PUNE: A grand Shaurya Vandan program was held on Saturday by ALLEN Career Institute, Pune, to pay homage to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s security and their families. Param Veer Chakra awardee Subedar Major Honorary Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav graced the event as the chief guest.

The program commenced with honoring the families of the martyrs. Captain Yadav, remembering the martyrs’ sacrifice, said, “The country progresses because we are safe. Our valiant soldiers have provided us with this security by risking their lives. We must always remember their sacrifice and express our gratitude to their families.”

Motivating the students, Captain Yadav said, “Respecting the army is respecting the nation. Just as a soldier fights for the country, a student too should be determined to contribute to the nation’s development. Set goals in your studies and work diligently to achieve them.”

The Shaurya Vandan program under the 25th year of Kargil Vijay was organized by ALLEN Career Institute Private Limited in Pune under the aegis of Ganesh Kala Krida Manch, Nehru Stadium, Swargate. The program honored the families of the martyrs from Pune and surrounding areas who were martyred in the Kargil war. The family members of K. Chaitram of Nashik, Desai Machhindra Ramachandra of Kolhapur, Krishant Gadge of Satara, Patil Mahadev Namdev and Suresh Ganpati of Sangli were present. Each family received a cheque of Rs. Rs. 11,000 and a certificate of honor. The families also shared their experiences, creating a moving atmosphere. Students attending the program paid their respects to the martyrs with a standing ovation and salutes.

In the program, Param Vir Chakra winner Yogendra Yadav, Colonel Praveen B EME Dept Southern command, Colonel Prabhat Kumar Singh, Southern Command, ALLEN Vice President Jeevan Jyoti Agarwal, Zonal Head and Vice President Ashutosh Hisaria, Vice President Vinita Gangwal, Center Head Arun Jain honored the families by paying obeisance to the martyrs. Jeevan Jyoti Agarwal said that ALLEN Career Institute is always at the forefront of fulfilling its social responsibilities. The Shaurya Vandan program has been started on the occasion of the completion of 25 years of Kargil Vijay. Under this, programs are being organized all over India. INDIA: Continuing its #ForeverHeroes Initiative, Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, in partnership with the Indian Armed Forces, takes immense pride in announcing the successful completion of yet another edition of the Kargil Vijay Diwas Ride. The expedition aimed at commemorating the valor and sacrifices of our armed forces during the Kargil War 24 years ago, and to pay tribute to the resolute spirit of our brave hearts who laid down their lives while protecting the nation. This year, the Kargil Vijay Diwas Ride was undertaken by the Naga regiment of the Indian Army. The theme of the expedition was ‘First Breath to Last’, connecting the birthplace of the Naga soldiers, to the place they breathed their last in the war of 1999.

Flagged off on 2nd July 2023 from Kohima, Nagaland, the convoy of 24 riders, consisting of veterans, officers, and soldiers from the Indian Armed Forces, displayed exemplary unity and camaraderie throughout the expedition. As a symbolic representation of the theme, and a tribute to our fallen heroes, the riders took with them soil from the land of the Nagas – ‘sacred soil’ – and undertook a remarkable journey spanning over 3,620 kilometers, traversing through challenging terrains, major military establishments, and revered war memorials.

The ride culminated at the Kargil War Memorial in Dras, Kargil, where the riders of the Naga regiment handed over the sacred soil to GOC 8 Division, Maj Gen Sachin Malik. A ceremony was held in honor of the fallen heroes who fought valiantly for the nation. The riders paid their respects and laid wreaths, symbolizing their gratitude and reverence for their comrades who made the ultimate sacrifice.

As part of the expedition, the riders traveled across various key cities across the country, including Dimapur, Guwahati, Siliguri, Danapur, Varanasi, Lucknow, Delhi NCR, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Dras, to experience the rich history and cultural heritage, the cities had to offer. In Guwahati and Chandigarh, the riders were felicitated and welcomed at the Jawa Yezdi dealerships.

• As a part of Swarnim Vijay Varsh celebrations this year, Jawa Motorcycles will also be making a contribution to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund for the welfare of Army personnel.
