INDIA: Gridlines by OnGrid announced the launch of DeepSight, a next-generation verification platform designed to help businesses make faster, safer, and smarter trust decisions.

Built on a powerful idea that a single mobile number can reveal the full picture, DeepSight simplifies verification like never before. With just one input, organizations can instantly understand who they’re dealing with. By unifying identity, business, financial, locational, and telecom data into a single intelligent layer, it helps organizations reduce fraud risk and accelerate onboarding.

With smart analytics, companies can move beyond basic Know Your Customer (KYC) processes to a more insightful Understand Your Customer (UYC) approach.

“Verification shouldn’t be slow or fragmented,” said Vineet Bansal, Co-founder & COO, OnGrid “With just a mobile number, businesses can access a complete, contextual view of their users, including personal identity and PAN to banking and telecom signals, enabling faster onboarding, reducing risks, and helping teams truly understand their customers. It’s not just about data; it’s about actionable intelligence.”

DeepSight transforms scattered information into a 360° trust profile, providing enterprises with instant clarity on their users. Teams can access identity, PAN & taxpayer profile, employment history, business registration, banking, and telecom information, all through a single mobile number and unified system. This integration allows verification to be faster, simpler, and more reliable across industries such as banking, fintech, IT, and gig platforms.

“Our goal was to move beyond traditional KYC and deliver actionable insights,” said Vaibhav Yadav, Head of Product, Gridlines. “By unifying diverse data points into one intelligent, contextual layer, and making it all accessible through a mobile number, DeepSight turns information into intelligence, helping enterprises make smarter, safer decisions while providing a seamless onboarding experience for their customers.”

From mobile to everything, the platform provides organizations with a complete, actionable view of their users, combining critical signals across identity, financial, business, and telecom data. This enables faster onboarding, smarter decision-making, and proactive risk reduction, while setting a new benchmark for trust and reliability in verification.

“If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.”, Nelson Mandela

In today’s increasingly globalized environment, cultural intelligence (CQ) is not merely an asset but a necessity for anyone seeking to operate successfully across diverse cultural landscapes. It surpasses basic communication abilities, facilitating a deeper understanding and active engagement across various international contexts, making it a critical skill set for navigating and thriving in the global marketplace.

Enhanced Communication Abilities:

At its core, cultural intelligence enables individuals to manage and navigate the complexities of cross-cultural communication adeptly. This includes interpreting non-verbal cues and understanding various communication styles, crucial for building trust and effectively collaborating with international partners, clients, and team members. The ability to avoid misunderstandings and foster clear, productive interactions underpins successful global operations.

Business Effectiveness Across Borders:

Cultural intelligence significantly enhances the adaptability of businesses in foreign markets. By aligning business practices with the cultural norms and expectations of each market, companies can avoid cultural faux pas that might otherwise jeopardize their local and global reputation. This adaptability extends to every aspect of business operations, from strategic planning to day-to-day management, ensuring that the entire organization can respond dynamically to varied cultural cues and nuances.

Conflict Resolution:

Cultural intelligence is key to resolving the inevitable conflicts that arise when diverse groups interact. With a deep understanding of different cultural backgrounds, individuals equipped with high CQ can navigate disputes with sensitivity and tact, finding solutions that respect all involved parties’ viewpoints and cultural values. This capability is invaluable in maintaining team harmony and ensuring cohesive work environments, even across borders.

Market Expansion and Customer Loyalty:

For businesses looking to expand into new markets, cultural intelligence provides the insights needed to customize marketing strategies and product offerings to meet local preferences, which can significantly enhance consumer engagement and brand loyalty. Companies like Airbnb and Alibaba, for example, use cultural intelligence to tailor their platforms and operations to reflect local languages, currencies, customs, and preferences, thereby enhancing user experience and satisfaction.

Innovation and Creativity:

By facilitating a deep appreciation and understanding of diverse viewpoints, cultural intelligence can dramatically enhance the creative processes within an organization. Teams that are culturally diverse yet harmoniously integrated often outperform their more homogenous counterparts, thanks to a broader array of ideas and problem-solving approaches that spur innovation and creative solutions.

