INDIA: Amid accelerating technological disruption, rising citizen expectations, and increasing fiscal and cyber pressures, KPMG International’s Global Tech Report 2026 – Government and Public Sector reveals a sector at a pivotal moment—moving beyond siloed digital modernisation programmes towards outcome‑led, mission‑driven technology transformation that delivers sustained public value.

The report captures insights from 115 government leaders, executives, and technology decision‑makers from around the world, offering a focused view of how public sector organisations are embracing artificial intelligence (AI), data, cybersecurity, and digital foundations while grappling with challenges around scale, skills, and governance.

As governments accelerate toward a more digital, data‑driven future, the research highlights a clear shift from tactical projects to enterprise‑wide transformation. While AI and cybersecurity remain high on the agenda, leaders are placing renewed emphasis on strengthening core digital foundations, including cloud platforms, enterprise systems, data management capabilities, workforce skills, and ecosystem partnerships, to build resilience and improve service delivery in an increasingly complex environment.

The findings underscore that ambition continues to outpace execution. Many public sector organisations are still constrained by fragmented data environments, organisational silos, legacy technology debt, and talent shortages, limiting their ability to scale pilots and convert innovation into sustained, measurable impact. In response, leading governments are sharpening their technology strategies, adopting citizen‑centric design principles, and forming trusted, outcome‑focused partnerships to accelerate execution, strengthen delivery confidence, and unlock long‑term public value and trust.

Nilachal Mishra – Partner and Head, Government and Public Services, KPMG in India, said, “India’s public sector stands at a critical juncture as it moves from digital implementation to intelligent, outcome-led transformation. While AI, data, and cloud provide the technological impetus, lasting impact will depend on three foundations: robust digital infrastructure, seamless institutional integration, and trusted cross-sector partnerships. By embedding citizen-centric design, responsible AI, and resilient operating models into the core of government, India can accelerate execution, enhance public trust, and deliver long-term value at scale“.

Key findings from the Global Tech Report 2026 – Government and Public Sector include:

89 per cent describe themselves as technology innovators or fast followers, signaling strong transformation intent

86 per cent believe managing AI agents will become an important workforce skill within the next five years, reinforcing the urgency of talent and capability transformation

64 per cent plan to increase investment in cybersecurity over the coming year, reflecting heightened risk and threat awareness

59 per cent expect to increase budgets for data and analytics, many by more than 10 per cent, to improve insight‑driven decision‑making

55 per cent say they are getting 40 per cent or more of their financial value from foundational and core tech

48 per cent of government respondents say they will be deploying AI use cases into production at scale within the next 12 months

43 per cent admit they are hitting roadblocks in scaling digital and AI initiatives across the enterprise

40 per cent anticipate spending more than 40 per cent of their technology budgets on maintaining legacy environments, highlighting the drag of technical debt

Taken together, the insights point to a government and public sector at a critical inflection point. Those organisations that invest in strong digital foundations, responsible and scalable AI, cyber resilience, and workforce capability—while maintaining a human‑centric, outcomes‑driven approach—will be best positioned to deliver trusted, resilient, and citizen‑focused services in the Intelligence Age.

INDIA: Hero Future Energies (HFE), the renewable energy arm of the Hero Group, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Government to develop renewable energy generation projects with a total capacity of 4 GW across Ananthapuramu, Kurnool, and Kadapa districts. The projects represent a proposed investment of ₹30,000 crore, reinforcing Andhra Pradesh’s position as one of India’s leading renewable energy destinations.

The MoU was signed by Mr Srivatsan Iyer, Global CEO, Hero Future Energies, in the presence of Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Sri K. Vijayanand, IAS, Chief Secretary, Govt of AP, Dr M. Kamalakar Babu, Vice Chairman & MD, NREDCAP, Govt of AP and Sri C.M. Saikanth Varma, IAS, CEO, AP Economic Development Board and Mr Rahul Munjal, Founder & CMD, Hero Future Energies and senior officials from both sides at Visakhapatnam, on the sidelines of the AP Govt – CII Partnership Summit. Under the agreement, HFE will establish the renewable energy generation projects in two phases, creating over 15,000 direct and indirect jobs in total.

