes, bags, pouches, mobile covers, etc. The sale of these products is a step towards empowerment for the women.

9. Loreehamle – Black Stone Pottery – Group of Artisans from Longpi, Manipur

Coming from Manipur’s Longpi village, this group of local artisans make the famous Black Stone Pottery. Although it is called ‘pottery’ they use bamboo sticks and do not use a potter’s wheel! All products are handmade with locally sourced black stone available only in the Longpi area.

The process involves various steps including powdering the stone, flattening, cutting, rolling, mixing, drying, scrubbing, and baking to make each product.

All cookware and serveware are chemical-free, microwave-safe can go directly on a gas flame, and can be washed with regular dishwash detergent and a hard scrub.

Since the stone is rich in iron and minerals the benefits also transfer to the food cooked and served in them.

They also make chemical and pesticide-free hand-embroidered baskets, Tiffin bags, Trays, Mats, etc from locally grown reed grass. These are washable with soap and water.

10. Art Bunker – Workshops and DIY Kits for children – New Delhi

Educate children, aged 5-15 yrs., across the country about our rich heritage, vernacular architecture, Indigenous craft processes, and various art forms.

This knowledge is given with the aim that the students will turn out to be better-informed individuals who will make responsible lifestyle choices.

Artisans design folk art paintings to be used in DIY kits prepared for children. These are made by artisans as a part of the livelihood generation program.

Diy Colouring Kits, Indian Doll making Kits, Block Print Your Own Dupatta Kit, Cotton T-shirt Printing Kit, Wooden Block DIY Kit, Ganjifa Athrangi Printed Playing, Monuments of India.

11. Asgar – Ajrakh fabrics, stoles, sarees – Zura, Kutch, Gujarat

Ajrakh known as the ‘Garment of Kings’ has been made since the Indus Valley Civilization.

Ajrakh printing involves many complex stages such as making unique and customized designs on wooden blocks, preparing vegetable and synthetic dyes, blocking, drying, dyeing, etc.

Sarees, Stoles, Dupattas, and Fabrics available in Modal, Cotton, and other materials

12. Dhalia Crafts – Juttis (footwear) – Hisar, Haryana

This fifth-generation of artisan family has kept the traditional craft of making ‘Juttis’ (footwear) alive. Along with traditional patterns they also continuously innovate new styles and designs, keeping customer comfort and affordability as their priority.

Juttis are made by rural women using cloth and leather with hand embroidery done in Zardozi, Tilla, Zari, and colorful threadwork.

MUMBAI: Mastercard announced a collaboration with Gramophone, a leading agritech platform, to enable 2 million smallholder farmers on the Mastercard Community Pass platform in India with access to agri inputs. The two entities will work towards powering offline payments for farmers in rural and remote areas through the Community Pass financial inclusion card. Gramophone is also expected to enable their existing five lac farmers with offline payments and credit.

Community Pass provides a digital ecosystem for buyers who are looking for sustainable sources of quality produce at favorable market prices and supply chain financing; and for smallholder farmers looking for reliable markets, fair prices, and access to credit. The platform brings together various agri-sector stakeholders in a centralized agricultural marketplace, amplifying the collective positive impact on farming communities. Community Pass services also include an offline payment card and input credit that will be rolled out in the coming months.

This collaboration with Gramophone will ensure that farmers can buy the right inputs at a fair price. The service will be rolled out later this year, starting with inputs and offline payments, while access to credit will be launched early next year. In addition, Gramophone plans to roll out innovative loyalty/cash-back schemes for its members via the offline-enabled card. Through this collaboration, Gramophone also seeks to enable easier access to working capital for their farmer-producer organizations and small retailers for driving inputs and scaling business.

“In line with the Government of India’s vision to digitize the agriculture sector, Mastercard has been working to bring key stakeholders in the agri ecosystem onto one platform to ease credit and input access for farmers and enhance their incomes. This collaboration with Gramophone will ensure that farmers can access quality inputs of their choice, on easy credit terms, as well as the benefits of digital payments even without internet connectivity or smartphone availability,” said Ricardo Pareja, Head of Community Pass Markets, Mastercard.

