The newly launched facility is equipped with advanced Vertical Machining Centres (VMCs) with Computer Numerical Control (CNC), such as the Kairos V5 16000, and the BMV 50 and 60+ machines. These machines offer high capacity and precision, making them ideal for Defence and Aerospace applications, and will be used for the manufacturing of critical components of Small Arms systems, such as Light Machine Guns and Assault Rifles, as well as Missiles and Rocket Launcher structures. The ground-breaking event marked a significant milestone in strengthening NIBE’s unwavering commitment to excellence and progress in the sector.

The event was graced by Shri Devendra Fadnavis, the Honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, alongside Deputy Chief Minister Shri Ajit Pawar, Honourable Ministers Shri Uday Samant, Shri Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil and Shri Mahesh Landge. Notable industry leaders such as Arun T Ramchandani, Anil S Kulkarni, and the top executives from L&T, were also in attendance.

After launching its Space Programme, “Earth Observation Satellite Constellation”, through its subsidiary NIBE Space Pvt Ltd in September, NIBE Limited signed contracts for strategic partnerships with Thales Alenia Space and BlackSky and signed an MOU with Maharashtra Remote Sensing Application Centre.

Additionally, NIBE also announced a licensing agreement with DRDO for the transfer of technology of 35 Mountain Foot Bridge (including its Launching System), represented by Mr Arun Chaudhary and Mr Makarand Joshi, Director R&DE, Pune.

Dr. BHVS Narayana Murthy, Distinguished Scientist, and Director of General Missiles & Strategic Systems handed over the 100th MRSAM Missile Kit to senior officers of the Indian Armed Forces in the presence of Mr. Baba N Kalyani Chairman, and Managing Director, Bharat Forge Ltd and Maj Gen (Retd.) Yoav Har-Even, President & CEO Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd, Israel.

Speaking on the momentous occasion, Baba N Kalyani Chairman, and Managing Director, Bharat Forge Ltd stated that “KRAS is proud to accelerate the delivery of the 100th MRSAM Missile Kit for the Indian Armed Forces. This delivery is not only a shining example of synergy between India & Israel and the private and public sector but also reinforces our commitment to AatmaNirbhar Bharat as envisioned by our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi”. He also added that “apart from the missile kits, we will extend our support in Maintenance and Repair Operations of in-service Air Defence Missile Systems to the Armed Forces”.

During his address, Major General Retd Yoav Har-Even President & CEO Rafael lauded the joint efforts of all stakeholders in this program. He stated that “We have been a reliable partner to the Indian Armed Forces for almost three decades and these missile kits are a testimony of our commitment to AatmaNirbhar Bharat. He also stated that KRAS being a joint venture is a testament to the enhanced cooperation between Israel and India in the strategic defense sector, as it leverages the technology of Rafael with the engineering strength of the Kalyani Group.