Ethical Operations and Compliance:

Operating in a global environment involves navigating a complex web of legal and ethical standards that vary significantly from one country to another. Cultural intelligence helps businesses understand and comply with these varied norms, avoiding legal pitfalls and ethical breaches that could lead to fines, sanctions, or damage to reputation.

Leadership in Diverse Settings:

Effective leadership in diverse cultural settings demands more than traditional management skills; it requires a nuanced understanding of cultural dynamics. Leaders with high cultural intelligence can inspire, motivate, and drive teams from diverse cultural backgrounds, leveraging their varied strengths to achieve common goals.

Personal and Professional Development:

Engaging with diverse cultures not only enriches personal experience but also enhances professional capabilities. For global citizens, continuous cultural learning and adaptation are part of a lifelong journey that fosters greater empathy, flexibility, and a broader perspective on the world.

Attracting and Retaining Talent:

In the global talent pool, companies that exhibit high cultural intelligence attract employees from a variety of backgrounds and nationalities, enriching the organization’s internal culture and expanding its capabilities. These companies are better positioned to retain top talent by creating inclusive, respectful, and engaging workplaces.

Sustainability in Global Markets:

The ability to continuously adapt to the evolving cultural landscape is essential for long-term success in international markets. Cultural intelligence fosters an organization’s agility, helping it to respond effectively to cultural shifts and new market demands, thereby ensuring sustainable growth and relevance.

Cultural intelligence is foundational for anyone looking to succeed in the interconnected, diverse, and rapidly changing global marketplace. It enriches interactions, enhances business practices, fosters innovation, and builds effective, respectful international relationships. For global citizens and organizations alike, developing and nurturing cultural intelligence is not just a strategic advantage—it is essential for survival and success in the 21st century. In this regard, the School of Liberal Studies at BML Munjal University offers a comprehensive curriculum that fosters cultural intelligence, equipping students with the skills to navigate and thrive in diverse cultural settings. This preparation ensures that graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of an increasingly globalized world.

Hands-free technology with insights from Honeywell Forge architecture empowers retail associates to increase productivity, reduce errors, and create exceptional customer experiences

INDIA: Honeywell (Nasdaq: HON) has announced an update to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning into its Guided Work Solutions to help bring greater operational efficiency and better shopper experiences to retailers in today’s competitive landscape. Honeywell Guided Work Solutions’ AI-driven speech technology enables in-store associates to perform tasks like click-and-collect order fulfillment, shelf restocking, and returns processing with speed and efficiency. The development of an AI-enhanced solution to streamline retail operations also supports Honeywell’s portfolio alignment to three compelling megatrends: automation, the future of aviation, and energy transition.

By combining headset-enabled speech direction with software that offers insights and analytics built on Honeywell Forge architecture, the updated solution walks retail associates through workflows in real time. Associates simply talk into a hands-free headset and then receive specific directions and confirmation they are selecting the right items. With the integration of AI, the solution can understand employees’ speech in more than 48 different languages, despite variations in tone, dialect, and pronunciation.

“The retail landscape has undergone a significant transformation, particularly with trends like buy online, pick up in-store, and the advent of highly personalized shopping experiences,” said David Barker, president of Honeywell Productivity Solutions and Services. “As retailers seek ways to improve their operational performance and enhance the customer experience, Guided Work Solutions is the ideal tool to accomplish these goals. It harnesses the strengths of AI technology to empower retail associates to serve in-store customers more efficiently.”

Honeywell Guided Work Solutions helps retailers build a competitive advantage and optimize daily operations by increasing productivity, decreasing training time, and cutting out-of-stock items on shelves, thereby facilitating the potential for greater in-store sales. Since launching Honeywell Guided Work Solutions in 2018, it has enabled retailers to improve productivity by more than 30% over radio frequency (RF) scanning and to reach upwards of 99% accuracy in product picking.* As a result, store managers can make improved use of limited labor resources by leveraging time savings to reallocate their workforce to other value-added activities or to increase the number of orders fulfilled within the same timeframe.

