<p><strong>PUNE:</strong> The Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav, organized annually by the Arya Sangeet Prasarak Mandal, will be held this year from Wednesday, December 10 to Sunday, December 14 at the Maharashtriya Mandal Sports Complex in Mukundnagar. The names of the artists performing in the Mahotsav this year were announced by the Executive President of the Arya Sangeet Prasarak Mandal, Shrinivas Joshi, at a press conference held today. This is the 71st year of the Mahotsav, and more than half of the artists will present their art on the platform of &#8216;Sawai&#8217; for the first time, Shrinivas Joshi also informed.</p>



<p>Shilpa Joshi, Shubhada Mulgund, Dr. Prabhakar Deshpande, Anand Bhate, and Trustees of Arya Sangeet Prasarak Mandal were also present at the press conference held today. Giving more information about the Mahotsav, Shrinivas Joshi said, “Many veteran artists have presented their art in this Mahotsav, which was started by my father, Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi in the name of his Guru Sawai Gandharva. The avid and knowledgeable audience also loved the Mahotsav immensely. This year, the 71st Mahotsav is being concluded, and to provide a platform to the promising artists along with veteran artists, many promising artists will be presented at the Mahotsav. Notably, more than half of the total number of artists will be presenting their art in the Mahotsav for the first time. Through this, we are making a sincere effort to provide a capable platform to young artists.”</p>



<p><strong>The list of artists who will perform at the 71st Mahotsav is as follows &#8211;&nbsp;</strong></p>



<p><strong>Day 1 – Wednesday, December 10, 2025 | 3 pm to 10 pm</strong></p>



<p>The 71st Mahotsav will begin with Delhi-based Lokesh Anand performing on the Shehnai. Lokesh has been trained in shehnai by his father, Kalicharan, Guru Pt. Ananthalal and Pt. Dayashankar. Dr. Chetna Pathak, a vocalist of the Kirana Gharana, will then present her vocal recital. Dr. Pathak is a disciple of Swaryogini Padma Vibhushan Dr. Prabha Atre. This will be followed by the accompaniment of the Mishra brothers, Ritesh and Rajnish Mishra, vocalists from the Banaras Gharana and sons- disciples of Pt. Rajan Mishra. Pt. Shubendra Rao, a disciple of Bharat Ratna Pt. Ravi Shankar and his wife Vidushi Saskia Rao-De-Haas will then perform on the Sitar and Cello. Saskia, who is originally from the Netherlands, trained under the guidance of Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia has practiced Indian music for a long time and has built new bridges between Eastern and Western musical traditions by creating a unique instrument called &#8216;Bharatiya Cello. The first day will conclude with a performance by veteran vocalist Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar.</p>



<p><strong>Day Two – Thursday, December 11, 2025 | 4 pm to 10 pm</strong></p>



<p>The second day will begin with a performance by classical vocalist and composer Hrishikesh Badve. This will be followed by a performance by Indrayudh Majumdar, a talented Sarod player of the Senia Maihar Gharana. Indrayudh is the son and disciple of Padmashree Pt. Tejendra Narayan Majumdar. This will be followed by a performance by Vidushi Padma Deshpande, a senior vocalist of the Kirana Gharana and granddaughter-in-law of Sawai Gandharva. This will be followed by the accompaniment of internationally renowned Saxophonist George Brooks and Pt. Krishnamohan Bhatt to conclude the second day. George Brooks has achieved an unprecedented fusion of jazz &amp; Indian classical music and Pt. Krishnamohan Bhatt is a disciple of Pt. Ravi Shankar.</p>



<p><strong>Day Three – Friday, December 12, 2025 | 4 pm to 10 pm<br></strong><br>The third day of the Mahotsav will begin with the performance of emerging Santoor player Satyendra Solanki. Solanki is a disciple of Pt. Omprakash Chaurasia. This will be followed by a vocal performance by Shrinivas Joshi, disciple and son of Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi. Ustad Shujaat Hussain Khan, an artist of the Imdadkhani gharana, will then perform on the Sitar. The third day will conclude with a performance by Vidushi Dr. Ashwini Bhide Deshpande, a senior vocalist of the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana.</p>



<p><strong>Day Four Saturday, December 13, 2025 | 3 pm to 12 midnight</strong></p>