As part of the MoU, HFE will leverage its expertise in renewable energy technology, design, and implementation to set up the projects in a time-bound manner. Hon’ble CM of Andhra Pradesh assured HFE Chairman that NREDCAP and APEDB will facilitate necessary assistance to enable project development, including coordination with relevant departments of the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Union Government of India for required approvals and support. In response, HFE Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. Rahul Munjal, informed the Hon’ble Chief Minister that HFE will invest an additional INR 15000 crore in renewable energy projects in the state, taking the total value of the current proposed investments to INR 30,000 crores.

Speaking on the occasion, Rahul Munjal, Founder and CMD, Hero Future Energies, said, “This partnership marks more than an investment—it’s a step towards redefining how States and private enterprise can jointly drive India’s clean energy transition. Andhra Pradesh’s proactive policy environment and strong infrastructure make it a top priority investment destination.”

Srivatsan Iyer, Global CEO, Hero Future Energies, said, “The proposed projects are proving ground for complex renewable ecosystems that combine scale, innovation, and impact. Through this MoU, we are adding 4 GW of green capacity and also setting in motion a model of sustainable industrial growth that generates long-term employment, attracts ancillary industries, and strengthens the AP’s role in India’s decarbonisation journey.”

The MoU will remain valid for a period of 12 months from the date of signing and aims to enable swift project commencement and investment facilitation in the renewable energy sector of Andhra Pradesh.

Hero Future Energies (HFE) is rapidly positioning itself as a powerhouse in India’s clean energy ecosystem, scaling an integrated portfolio that spans solar, wind, hybrid systems, and green hydrogen. Building on its proven track record in hybrid and advanced renewable solutions, the company has recently secured major MoUs — including one with the Government of Karnataka for a ₹11,000 crore investment in renewables and green hydrogen, and financing support of ₹1,024 crore from the State Bank of India for a 60 MW hybrid solar-wind-storage project in Andhra Pradesh. These commitments reflect HFE’s strategic shift beyond conventional generation into firm, dispatchable renewable energy and decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors, with a growing international footprint across Europe and Southeast Asia. Backed by marquee investors like KKR and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), HFE is driving expansion through technology integration, geographic diversification, and complex project structuring—cementing its role as a front-runner in India’s energy transition.

MUMBAI: Sonu Tyagi, the founder of Go Spiritual and Approach Entertainment, has issued an impassioned plea to the Indian government to bolster mental health support and spiritual wellness initiatives, emphasizing their pivotal role in curbing the rising tide of crime, healing broken relationships, and reducing suicides across the nation. Tyagi’s call is inspired by a chilling murder in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, which he dissects in his recent article, “A Tragic Tale of Love, Betrayal, and the Human Spirit” (published by Go Spiritual News Magazine), as a haunting example of spiritual and mental collapse.

In the article, Tyagi details the grim events of March 19, 2025, when Muskaan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla allegedly murdered her husband, Saurabh Rajput, a former merchant navy officer. After months of planning, the couple stabbed Saurabh, dismembered his body, and encased it in a cement-filled drum. Tyagi reflects, “This is not merely a crime—it’s a warning of what happens when the human soul loses its anchor. Spirituality and mental health are our shields against such darkness, and the government must prioritize them to uplift society and make this world a better place for all.”

Tyagi ties this tragedy to broader societal ills—hate crimes like communal violence that fracture communities, relationship betrayals like the Meerut case, and a suicide epidemic, with the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) reporting over 1.7 lakh cases in 2023, often fueled by despair and addiction. He warns, “Without inner peace, we see murders, suicides, and the heartbreak of a child-like Saurabh’s six-year-old daughter who said, ‘Papa is in the drum.’ Spirituality offers a path to redemption, while mental health support provides the tools to heal. Together, they can prevent such horrors and build a compassionate world.”

