Major athletes from Season 1 re-register, global athlete sign-ups soar as the league gears up for bigger action in Season 2.

PUNE: The Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL), the world’s first-ever franchise-based Supercross championship, has witnessed an unprecedented response to its Season 2 rider registrations that opened late last month. The league has recorded an astounding 89 registrations in just the first three weeks, with all major athletes from Season 1 already confirming their participation for the upcoming season.

This remarkable early response outpaces last season’s registration timeline, where the league received 85 registrations after 3 months. ISRL is charted for a 2x growth vis-à-vis Season 1. The swift re-registration of established riders, including international superstars and Indian talent, demonstrates the immense excitement and growing demand for the league among athletes globally.

The global appeal of ISRL continues to grow, with registrations pouring in from across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Among the star athletes returning for Season 2 are Matt Moss, Jordi Tixier, Reid Taylor, Thanarat Penjan, Ben Hallgren, and Thomas Ramette. They will be joined by three major international names: Alexander Fedortsov (USA), the 2025 AMA SMX Next National Champion, Adrien Escoffier (France), a leading contender in the FIM World Supercross Championship, and Luke Clout (Australia), and 2024 P6 World Supercross Championship. India’s top performers- Rugved Barguje, Ikshan Shanbhag, and Sarthak Chavan, who impressed in the previous season, will also be back in action. This blend of world-class international athletes and exceptional home-grown talent sets the stage for an exhilarating second season.

Eeshan Lokhande, Co-Founder, Indian Supercross Racing League, said, “The overwhelming response we’ve seen in just the first three weeks of Season 2 registrations highlights ISRL’s growing stature in the global motorsport arena. The swift return of all our top athletes from Season 1, along with a surge of new entries, is a powerful testament to the success and influence of our debut season. It’s a strong validation that fuels our team’s passion to take Season 2 to new heights to deliver a world-class experience for both riders and fans. We remain committed to pushing boundaries and further cementing ISRL’s status as a premier global Supercross destination.”

Matt Moss – “Yeah, so the first season was really good. I’m genuinely happy\ with how it all went. Traveling over was a cultural shock at first, but in the best way possible. The people were amazing, the hospitality was top-notch, and above all, the racing was excellent. I’m looking forward to Season 2 and seeing what new additions and changes it brings. It’s exciting to see even more interest this time around, with riders coming in from the USA, France, and even more from Australia. I think the competition is going to step up—guys like Jordi and others will keep us on our toes. I’m looking forward to that and can’t wait for Season 2 to kick off.”

Rugved Barguje – Riding on a proper Supercross track in India felt like a dream come true. I was thrilled to compete in the Asia Mix category, but unfortunately, I was dealing with a thumb injury. Still, the adrenaline rush kept me going throughout the races. Now, with Season 2 approaching, I’m fully recovered and in much better shape to ride. This time, my goal is clear- to secure a podium finish.”

Jordi Tixier – “Season 1 of ISRL truly exceeded my expectations, it was an outstanding experience. I genuinely enjoyed the people, the track, and the incredible energy of the fans. What stood out to me most was how passionate and dedicated the founders and team of ISRL are to the sport. You could see their efforts reflected in every race, constantly evolving, improving, and listening to rider feedback. The growth from the first race in Pune to the final round in Bangalore was impressive. It’s clear they’re not just organizing an event, but building something special for the future of Supercross.”

Brendan Sipple – “I feel blessed to have been a part of Season 1. The tracks were amazing, the racing was intense, and the fans brought unmatched energy—it was just an all-around unforgettable experience. The teams and the overall organization were top-notch. The people behind the scenes worked tirelessly to ensure we, as riders, had everything we needed. They made sure the tracks were dialed in and that the entire event reflected the best of Supercross motorsport history. I’m looking forward to coming back for Season 2. I’m excited to see what’s in store, to race in new cities, and to represent teams that are passionate about growing Supercross in India. It’s amazing to witness the sport gaining momentum here, and I can’t wait to be part of it again.”

The ISRL is set to return bigger and bolder, with Salman Khan joining as the official brand ambassador, boosting its visibility and appeal among mainstream audiences. Season 2 will run from October to December 2025, featuring multiple rounds across Indian cities and three racing categories: 450cc international, 250cc international, and 250cc India-Asia mix. Rider registration is open, with the mega auction coming soon. In partnership with FMSCI, the league continues to transform Supercross racing in India and gain momentum globally.

PUNE: Knight Frank India, in its latest report, noted that Pune recorded 13,371 property registrations in November 2024, generating INR 475 crores in revenue for the state exchequer. Compared to November 2023, property registrations fell by 11% YoY, while stamp duty collections saw a modest 2%. This decline in revenue compared to registrations can be attributed to an increase in high-value transactions. The share of properties valued at INR 1 crore and above rose from 12% in November 2023 to 16% in November 2024.

On a month-on-month (MoM) basis, property registrations decreased by 36%, and revenue collections dropped by 37%. This trend can be attributed to the seasonal surge in October, driven by the festive activities of Diwali and Navratri. The more subdued activity in November likely reflects a market adjustment following October’s heightened performance.