<p>The fourth day will begin with a performance by Siddhartha Belmannu, a young, talented singer from Bangalore. Belmannu is a disciple of Pt. Vinayak Torvi of the Kirana and Gwalior traditions. This will be followed by a performance by Pune-based Anuradha Kuber, a leading vocalist of the Bhendi Bazaar Gharana. Pt. Rupak Kulkarni, a leading flautist of the Maihar Gharana and the first Gandabandh disciple of Padma Vibhushan Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia will perform on the flute after that. This will be followed by a performance by Dr. Bharat Balvalli. This will be followed by an accompaniment by Vidushi Kala Ramnath (Violin) and Vidushi Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresh (Vichitraveen). Vidushi Kala Ramnath is an Indian violinist who is respected worldwide as the creator of the ‘singing violin’. Vidushi Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresh is a leading player, researcher, composer, and teacher of the Saraswati Veena, the national instrument of India. The fourth day of the Mahotsav will conclude with a dance performance by Meghranjani Medhi, a famous Kathak dancer from Assam. She is the daughter and disciple of renowned Kathak guru Marami Medhi and renowned singer Joy Prakash Medhi and has also received guidance from Padma Vibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj.</p>



<p><strong>Day 5 – Sunday, December 14, 2025 | 12 noon to 10 pm</strong></p>



<p>The fifth and final day of the Sawai will begin with the vocal recital of Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi’s senior disciple and Kirana Gharana vocalist, Pt. Upendra Bhat. This will be followed by a performance of Shruti Vishwakarma Marathe, a vocalist from the Kirana and Gwalior tradition. Shruti is a disciple of Dr. Veena Sahasrabudhe and Pt. Kedar Bodas. This will be followed by the vocal recital of promising young artist Aniruddha Aithal. This will be followed by the vocal performance of well-known singer Sawani Shende. Sawani is a disciple of renowned vocalist Dr. Veena Sahasrabudhe. This will be followed by the violin performance of Dr. L. Shankar, an internationally renowned violinist, singer, composer, and a leading pioneer of East-West music tradition. Dr. Shankar has played an important role in the world-famous &#8216;Shakti&#8217; group along with John McLaughlin, Zakir Hussain, and T. H. Vinayakam. This will be followed by the singing of veteran vocalist Padma Shri Pt. Venkatesh Kumar. The 71st Mahotsav will conclude with the &#8216;Arghya&#8217; program presented by vocalists of the Kirana Gharana. In this, Pt. Upendra Bhat, Shrinivas Joshi, Anand Bhate, and Viraj Joshi will give a vocal tribute to the gurus.  </p>



<p><strong>The artists who are presenting their art for the first time in the Mahotsav are as follows –</strong></p>



<p>Lokesh Anand. Dr. Chetna Pathak, Shubendra Rao, Saskia Rao-De-Haas, Hrishikesh Badve, Indrayudh Majumdar, George Brooks, Pt. Krishnamohan Bhat, Satyendra Solanki, Siddhartha Belmannu, Anuradha Kuber, Pt. Rupak Kulkarni, Dr. Bharat Balvalli, Meghranjani Medhi, Shruti Marathe, Aniruddha Aithal, Dr. L Shankar.</p>



<p>Kalyani Group is the presenter of Mahotsav, and Kirloskar Group, Magarpatta City Group, P. N. Gadgil &amp; Sons, Kele Group, Ranjekar Realty, Lokmanya Multipurpose &#8211; Co-operative Society, Suhana and Asha Publicity have supported this year&#8217;s 71st Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav.<br>Along with this, the ticket sale of the 71st Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Festival will start from Monday, December 1st, and this year, festival tickets will be available to the connoisseurs at Shirish Traders opposite Kamala Nehru Park in Erandwane, Behre Ambewale in Shanipar, Abhiruchi Foods in Sahakarnagar, and Desai Bandhu Ambewale in Karve Nagar.</p>



<p>The tickets for the entire festival will be Rs. 5 thousand and Rs. 3 thousand for the chair, and the entire festival ticket for the Indian session will be Rs. 500. The tickets for the Indian session of the festival for students will be at a discounted rate of Rs. 250. <p><strong>PUNE:</strong> Punekars enjoyed the monsoon special tones of Raag Malhar with mesmerizing Sitar and Vocal renditions at the 9th edition of Swara-Malhar Mahotsav. Swara Zankar organizes Swara-Malhar Mahotsav and this year it is being held at 3 different venues spread across June and July.  </p>



