PUNE:: The fourth edition of Pune Potters Market is all set to captivate art lovers, transforming The Pavilion Mall on Senapati Bapat Road into a bustling hub of creativity and craftsmanship. Taking place over two weekends, September 20-22 and September 27-29, 2024, this annual event promises an immersive experience in studio pottery. The market will be open from 11:00 am to 09:00 pm and entry to the market is free for all.

Organized by IGA GALLERIA and supported by Bhoomi Pottery, the Pune Potters’ Market 2024 will showcase an impressive array of ceramics created by 40 artists from across India. Each weekend will feature 20 artists presenting their unique creations, making this a unique opportunity to witness and purchase unique pieces rarely found in retail outlets.

The unique appeal of this year’s event is that the showcase includes crafts created in artists’ studios. Artists from Pune, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Agra, Bhopal, Kolkata, Raigad, and Ajmer will showcase their regional styles in a range of mediums including earthenware, stoneware, and terracotta. Attendees can look forward to a diverse selection of pottery, including home decor, tableware, jewelry, sculptures, miniature sculptures, and magnets.

The market will witness visits by various guests including architects, designers, corporations, social organizations, NGOs, and representatives from educational institutions. PUNE: The Pune Potters’ Market 2023, a mega Pottery treat, has begun with its third edition at The Pavillion, Senapati Bapat Road, Pune. The event is curated and organized by Indranil Garai’s IGA Galleria in association with Bhoomi Pottery. The event showcases pottery as a powerful medium of expression, with artists from all over India displaying their artwork in Utility Pottery, Ceramic Sculptures, Murals, Jewellery, and Artifacts.

Compared to previous editions, Pune Potters’ Market 2023 offers a bigger palate of studio potters specializing in handmade ceramics. There are 48 participating artists altogether, of which 24 are exhibiting on the first weekend (20th to 22nd October) and a balance of 24 on the second weekend (27th to 29th October), participating and displaying an array of their artwork.

The event is free and open to all, and art lovers can visit this ceramic art fiesta from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. till Sunday, 22nd October. The festival also includes interactive workshops where visitors can learn about pottery making and techniques.

Pottery is a powerful medium of expression, and potters from different parts of the country have expressed the enriching feeling of mixing their hands in the clay and witnessing an imaginary art piece transform into a tangible one. The event provides a platform for artists to showcase their creativity and express themselves through their artwork.

Shalan Dere, an artist from Mumbai, said, “I’ve been doing pottery for 35 years now, and I primarily do stoneware, tableware, and sculptures. I am happy that people like and appreciate pottery these days. In pottery, I create something that I like more than what people would like.“

Pralayantika Sharma from Bhopal said, “I started pottery as a part of my hobby, but I’ve fully dived into it as a profession now. I do cutwork and decoration of ceramic surfaces, including paintings, engravings, and impressions. I’ve participated in the Pune Potters’ Market 2023 with the aim of spreading this art form to more and more people. I am happy that people are appreciating pottery nowadays.”

Organized by Indranil Garai’s IGA Galleria, this Pottery Fest will take place across two weekends. Firstly from October 20th to 22nd and secondly from October 27th to 29th of October 2023 at The Pavillion Mall on Senapati Bapat Road, Pune.

Entry to the Pune Potters’ Market 2023 is free and open to all. Enthusiasts can visit this ceramic art fiesta from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on both weekends.