“At Gramophone, we have consistently delivered top-tier agronomy advisory and quality products through our, in-house technology platform enabling Input Commerce. Now, we are excited to add Mastercard’s advanced technology stack and partner networks to further enhance India’s agricultural ecosystem. Starting with a pilot in Madhya Pradesh, we will aim to support farmers across India by increasing their incomes by 50-60%, through access to inputs and credit,” said Tauseef Khan, Co-founder, of Gramophone.

Mastercard Community Pass is a shared, interoperable digital infrastructure for rural populations that has benefitted over 2 million Indian farmers across 25 districts in eight states, to date.

PUNE: Syngenta India, a leading agri-tech company, has announced the launch of two ground-breaking crop protection products – Miravis®️ Duo and Reflect®️ Top, designed to revolutionize crop protection and ensure quality output for farmers across the country.

Miravis® Duo, powered by ADEPIDYN® ️ technology, is a cutting-edge fungicide approved for use in Tomato, Chili, Groundnut, and Grape. It offers exceptional control over diseases such as Powdery Mildew, Anthracnose, and Leaf Spots. With its power, stamina, and broad-spectrum disease control, Miravis®️ Duo ensures farmers can achieve higher-quality produce.

Indian growers battling several diseases and pests in their crops will have another tool in their arsenal with this effective new fungicide powered by groundbreaking technology. It is estimated that farmers worldwide lose up to 23 percent of their crops to fungal diseases each year. Miravis® Duo offers crops robust and reliable disease protection, allowing growers better quality yield resulting in a significant increase in the return on investment.

This product also has an excellent sustainability profile, as the effectiveness and long-lasting activity of the technology enables low use rates and potentially fewer sprays especially in leaf spot diseases, while safeguarding beneficial organisms.

Reflect®️ Top, featuring Double Binding Technology, is a specialized fungicide tailored for rice, a staple food in India. It provides effective defense against Sheath Blight, ensuring prolonged disease control and providing a robust crop foundation. It addresses the unique needs of Indian farmers, supporting healthier and more productive rice fields.

Susheel Kumar, Country Head and Managing Director of Syngenta India Pvt Ltd, while expressing his happiness at the launch, said: “At Syngenta, we are committed to transforming agriculture by offering advanced solutions to growers’ challenges. The timely launch of Miravis®️ Duo and Reflect®️ Top shows our dedication to innovation and commitment.”

“Syngenta India continues to push the boundaries of agricultural technology, equipping farmers with the tools they need to increase productivity and promote a balanced agricultural environment. We are confident that Miravis®️ Duo and Reflect®️ Top will set new standards in crop protection for the farmers,” he added.

Kumar further said that the unique double-binding technology of Reflect® Top offers robust and long-lasting protection from sheath blight. It provides a clean, green, and healthy stem.

“It ensures enhanced bio-efficacy and longevity against rice sheath blight. It is a state-of-the-art solution that offers peace of mind to the rice growers by providing a robust crop foundation. With Reflect® Top rice farmers can achieve optimal crop health during vegetative crop stage for better further crop development.”

Reflecting further about Miravis®Duo, Kumar said that this product is not only a game changer for chili crops. “It is a broad-spectrum solution that shields multiple crop types from many different diseases, including powdery mildew, leaf spots & anthracnose.”

He revealed that initially expected to cover four key crops in India – chilis, tomatoes, groundnuts, and grapes – such is the effectiveness of the product that it will likely be rolled out to cover dozens more. Providing India’s growers with reliable disease control solutions will help bolster local economies and export markets, as chili vegetables alone make up more than a third of the country’s total spice exports, he said.

It is worth mentioning that the value of India’s red chili exports hit a record $1.5 billion in the last financial year, up 15 percent on the year prior. India is also the second largest producer of tomatoes in the world; however, the country’s tropical climate can increase disease pressures.

With the introduction of Miravis®️ Duo and Reflect®️ Top, Syngenta reaffirms its dedication to empowering farmers with state-of-the-art agricultural technologies, paving the way for a sustainable and prosperous future in Indian agriculture.