<p>The first day of the Mahotsav took place on 28th June at the Bal Shikshan Prashala’s MES Auditorium, Mayur Colony Kothrud. The Mahotsav began with &#8216;Malhar Ke Rang&#8217; wherein Rashmi Moghe, Suranjan Khandalkar, Shubham Khandalkar, Shruti Deshpande-disciple of Padma Deshpande, and Sai Panchal disciple of Pt Sanjeev Abhyankar presented blissful vocals. Pandurang Pawar accompanied them on Tabla and Amey Bichu on Harmonium.<br><br>In the second half, internationally acclaimed sitarist Purbayan Chatterjee of the Senia Meher Gharana struck a chord with the audience with his electrifying performance. Purbayan Chatterjee was accompanied by Tanay Rege on Tabla. Rajesh Damle moderated the program.</p>



<p>This year the festival has been supported by Oerlikon Balzers, Suhana, Vilas Javadekar Developers, PNG Jewellers, Lokmanya Multipurpose Cooperative Society, Willow, The Nature, and so on.</p>

<p>• Sitar craftsman Haji Ahmed So Abaso and Mauli Takalkar, an ace ‘Taal’ percussionist (Cymbal percussion instrument) to be honored during the festival.<br>• Khan Brothers to present their adored ‘Sitar Shashtak’</p>



<p><strong>PUNE:</strong>  Organised by Pune-based Suhana Basant Foundation and Kannada Sangh, the 6th Sitar Nawaz Ustad Bale Khan Sangeet Mahotsav will be held on Saturday 22nd June and Sunday 23rd June 2024, from 4.30 pm onwards at Shakuntala Shetty Auditorium, Dr. Kalmadi Shamrao High School at Erandwane, Pune. Entry for the Mahotsav is free for all on a first come first served basis.</p>



<p>This Mahotsav is organized by famous Sitar player Rais Khan, son of Ustad Bale Khan in memory of his father who significantly contributed to instituting Sitar in south India. Sitar Nawaz Ustad Bale Khan belongs to the Dharwad Gharana and hails from an illustrious family of the Late ’SitarRatna’ Rahimat Khan.  </p>



<p>Speaking about the festival Rais Khan informed that in this 6th edition of the Mahotsav, special honours will be bestowed upon sitar craftsman Haji Ahmed So Abaso and veteran Taal percussionist Mauli Takalkar. Gayatri Devi Patwardhan from the royal family of Miraj, President of Kannada Sangh Kushal Hegde, Vice President Indira Saliyan, Secretary Malti Kalmadi, and other dignitaries will be present on this occasion.</p>



<p>The Mahotsav will kickstart on Saturday 22nd June at 4.30 pm with a performance of ‘Sitar Shashtak’ by the six Khan brothers- Ustad Chhote Rahimat Khan, Rafiqe, Shafiqe, Rais, Hafiz and Mohasin Khan who will be accompanied by Pt. Rajendra Nakod on tabla. The Shashtak will be followed by the felicitation ceremony wherein Sitar craftsman Haji Ahmed So Abaso and veteran percussionist Mauli Takalkar will be honored. The second half of the first day will witness the melodious vocals of Padmashree Pt. Venkatesh Kumar who will be accompanied by Pt. Bharat Kamat on tabla and Pt. Suyog Kundalkar on harmonium.</p>



<p>The second day of the Mahotsav will begin on Sunday 23rd June at 4.30 pm with the vocal rendition of Vidushi Sangeeta Katti – Kulkarni. Sangeeta Katti-Kulkarni is a Hindustani classical singer and also a famous playback singer and composer who is a recipient of the Karnataka State Rajyotsav Award. She will be accompanied by Pt. Bharat Kamat on tabla and Pt. Suyog Kundalkar on harmonium.</p>



<p>This will be followed by a soulful violin performance by Pt. Pravin Sheolikar and Chaitali Sheolikar. They will be accompanied by Pt. Rajendra Nakod on tabla. The festival will conclude with the captivating vocals by Pt. Shounak Abhisheki, son and disciple of legendary Indian classical singer Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki. He will be accompanied by Pt. Bharat Kamat on tabla and Pt. Suyog Kundalkar on harmonium. The two-day festival will be moderated by Anand Deshmukh.</p>

