Fare Lock enables customers to lock in or reserve a selected fare for 48 hours for a fixed, nominal fee, while they simultaneously firm up their travel itineraries. This helps customers to plan their travels without having to worry about unexpected fluctuations in fares and availability for their preferred flight options. The feature is available for flight options at least 10 days away from the date of booking the service.

To use the service, Air India customers simply need to choose the flight options that they most prefer and are likely to finalize, select the Fare Lock option in the booking flow, and pay a non-refundable fee. Customers can later return to their bookings on the website or mobile app to confirm their bookings at the pre-selected fares by using the ‘Manage Booking’ option.

The most recent scam in Kolkata involved fraudsters impersonating genuine bank account holders and obtaining confidential information, including bank account details and UID card numbers. To prevent unauthorized access to your bank account and personal information, Kolkata Police and SBI have advised people to lock their Aadhaar biometrics.

To lock your Aadhaar biometrics, follow these simple steps:

1. Visit the UIDAI website-https://resident.uidai.gov.in/bio-lock
2. Scroll down and tap on Lock/Unlock Aadhaar option.
3. Tap on the Next tab after seeing the instructions.
4. In the Lock Aadhar section, type your VID number.
5. Enter your Name, Pincode, and Captcha, and click on Send OTP.
6. Enter the OTP and continue. Your Aadhaar is now locked and cannot be used for biometric authentication.

Users can also lock their Aadhaar from the mAadhaar app by downloading the app, logging in, and tapping on the lock biometrics option.

It is important to note that when you lock your Aadhaar, you will have to use the VID number for most tasks. To get the VID number, send an SMS from your registered mobile number.