However, when compared to the average monthly registrations in FY24 (April-November), excluding the outlier month of Diwali, the average registrations stood at 13,288. By this measure, November remained broadly consistent, with 13,371 property registrations recorded.

In the eleven months of 2024, Pune’s residential sector demonstrated remarkable growth, with property sale registrations nearing 1.75 lakh units—the fastest pace in the last two years. The city recorded 172,677 property registrations, marking a 25% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Stamp duty collections also saw a notable rise, exceeding INR 6,479 crores, reflecting a 35% YoY growth.

This impressive performance was driven by Pune’s ongoing infrastructure development, its relative affordability compared to other major cities, and a strong cultural inclination toward homeownership, all of which fueled robust demand throughout 2024.

In November 2024, recorded a dip in both registrations and in revenue collection, but Pune’s year-to-date (YTD) performance remains strong, with property registrations surpassing 1.72 lakh units between January and November 2024—a 25% YoY increase—accompanied by a 35% rise in stamp duty collections. This growth underscores the city’s robust residential demand, supported by rising incomes, stable financing options, and ongoing infrastructure advancements.
INDIA: FMC, a leading global agricultural sciences company, has received registration in India for Isoflex® active and Ambriva® herbicide for use in wheat. Ambriva® herbicide, powered by Isoflex® active, presents a novel mode of action in wheat. Isoflex® active is classified by the Herbicide Resistance Action Committee (HRAC) as a group 13 herbicide.

“At FMC, we’re committed to serving farmers with innovative crop solutions that help them protect their crops and optimize yields,” said Ravi Annavarapu, FMC India, and South-West Asia President. “In the last few years, we have rigorously tested Ambriva® herbicide in wheat over multiple seasons, observing consistent performance against Phalaris minor. We believe that Ambriva® herbicide will contribute to a healthy crop by providing growers with a new and effective tool to control Phalaris minor, which has become resistant to other herbicides.”

Ambriva® herbicide powered by Isoflex® active and metribuzin will support wheat farmers, especially in the northwestern regions of the Indo-Gangetic plains, where Phalaris minor poses a significant challenge to crop yield potential. Studies have shown that Ambriva® herbicide demonstrates residual control against Phalaris minor and early post-emergence knock-down activity, protecting wheat during the critical crop-weed competition period as a one-shot solution.

The registration and imminent introduction of Ambriva® herbicide in India marks a critical milestone for FMC. It demonstrates the strength of FMC’s robust pipeline and the ability to address grower challenges through new innovative solutions that enhance the productivity and resilience of their crops. Isoflex® active is registered in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, and Great Britain.

GURUGRAM: Samsung India’s national education and innovation competition Solve for Tomorrow has seen overwhelming participation from youth across India with over 50,000 registrations coming in from across India. Youth, especially from smaller towns of the country, such as Begusarai, Chitradurga, Dharwad, Gulbarga, Jalpaiguri, Khurda, North 24 Parganas, Madhubani, and Pathanamthitta have sent in their ideas, highlighting their growing desire to find innovative technology solutions to solve real-world problems that will have a positive social impact on the lives of people around them.

The top 3 teams in the competition stand a chance to win INR 1.5 crore to turn their ideas into action. Youth can apply for Solve for Tomorrow till 5 pm on May 31, 2023, at www.samsung.com/in/solvefortomorrow.

The flagship CSR program of India’s largest electronics brand recognizes the power of innovative solutions and their ability to transform lives and is inviting ideas from youth aged 16-22 years around 4 key themes – Education & Learning, Environment & Sustainability, Health & Wellness, and Diversity & Inclusion.

So far, 49% of ideas have come around the theme of Education & Learning while 28% of the youth have chosen Environment & Sustainability as the theme behind their innovative ideas. 18% of the applications have come under the theme of Health & Wellness and 5% under Diversity & Inclusion. 73% of those who have sent in their applications are in the 18-22 year age bracket.

Youth from across India have sent in their ideas to solve real-world problems around e-waste management, recycling of marine plastic waste, circular economy, climate change, agricultural yields, providing clean water, healthcare costs, mental health, accident prevention, improving teaching systems in schools and colleges and job creation in rural areas.

As the next step, Samsung will select the top 30 teams (individuals or teams of up to 3 members) from among the applications received. These top 30 teams will be trained and mentored by Samsung and its partners – Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) at IIT Delhi and MeitY Startup Hub at a residential boot camp at IIT Delhi, helping participants enhance their ideas.

The top 30 teams will also get INR 20,000 each to create initial prototypes and then pitch their ideas to a jury of young Samsung employees and experts from FITT, IIT Delhi, and MeitY Startup Hub. This jury will also select the top 10 teams for the finale. Each of the top 10 teams will get INR 100,000 to enhance their prototypes based on feedback from jury members as well as mentors.

These teams will also get the opportunity to visit Samsung India offices, its R&D centers, its design center, and the Samsung Opera House in Bengaluru where they will interact with young Samsung employees and researchers.

The annual program will end with the grand announcement of three national winners who stand a chance to win INR 1.5 crore in prize money and exciting Samsung products.

First launched in the US in 2010, Solve for Tomorrow is currently operational in 63 countries globally and has seen over 2.3 million young people participate worldwide.