<p><strong>PUNE:</strong> Marking the silver jubilee of its annual ‘Balrang Mahotsav’, Maharashtra Cultural Centre is all set to present this year’s edition from 15th to 23rd May, 4 pm to 8 pm at Shriram Lagoo Rang Avakash, first floor of Jyotsna Bhole Auditorium building, Hirabaug Chowk, Tilak Road.</p>



<p>Speaking about the Mahotsav, <strong>Shubhangi Damle, Treasurer of Maharashtra Cultural Centre</strong>, said, “<em>As is done each year, this year as well ‘Balrang Mahotsav’ is being planned to provide quality entertainment to children to expand their creative abilities and help their personality development</em>.&#8221;</p>



<p>&#8220;<em>With the beginning of the long summer vacations, parents and children are keen on exploring good-quality camps and workshops. Maharashtra Cultural Centre has been organizing ‘Balrang Mahotsav’ for the past 25 years and over the years we have received an overwhelming response because our Mahotsav offers camps that are not only fun but also help in the holistic development of children. The workshops, camps, and plays are for the age group of 10 years to 14 years.</em>” she added further.</p>



<p>This year’s Mahotsav will include a music camp from the 15th to the 21st of May by Swanandi Sadolikar which will have simple music and rhythm-based games, poetry, and bandishes. A scientific toy-making camp will be held from May 15 to 18 by Shivaji Mane. Partha Mawal will conduct a special martial arts training self-defense camp from May 15 to 21. A camp on working with mud and soil by Anushree Dhavale will be held on May 15, 16, 17, and 23. Mukta and Niketan&#8217;s Bollywood dance camp will be held from May 15 to 21 and Kokil Sir’s math fun camp will be held from May 18 to 21. Timings of all camps will be 4 pm to 6 pm.</p>



<p>Post these camps every day between 6.30 pm to 6.45 pm there will be platform performances like a violin performance, puppet shows, music jamming, bubble shows, stories, songs, and so on followed by plays for children.</p>



<p>These plays will include Zee Award winner &#8216;Cherry Eke Cherry&#8217; on May 15 presented by Srinidhi Zad and Tanmay Bhide, &#8216;Abhalmaya &amp; Shalechi Gani&#8217; presented by Satpute and Kale Sir on 16th May, &#8216;Pakka Limbu Timbu&#8217; presented by Arundhati Agashe on 17th May, &#8216;Alay Amchya Lakshat’ presented by Aditya Yadav on 18th May. &#8216;Raja Nang Dhadanga Hai&#8217; produced by Kumud Mishra and directed by Vikrant Thakar on 19th May, &#8216;Minglish Medium&#8217; presented by Richa Apte on 20th May, &#8216;Superhero&#8217; presented by Niketan Nandurbare on 21st May, &#8216;Ek Doka Char Paya&#8217; presented by Soham Athawale on 22nd May and &#8216;Miss Competition&#8217; presented by Soham Athawale on 23rd May. All plays will be showcased at Shriram Lagoo Rang Avakash at 7 pm.</p>



<p>It may be noted that for all 6 different workshops the intake is 25 children per workshop and there is no participation fee for the children.</p>



<p>However, the plays for the children that will start at 7:00 pm will be the ticketed ones.</p>

<p><strong>MUMBAI:</strong> <strong>Smt. Droupadi Murmu &#8211; Hon’ble President of India</strong> graced the spirituality congregation ‘Global Spirituality Mahotsav’ taking place at Kanha Shanti Vanam – the headquarters of Heartfulness today. The four-day spirituality summit brought by the Ministry of Culture and Heartfulness is unique in that it has brought together the spirituality gurus of all faiths and communities at one platform to raise the collective human consciousness together. The summit is themed &#8220;Inner Peace to World Peace&#8221;. The conference aims to bring interfaith dialogues and help people of every age and every walk of life connect with spirituality in daily life. The anthem song for Global Spirituality Mahotsav titled  ‘Inner Peace to World Peace’ was launched during the summit.</p>