As a psychologist and spiritual advocate, Tyagi champions the transformative power of these disciplines. “Spirituality nurtures resilience, compassion, and a sense of purpose—qualities that disarm destructive impulses like anger or greed,” he explains. “Mental health care—through counseling, awareness, and therapy—addresses trauma and addiction, preventing the unraveling of minds like Muskaan’s, clouded by drugs and manipulation.” He envisions a society where these principles reduce crime by fostering empathy, heal families by restoring trust, and make the world safer and more joyful for future generations.

Tyagi urges the government to act decisively: establish nationwide helplines, subsidize therapy, integrate mindfulness into education, and support survivors of violence. “By blending spiritual wisdom with mental health resources, we can uproot the causes of crime and cultivate a culture of peace,” he asserts. This aligns with Go Spiritual’s campaign against toxic digital content, which he believes erodes societal values.

Go Spiritual, the spiritual arm of Approach Entertainment Group, leverages platforms like Go Spiritual News Magazine and upcoming Web TV and OTT services to spread this vision. Tyagi calls for collaboration with policymakers, experts, and spiritual leaders to create a holistic framework. His work as an award-winning filmmaker, including Two Great Masters, and leadership of Approach Entertainment—recipient of the Biz India 2010 Award—bolster his advocacy.

The Meerut case, with Muskaan and Sahil in custody, reflects India’s broader struggles. Tyagi’s article highlights its ripple effects—grief, trauma, and moral decay—and positions spirituality and mental health as antidotes. “These tools can heal individuals, uplift communities, and transform the world into a sanctuary of light,” he concludes. “The government must lead this change, and we stand ready to help.”

Sonu Tyagi is an award-winning writer, director, producer, and the visionary founder of Go Spiritual and Approach Entertainment Group. A deeply spiritual individual with a degree in Psychology, Tyagi has enriched his expertise with professional courses in Advertising Management, Journalism, and Filmmaking. Before establishing Approach Entertainment in 2004, he honed his skills with leading advertising agencies and media houses in India. His recent work as co-producer of the acclaimed spiritual web series Two Great Masters reflects his dedication to meaningful storytelling, while he continues to develop new film and web series projects that elevate the creative landscape. Tyagi’s mission is to blend ancient wisdom with modern solutions, addressing mental health, spirituality, and societal well-being.

Approach Entertainment Group is a powerhouse in celebrity management, film production, advertising, corporate filmmaking, film marketing, events, and entertainment marketing. Renowned for its innovative contributions, the group has earned prestigious accolades, including the Biz India 2010 Award, Service Excellence Award, PR Agency of the Year Award, and the Yuva Ratn Award. It operates specialized arms like Approach Communications (a PR & Integrated Communications agency) and Approach Bollywood (a Bollywood and entertainment newswire). As the parent entity of Go Spiritual, Approach Entertainment Group embodies a commitment to transformative platforms that uplift society through ethical media and social impact.

MUMBAI: Sumeet Facilities Limited India, in consortium with Grupo SSGMatrix, Spain, and previous service operator BVG India will implement the New ‘Maharashtra Emergency Medical Services’ (MEMS) 108 Ambulance Project in the state of Maharashtra. This project is set to transform emergency medical services in India with the integration of cutting-edge technology using advanced global standards. The 10-year large-scale initiative introduces a new operational model featuring state-of-the-art technology to boost service efficiency and effectiveness, bringing wide-scale reform to the healthcare sector across Maharashtra.