The Critical and Emerging Technology landscape set to provide employment opportunities across sectors such as Healthcare, BFSI, Education, Manufacturing, and Retail

INDIA: TeamLease Digital, one of the leading tech staffing firms, has released its niche report on ‘Initiative for Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET) – Forces Shaping Future of Technology’ with a specific focus on Artificial Intelligence. The report illuminated the recently concluded iCET partnership between the US and India by exploring the growth as well as job opportunities in the area of AI. iCET was established in order to boost and expand strategic technology partnerships between the two countries and pledged cooperation in multiple tech areas like AI, quantum technologies, advanced wireless, etc. Being an IT powerhouse and the second largest online market in the world, the iCET initiative and a great government impetus in recent years, especially recent budget announcements in terms of skilling in new age technologies, create the enormous potential to benefit from the AI revolution.

This report has conducted a thorough analysis of AI’s potential in some of the selected industries and examined the key job roles and AI uses in these industries, demonstrating the increased demand for AI career aspirants and professionals specialized in AI. The report finds a wide variety of key job roles in the AI landscape across major industries, including Healthcare (Clinical Data Analyst, Medical Imaging Specialist, and Health Informatics Analyst, among others), Education (Edtech Product Manager, AI Learning Architect, AI Curriculum Developer, Chatbot Developer, etc), BFSI (Fraud Analyst, Credit Risk Analyst, Compliance Specialist), Manufacturing (Industrial Data Scientist, QC Analyst, Process Automation Specialist, Robotics Engineer, among others) and Retail (Retail Data Analyst, IT Process Modeler, Digital Imaging Leader, and others). Additionally, the report extends the importance of upskilling a pool of opportunities to freshers and experienced professionals by providing a list of job roles that are currently available.

The report also estimates the open job roles and salary packages for freshers and experienced professionals across occupations and industries, as well as the desire for AI skills that job seekers should have to secure future employment. The report has also evaluated that, as of February 2023, there are 45,000 AI job openings in India alone, with data scientists and ML engineers among the most sought-after careers. It is also highlighted that increased focus on scalable ML applications is leading to an increase in demand for AI professionals proficient in scripting languages, and building conventional ML models will be the foremost skill required for a career in AI.

According to TeamLease Digital’s research, the expected salaries for freshers in various technology roles in India are as follows:

Data engineers can earn up to INR 14 lakhs per annum
ML engineers up to INR 10 lakhs, data scientists up to INR 14 lakhs
DevOps engineers up to INR 12 lakhs
Data architects up to INR 12 lakhs
BI analysts up to INR 14 lakhs, and database admins up to INR 12 lakhs

Additionally, candidates with eight years of experience in similar fields can earn even higher salaries ranging from INR 25 to 45 lakhs per annum.

Sharing his views, Sunil Chemmankotil, Chief Executive Officer, TeamLease Digital, said, “The AI revolution is transforming the job market, creating an urgent need for skilled professionals who can design, develop, and implement cutting-edge AI technologies. Fortunately, the Indian government is taking proactive steps to address this challenge by entering into a bilateral strategic partnership through iCET and setting up centers of excellence and training initiatives. TeamLease Services is uniquely positioned to help job seekers capitalize on these opportunities, offering a range of resources and support to connect individuals with the best possible AI job opportunities. With our assistance, talented professionals can thrive in this dynamic industry and contribute to the continued growth and development of AI in India.”

“In today’s rapidly evolving job market, upskilling with AI skills is becoming increasingly important for career growth and employability. With automation and AI transforming industries across the board, having a basic understanding of AI and its applications can give individuals a competitive edge in the job market. Moreover, developing AI skills can lead to higher-paying job opportunities and help individuals stay relevant and adaptable in an ever-changing job landscape. It’s never too late to start upskilling, and investing in AI skills can provide long-term benefits for individuals and their careers,” added Siva Prasad Nanduri, Chief Business Officer, TeamLease Digital.

According to a survey conducted by TeamLease Digital, 37% of organizations prefer to provide their employees with relevant tools to build an AI-ready workforce, and 30% of organizations stated AI learning initiatives are mandatory to unlock hidden talents in the workforce. Evidently, 56% of organizations expressed that necessary initiatives are being undertaken to fill the AI demand-supply talent gap. One of the major initiatives taken is the creation of Centres of Excellence for AI. Such steps aim to provide a boost for interdisciplinary research, the development of cutting-edge applications, and scalable problem solutions in numerous segments. Another step by the GoI highlighted by TeamLease Digital in its report is the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana which aspires to provide on-the-job training in AI and other emerging technologies.