<p>Accompanied by Ms. Uma Nanduri – Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Hon’ble President took a tour of exhibition stalls at the summit and appreciated the legacy of Heartfulness mission. <strong>Smt. Droupadi Murmu</strong> &#8211; <strong>Hon’ble President of India </strong>said: <em>“Global Spirituality Mahotsav will take humanity towards spirituality. Spiritual icons like Mahavir, Ravidas,</em> and Gurunanak have given India a unique identity as the spiritual hub of the world. Bharat is the land of ideals of Ahimsa and Compassion, the knowledge of which our ancient sages gave us and to strengthen which our great spiritual gurus are guiding us. Today the great spiritual leaders and lakhs of people have joined together to bring harmony irrespective of different belief systems. I congratulate Daaji for taking the Heartfulness movement to 160 countries across the world. This is a very sacred cause. I am very pleased that The Ministry of Culture and Heartfulness has brought this Global Spiritual Mahotsav themed <em>Inner peace to world peace.”</em></p>



<p><strong>Rev. Daaji – Guide of Heartfulness &amp; President of Shri Ram Chandra</strong> Mission said, “<em>We are very honored</em> to have the <em>Hon’ble President of India with us today. We are in times when mankind must unite steadfastly. In a way, there is an urgency to it to prevent any more wars, chaos,</em> and strife from <em>taking place. If each of us understands that we all are one, it is the same Divine Light within each of us, we can overcome the differences. But this kind of understanding comes through meditation and higher consciousness. The summit is therefore to enlighten all that we must together move forward for the common goal of self-realization.”</em></p>



<p>A panel discussion on ‘Inner Peace to World Peace’ witnessed meaningful thoughts coming from noted panelists viz., Ranjana Chopra, Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, Ministry of Culture; Gaur Gopal Das (ISCKON); Swami Atmapriyananda (Ram Krishna Mission); Sister Usha Behn (BrahmaKumaris); HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji (Shri Vaishnavism); and Sh. Kamlesh D Patel (Daaji) Global Guide of Heartfulness.</p>

<p>A second-panel discussion on ‘Spirituality in Daily Lives’ by Jt. Secy. Smt. Amita Prasad Sarabhai, Ministry of Culture (Performing Arts); Swami Gita Govind Giriji Maharaj (Gita Parivar); Sadhvi Shilapi Ji Maharaj (Veerayatan); Pujya Bhaishree Ramesh Bhai Oza (Raj Chandra Mission); Yogi Nath J (Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Sansthan) + Experiential demonstration by Warkari groups; Dr. Jayanti Ravi (Auroville Foundation);  Master G Shri Rajesh Kamra and Rt. Hon Patricia Scotland, Commonwealth Secretary General.</p>



<p><strong>Upasana Kamineni Konidela &#8211; Vice Chairman-CSR Apollo Hospitals Group and Managing Director-URLife</strong> said: <em>“I represent the aspirational youth and the women entrepreneurs who’ll form a significant path of </em>new India. My family and I work in an environment where people battle life 24/7. We can treat them through cutting-edge technology. But my grandparent, Dr. Pratap C Reddy always believes trust, faith,<em> and love are more vital to humanity. Today I’ve brought my 8-month-old daughter to take Daaji’s blessings. I wish the world had more oases like Kanha so it would slowly grow to create oceans of heartfulness.”</em></p>



<p>There were additional interesting talks by Swami Gauranga Das (ISCKON); Swami Mukundananda (Jagatguru Kripaluji Yog); Devi Chitralekha Ji (World Sankirtan Tour Trust); Swami Amritaswaroopa Nanda Puri (The Mata Amritanandamayi Math); and Upasana Kamineni Konidela &#8211; Vice Chairman-CSR Apollo Hospitals Group and Managing Director-URLife as well.</p>



<p>There were also many experience zones brought by various Sanstha wherein people could gain wisdom and spiritual benefit. Cultural programs associated with spirituality, an exhibition showcasing India’s spiritual history, narratives of peace, and an immersive experience for spirituality through books and music were also organized.</p>



<p>Notable organizations have come together for the Global Spirituality Mahotsav, some of the prominent ones are Ramakrishna Mission, Parmarth Niketan, The Art of Living Foundation, The Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Archbishop of Hyderabad, Rev Cardinal Anthony Poola, Chinna Jiyar Swami, The Brahma Kumaris, Patanjali Yogpeeth, Maharishi Foundation (Transcendental Meditation), Isha Foundation, International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, Archdiocese of Hyderabad, Rashtra Sant Tukdoji Maharaj Akhil Bhartiya Shri Gurudev Seva Mandal, Sant Dnyaneshwar Devasthan, Alandi, All India Imam Organization, Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur and the Shri Ram Chandra Mission/ Heartfulness.</p>



