Based on a true story, the film follows Vimla Kahar’s extraordinary journey through gender discrimination, child marriage, domestic abuse, motherhood, and the denial of educational opportunities. Despite these challenges, she refused to surrender her dreams and built a respected career as a wildlife forest guide in one of India’s most celebrated tiger reserves, Satpura Tiger Reserve.

Her dedication, perseverance, and contribution to wildlife eventually earned her national recognition as one of the finalists for the Best Tiger Reserve Forest Guide of India, making her story an inspiring example of courage and determination.

The title ‘& That Fifth Toy’ is about the last dream a person refuses to let die. “In our film, every toy represents a dream. Four dreams are broken by society and circumstances. The fifth one represents her identity and self-worth. Even when that seems lost, her daughter gives it back in the simplest form – ’a handmade clay toy. & That Fifth Toy is not about losing dreams; it’s about discovering where true recognition really comes from”, says Sandeep Sinha.

The trailer begins with the team searching for a once-famous actor, played by Akshay Kumar, whose career has declined after a series of flops. As they set out on their mission, the film gradually introduces its massive ensemble cast through catchy song sequences. The film’s army of very able actors and comedy mavericks set the tone for a comic caper that appears to thrive on sheer unpredictability. Rather than revealing too much about the story, the trailer focuses on moments, and there are plenty of them to keep you hooked.

From Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty’s easy banter to bizarre situations involving the film’s many characters, the trailer leans heavily into comedy. The ceremony, held at the S.M. Joshi Hall in Navi Peth, was attended by veteran actress Suhas Joshi, actor Prasad Oak, Sameer Belvalkar of the Belvalkar Sanskrutik Manch, and Nilu Phule’s daughter, Gargi Phule Thatte, among others. This marked the fourth year of the award’s inception. The award consists of a Gandhi cap, a traditional stole (Uparne), a citation, and a cash prize of ₹21,000. During the event, Samira Gujar Joshi engaged in a dialogue with Amruta Subhash. Speaking on the occasion, Amruta remarked that while receiving various awards brings joy, the ‘Gratitude Honor’ bestowed in the name of Nilu Phule gave her a profound sense of inner fulfillment and satisfaction.

“Nilu Phule and our family shared a very close, familial bond. I learned a great many things from him. Once, I was working on a specific project. Due to certain circumstances, a dispute arose there, and I had decided to quit the assignment. Even amidst the festivities of his daughter Gargi’s wedding, Nilu Phule took me aside and advised me that you should never abandon a task once undertaken; doing so can have repercussions on one’s career. He gave me the counsel: ‘See through whatever you undertake until its very end.’ I have held this teaching of his close to my heart ever since”, said Amruta Subhash.

“I constantly enjoy taking on new challenges. When I step into the role of a director, I tend to be very composed and calm. In the future, I aspire to build a career significantly focused on direction. I intend to pursue whatever work offers me an opportunity to learn and grow,” she clarified.

“When working, one should never remain within one’s comfort zone; it is when something significant is at stake that the very best within you emerges. While the hard work we put in may possess a certain glamour, the act of relaxing does not. Yet, rest is equally vital for us. For me, theater serves as a form of medicine. On occasions when I have developed a fever before a performance, it subsides while the play is underway, only to return once the performance concludes.” She remarked that, while performing, she never feels fatigued. She also shared how the invaluable advice given to her by Dr. Shreeram Lagoo that joining the National School of Drama would allow her to meet seasoned theater practitioners and gain insight into the diverse theatrical landscapes across the country proved to be immensely beneficial.

“It is crucial to determine the perspective from which one views social media trolling. Artists often become easy targets. When facing trolls, it is best to maintain a sense of detachment,” stated Amruta Subhash. Towards the conclusion of the interview, she performed the song “Ravi Ke Uspar Chalna.”

Speaking on the occasion, actor Prasad Oak expressed the sentiment that the appreciation bestowed upon their work by the late Nilu Phule was akin to receiving an Oscar.

PUNE: The Health Film Festival, organized annually by the P. M. Shah Foundation and Vardhaman Pratishthan in Pune, will be held this year on Friday, December 12, and Saturday, December 13 at the NFDC – National Film Archive of India on Law College Road. This was announced by Adv. Chetan Gandhi, Director of P. M. Shah Foundation.

Adv. Chetan Gandhi also mentioned that this is the 14th year of the festival, and 31 selected short films and documentaries from more than 145 short films and documentaries from India and abroad will be screened during this festival. The organizers have also informed that the Health Film Festival is free, and entry will be given on a first-come, first-served basis only.

The 14th Health Film Festival will be formally inaugurated on Friday, December 12, at 2 pm in the presence of Padma Shri Dr. Ravi Kannan R, a Padma Shri awardee and director of the Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Center, Assam, who has revolutionized cancer treatment in the region. This will be followed by the screening of short films and documentaries from 3 pm. The next day (Saturday, December 13), those interested will be able to watch short films and documentaries from 10 am, and then the festival will conclude at 4 pm. The closing ceremony and prize distribution ceremony of the winners will be presided over by well-known actress Renuka Daftardar. Awards will be given to the best short films and documentaries on this occasion.

Giving more information about the festival, Adv. Chetan Gandhi said, “Like every year, this year too, we are organizing the 14th Health Film Festival in association with P. M. Shah Foundation and Vardhaman Pratishthan, and we have received a spontaneous response from the contestants this year as well. This year, more than 145 short films and documentaries from across the country and abroad have registered their participation for the festival, and out of these, the attendees will get the opportunity to watch a select 31 short films and documentaries. These include topics such as mental health, child health and child sexual abuse, women’s health issues, organ donation, cancer, social health, cleanliness, health issues of senior citizens, etc.”

Along with India, entries for the festival have come from countries all over the world, including Dubai, Australia, Germany, America, Pakistan, Algeria, England, Bangladesh, Senegal, Philippines, France, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, South Africa, Serbia, and Iran. The selection process of all these documentaries and short films has been done by renowned critic and social activist Anuja Deodhar, Dr. Leena Borude and social activist Neeta Mehta. Adv. Gandhi also informed that even though the short films and documentaries screened in the festival are in different languages, they will have English subtitles.