Currently, ambulance services across India operate primarily as Patient Transportation Services (PTS). The new project envisioned by the Government of Maharashtra aims to genuinely save lives by utilizing specialized medical equipment during the critical golden hour of a patient’s emergency. The project, under the State National Health Mission, aims to provide pre-hospital health emergency services to patients in critical and non-critical conditions, utilizing life support ambulances to stabilize and facilitate prompt mobilization to nearby hospitals. The initiative covers a wide range of health emergencies, including road accidents, critical diseases, and natural calamities, among others.

Summit Salunke, Vice Chairman of Sumeet Group Enterprises, expressed his commitment to enhancing public health infrastructure and improving the quality of life for citizens of Maharashtra through this exemplary government initiative. He conveyed pride in being associated with this venture’s far-reaching impact on patient care and improving emergency response times across urban and rural areas. He appreciates and thanks the leadership and administrators of Govt. of Maharashtra for coming up with such high specifications and bringing the EMS industry in India to par with European and North American standards.

Diego Prieto Oliver, Vice-Chairman of SSG Transporte Sanitario SL, remarked, “It is inspiring to witness Maharashtra adopt such a clear and innovative mindset with this project, raising its quality standards to align with global leaders. This initiative, which redefines emergency care as a network that brings hospital-level care to the patient, represents a substantial advancement that will revolutionize the EMS industry in India.”

Built under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Transfer (DBFOT) model for the first time in India, with service providers contributing 51% of the capital expenditure and the government contributing to 49%. The MEMS-108 project is set to redefine emergency medical care by integrating advanced medical technology, data analytics, and high-tech communication systems. The program is designed to ensure faster response times across urban, rural, and tribal areas throughout the state, with 24/7 medical support through a state-of-the-art Emergency Response Center (ERC), based on NG911 standards and will be staffed with a specialized team of doctors.

Additionally, there will be a robust Information, education, and communication campaign to raise awareness about these free emergency services provided by the government. Further, this initiative will bring substantial benefits to the public by creating over 14,000 jobs in both skilled and semi-skilled categories, thereby generating significant employment opportunities. The project aims to deliver equal, international-level services to all 14 crore citizens of Maharashtra, ensuring comprehensive and equitable healthcare access. The government will benefit from increased public trust and transparency through improved service delivery, as well as reduced healthcare costs due to more efficient use of resources and enhanced capabilities in pandemic and disaster management situations in the state.

The project stands as a new benchmark in emergency medical services in India, promising not only technological advancements and operational efficiency but also a sustainable model for future public-private collaborations for quality service delivery by service providers. The New MEMS 108 Project will be rolled out across the state in five phases in the coming months.

Fleet Key Advancements and New International Standard Benchmark Upgrades:

The upgraded fleet is based on high-end body kits of ABS/PPMA material, providing the highest durability and strength. It is equipped with high-end lifesaving medical equipment. The improved standards specify the requirements based on the quality of design, performance, and KPI-based reporting structure that are key to better patient outcomes.

New Age Technology Integrations:

Technological upgrades in ambulances now include Mobile Data Terminals (MDT), tablet PCs, RFID, GPS, caller location tracking, CCTV, TRIAGE systems, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), Vehicle Tracking and Management System (VTMS), and patient arrival intimation systems, compared to the previous reliance on basic mobile phones and coordination with the caller for directions.

Enhanced training modules will also be developed for preparatory and emergency training for all personnel.

Fleet size almost doubled to 1756 from earlier 937:

Advance Life Support (ALS) Ambulances – 255

Basic Life Support (BLS) – 1274

Neo-Natal Ambulance – 36

First Responder Bikes – 166

Seaboat Ambulance – 10

Riverboat Ambulance – 15

The total capital expenditure procurement value has increased from approximately Rs. 240 crores for 937 ambulances (ALS-233, BLS-704) in 2013 to approximately Rs. 870 crores for 1,756 ambulances in 2024, reflecting the adoption of new international specifications and a variety of fleet types. The annual operational expenditure by the government has doubled from approximately Rs.425 crore to Rs. 800 crore, in line with the expanded service scope and doubled fleet size.