<p>Day 2 of the summit hosted various panel discussions, cultural programs associated with spirituality, an exhibition showcasing India’s spiritual history, narratives of peace, and an immersive experience for spirituality through books and music. Wellness experience and immersive zones were also set up as part of the summit.</p>



<p>‘Sur ki sadhana’ – a musical rendition of melodies filled with themes of spirituality was performed by renowned performers and musical maestros like <strong>Leslie Lewis, Sadhana Sargam,</strong> Sourendro Mullick, Soumyojit Das, Shweta Mohan, Mangli, Dr. Yashoda Thakore, Iman Chakraborty, Sanjay Joshi.</p>

<p><strong>PUNE: </strong>To preserve and promote the ethos of Indian Classical music, the ‘NaadMudra Mahotsav’ organized by Alpha Events is being held from Friday 8th March to Sunday 10th March from 6 pm to 10 pm. The three-day Mahotsav will be held at Keshav Baug, DP Road, Karve Nagar. Entry for the festival will be free and open to all on a first come first served basis.</p>



<p>The three-day festival will begin on Friday, 8th March with a melodious vocal performance by Dhananjay Hegde, a disciple of Pt. Vinayak Torvi and Pt. Venkatesh Kumar. His performance will be followed by ‘Rutusamhar’, an opera featuring music, poetry, and dance inspired by the verses of Mahakavi Kalidasa. This special program will see the performances of vocalist Aparna Panshikar, a disciple of Pt. Bhaskarbua Joshi and Vidushi Meera Panshikar, Pt. Raghunandan Panshikar, the disciple of Gaanasaraswati Padma Vibhushan Kishori Amonkar, and Kathak Dance exponent Sharvari Jamenis, disciple of Pandita Rohini Bhate.</p>



<p>Aparna Panshikar has conceptualized the program of ‘Rutusamhar’ and has composed a unique presentation based on a collection of Mahakavi Kalidasa’s verses describing the various seasons of the year in the form of traditional Bandishes. These vocal compositions will be presented by Aparna Panshikar and Pt. Raghunandan Panshikar, while Sharvari Jamenis will express the poems through her dance.</p>



<p>Day two of the festival will begin with a soulful Sitar recital by Mehtab Ali Niazi, son and disciple of Sitar Maestro Ustad Mohsin Ali Khan of the Bhendibazaar Gharana, while the day will conclude with the blissful vocals of Vidushi Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande.</p>



<p>Aparna Panshikar’s vocal renditions will see the opening of day three of the festival, while the festival will conclude with the heartwarming performance of Padma Shri Pt. Venkatesh Kumar.</p>

<p><strong>PUNE:</strong> Punekar’s were left spellbound with the magic created by legendary and young promising artists from the world of Hindustani Classical Music at the 10th Edition of Gaanasaraswati Mahotsav. This year’s festival was held from 23rd to 25th February at Mahalaxmi Lawns, Karve Nagar, near Rajaram Bridge. Organized by Natya Sampada Pratishthan, the festival is held as a tribute to Gaanasaraswati Padma Vibhushan Kishori Amonkar’s immense contribution to the field of Indian Classical Music.</p>



<p>Day one saw the captivating performances by the young trio &#8211; Abhay Nayampally on Carnatic Guitar, Manas Kumar on Violin, and Ishaan Ghosh on Tabla followed by an exhilarating performance by Kaushiki Chakraborty. The day concluded with the soulful performance of flutist Pt. Ronu Majumdar. Day one also witnessed the felicitation of Abhay Nayampally, Manas Kumar, and Ishaan Ghosh with the &#8216;Gaanasaraswati Kishori Amonkar Yuva Puraskar’ The award format was a cash of ₹15000/- each along with a memento and a citation.</p>



<p>Day two saw some enthralling performances of Vidushi Aarti Ankalikar Tikekar, Saurabh Kadgaonkar along with an electrifying performance of Niladri Kumar on Sitar. On the second day Pt. Nana Mule from Mumbai and Pt. Ranga Pai from Manipal were honored with the ‘Gaanasaraswati Kishori Amonkar Sangatkar Award’. It comprised a cash award of ₹25,000 along with a memento and a citation.</p>



<p>Day three was split into two sessions. The morning session captivated the audience with the vocal rendition of Jashan Bhumkar, the mesmerizing dual violin notes of Pt Milind Raikar and Yadnesh Raikar, and the vocals of Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi. The final session of the festival began with well-known Santoor player Dr Shantanu Gokhale followed by the mystical Kathak dance recital by Sharvari Jamenis.</p>