In the future, the State Government also wishes to introduce forward integration initiatives like the use of Helicopters and Drones for the quickest medical assistance and a Patient Arrival Intimation System in All Hospitals across Maharashtra.

You can avail of this free service by dialing 108, ensuring prompt and efficient response to critical situations.

37000 children studying in government schools across the country will benefit through this huge community support initiative by ADP and its associates.

INDIA: ADP, a global leader in human capital management, proudly announces a significant collaboration with the Akshaya Patra Foundation to provide 900,000 meals to 37,000 children studying in government schools across India. This initiative under Tarang – ADP India CSR Program, is aimed at feeding these children for 1 entire month, underscoring ADP’s enduring commitment to community service and social responsibility.

This initiative is inspired by the choice of ADP associates, who expressed their support for the company to make this donation. Effectively, each ADP associate and their family will feed three children for an entire month!

“At ADP, we strongly believe in giving back and the positive impact we can create as a strong family of 11,700+ associates to the communities where we live and work,” said Vijay Vemulapalli, General Manager and Managing Director, ADP India. “Feeding children is not just about providing meals; it’s about nourishing their dreams and futures. By ensuring that children have access to nutritious meals at least once a day, we believe that we are also supporting their education and well-being. We are deeply committed to making a difference, and I am incredibly proud of our associates for their overwhelming support of this initiative, especially as a token of gratitude for our communities for making us their part for the last 25 years in India.”

“At ADP, each of us deeply understands the profound impact of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in nurturing inclusive growth. The compassion and dedication of our associates to social responsibility are truly inspiring. This partnership with the Akshaya Patra Foundation reflects our collective commitment to ensuring that no child goes hungry. Our objective is to transform lives and create a brighter future for children through this initiative and other flagship Tarang programs like MIDAS, Model Schools, and more which support the Education and well-being of 35000+ children from the underserved communities of Hyderabad and Pune. Together, we are not just providing meals; we are fostering hope and opportunity for thousands of children.” said Sujnan Venkatesh, Senior Vice President and Head of HR, ADP Pvt. Ltd.

This donation is part of ADP’s broader commitment to corporate social responsibility through Tarang. Over the past 25 years of its operations in India, ADP has made significant contributions to various causes, including the installation of 83 CCTV cameras for community safety in Hyderabad, the establishment of an ICU ward at Nilofer Children’s Hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic, and donation to the PM COVID Relief Fund. Most recently, ADP concluded its May Month of Caring 2024, which involved numerous charitable activities through associate donations and volunteer efforts across its Hyderabad and Pune offices. In addition to several initiatives for children, women and youth empowerment, and community health and sustainability, this amplifies ADP India’s larger CSR strategy that looks at the company’s behavior towards a wave of corporate citizenship and social development.

Strengthen learning outcomes leading to better performance in Board Examinations

NEW DELHI: The Board Examination results for the CBSE were declared a couple of days ago and Arunachal Pradesh has witnessed a significant improvement in the number of children passing the Board Examinations in Classes X and XII this year as compared to performance in the previous academic year. The State’s Class X percentage has increased from 39.71% in 2023 to 49.75% in 2024, marking a 10% increase. Similarly, the performance in Class XII has risen from 61.17% to 73.14%, which is a commendable 12% rise.

This is the outcome of the extensive collaboration between the Reach to Teach Foundation and the Department of Education, Government of Arunachal Pradesh in rolling out and implementing the Comprehensive School Transformation Programme (CSTP) that covers Classes I to XII across all Government schools in the State. The CSTP has a specific Exams and Beyond toolkit that covers children from Class IX to XII. The toolkit’s focus is entirely on improving performance in the Board Examinations through a combination of creating textbooks, learning outcome-focused methodologies, and extensive teacher support. The toolkit comprises content creation and re-writing of textbooks interspersed with experiential and activity-based elements. These experiential elements are indexed to learning outcomes as defined by NCERT. To ensure that activities roll out in a standardized way across the entire State so that the learning outcomes are achieved, the Reach to Teach Foundation has created detailed teacher Handbooks to support teachers in doing this and created student Worksheets to create uniform understanding. Strategies have been devised in extensive consultation with teachers to provide emotional support to children as they prepare for examinations. To strengthen this end-to-end solutioning and ensure that desired outcomes are reached, there has been focused training of teachers and system officials linked to the implementation of the CSTP.

Reach to Teach Foundation trained 824 teachers from Secondary and Senior Secondary Government Schools of the State to enable a strong support system for children as they prepared for their Board Examinations. On our request, the State graciously agreed to the setting up of District Task Forces who were given training to review and monitor the Board Examination initiatives at the District level. A total of 88 officials were sensitized and trained on their roles and responsibilities along with the essential reporting tools.

Regarding the Class X and XII Board Exam results, Shri Amjad Tak, Commissioner (Education), Government of Arunachal Pradesh stated, “This marks a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh. The State Cabinet set a goal and the students, teachers, and education officials rose to the occasion to meet the same. I would like to commend the students for putting in the hard work, the teachers for guiding the students, and the District Task Forces who worked tirelessly to ensure the schools performed well. I would also like to acknowledge the Reach to Teach Foundation for their support to the Education Department through the development of the Exams and Beyond Toolkit and the training of teachers, as well as the District Task Forces. Their consistent collaboration with SCERT has been instrumental in the effective implementation of Board Exam initiatives across the State.”

Ratna Viswanathan, Chair of the Board, Reach to Teach Foundation said, “The enthusiasm of all stakeholders at every level and the incredible buy-in by the State Education Department has been key to the performance of children in the Board Examinations this year. The State took us on as partners in the truest sense and together, we have co-created an inclusive space that has heard all voices before creating and curating a design that has worked. The Team at Reach to Teach Foundation has worked unflaggingly to deliver and will keep doing so. We look forward to a continued partnership and will keep working to ensure children learn joyfully and perform well.”

PUNE: The 17th foundation day of Symbiosis Open Education Society(SOES) and 8th Anniversary of Symbiosis Skills and Professional University (SSPU) were celebrated with a special program at SSPU’s Kiwale Campus. On this occasion, staff members who have excelled in their work were felicitated with various awards across different categories.

Dr. S.B Mujumdar Founder and President Symbiosis said that the National Education Policy if followed in word and spirit will change the scenario in higher education. The focus of NEP is on a multidisciplinary campus, a mix of Indian knowledge and modern education but more importantly it has emphasized skills. Once we understand the importance of skills, skill-based universities will be the future universities of the country and every youth coming out of the universities will be employable.

He added that apart from skills another aspect of importance is girl empowerment, especially in rural areas. There is a realization in the industry that appropriate manpower is not possible without women’s empowerment and support for girls from rural areas. The twin focus of skill-based education and focus on women empowerment should be encouraged.

Rahul Mahiwal, Metropolitan Commissioner and CEO of Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) said that we should be able to channel the positive energy of our youth for their self-development and Nation-building. For this to happen we should be able to create opportunities for our youth through skill education. A teamwork of government, industry, and skill universities will help create special strength in skills. He said that It is a matter of pride that Symbiosis Skills and Professional University has taken the initiative for skill-based education.

Dr. Swati Mujumdar, Principal Director SOES said that Symbiosis Skills and Professional University is the first skill University in Maharashtra. Our mission is to provide all skills that are relevant to the industry so that the students become industry-ready or self-employed. We must create a large skilled workforce for the local industry to grow and contribute to the Nation’s development. More than 25 percent of our students have started their own companies and this is the success of the skills university.

Symbiosis Open Education Society today has more than 25000 students across Symbiosis Professional Skills and Professional University, Symbiosis Distance Learning, and Symbiosis Junior College .