<p>The evening also witnessed the ‘Gaanatapaswini Mogubai Kurdikar Award’ which was presented to Padma Bhushan Pt Vishwa Mohan Bhatt for his continuous and commendable musical service. The award consisted of a cash prize of ₹51,000/- along with a memento and citation.</p>



<p>On the occasion Pt Vishwa Mohan Bhatt performed on his own creation, the Mohan Veena along with his disciple and son Pt Salil Bhatt, who accompanied him on Satvik Veena, also a creation of Pt. Mohan Bhatt. The 10th Gaanasaraswati Mahotsav concluded with the regal rendition of Pt Raghunandan Panshikar.</p>



<p>The compering on all three days was jointly done by Milind Kulkarni and Vighnesh Joshi.</p>

<p class="has-text-align-center" style="font-size:24px"><em>Award to be presented during the upcoming Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav</em></p>



<p><strong>PUNE:</strong> This year’s ‘Vatsalabai Joshi Award’ instituted by the Arya Sangeet Prasarak Mandal will be presented to Patiala Gharana’s veteran Vocalist, Padma Vibhushan Begum Parveen Sultana. This was announced by Shrinivas Joshi; Executive President, Arya Sangeet Prasarak Mandal.</p>



<p>“<em>Every year since 2007, this award is given to the artists who have made valuable contributions in the field of Indian classical music. The award is in the form of Rs 51,000/- cash and a memento. This year it will be presented to Begum Parveen Sultana during the upcoming 69th Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav that will be held at the Sports Complex of Maharashtriya Mandal at Mukund Nagar, opposite Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth from 13th to 17th December,</em>” shared <strong>Shrinivas Joshi</strong>.</p>



<p>Every year a special photo exhibition is organized at the Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav’s venue on the theme related to the artists from the Indian Classical music. While sharing the information about this year’s photo exhibition, renowned photographer <strong>Satish Paknikar</strong> said, “<em>This year’s photo exhibition will be titled ‘Swar-Chitra Aadaranjali.’ A section of this exhibition will be dedicated to Pt. Kumar Gandharva, Pt. Ram Marathe, and Pt. C R Vyas as a part of their centenary year celebration. Along with this, another section will be dedicated to the artists who have performed extraordinarily at the Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav but passed away in the last few years. The third section of this photo exhibition will be devoted to Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi expressing his affection for other artists along with great artists of the Kirana Gharana</em>.”</p>



<p>The tickets for the Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav will be available at Shirish Traders opposite Kamla Nehru Park, Behere Ambewale at Shanipar, Abhiruchi Foods at Sahakarnagar, Desai Bandhu Ambewale at Karve Nagar, Healthy Bagicha at Karve Nagar and Grahak Peth at Tilak Road. <p><strong>PUNE:</strong> Music buffs can count on the weekend of 25th and 26th November to relish the heart-warming performances of acclaimed artists during ‘Mitra Mahotsav 2023.’ The festival is set to take place at Pandit Farms, Karvenagar from 5.30 pm onwards on both days. Organized by the Mitra Foundation, the program would be a delight for classical music fans.  </p>



<p>The festival&#8217;s first day will commence with renowned music composer Niladri Kumar’s performance accompanied by Satyajeet Talwalkar on Tabla. The second session will include Vidushi Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande’s soulful performance, accompanied by Bharat Kamat on Tabla and Suyog Kundalkar on Harmonium.</p>



<p>The second day of the Mitra Mahotsav will see Pandit Shivkumar Sharma’s disciple; Shantanu Gokhale’s performance on Santoor accompanied by Satyajeet Talwalkar on Tabla. The festival will conclude with a well-known vocalist; Pandit Venkatesh Kumar’s renditions accompanied by Bharat Kamat on Tabla and Suyog Kundalkar on Harmonium.</p>



<p>Mitra Foundation felicitates the Gurus for their noteworthy contributions in music. Like every year, this honor will be bestowed upon veteran Tabla player; Pt. Suresh Samant. Additionally, 10 students who have been fully engaging themselves in learning classical music will be given a scholarship. The award ceremony will take place on the second of the festival, informed Dhananjay Gokhale, President of Mitra Foundation.</p>



<p>This is a ticketed event and the ticket price is just Rs.100/- including performances on both days.</p>
